Naruto New Divergence Points

So... Team 7 gets to the tower a day or two earlier, get debriefed on snake-head(why did this never happen in canon?), Sasuke gets the curse-mark sealed, Naruto gets the five pronged seal removed, and they all get a (or a few) good nights sleep...

Two things I can think of could happen, 1. the debriefing could be used as a way for Naruto to find out about the curse-mark, and 2.(and maybe more interesting) Sakura, being rested, could win her match... If by just standing back up after the punch.

And having the Kyuubi suppressed/sealed greatly limits how much chakra he has in general. Looking at it as a whole, Naruto was pretty damn good to pull that off. Even if he only managed a win of because of 'that' happening. <_<

Eh, Naruto had about two or three openings to finish the match from early. Hell the Naruto Rendan was what he was probably setting up for when he farted and even before that he could have knocked out Akamaru severly hampering Kiba's own fighting style.

Actually the fight gives a futher divergence, although one to happen mid fic: If Naruto is relying on a technique or weapon that doesn't need chakra or the Kyuubi, the fight uis probably going to go in his favour much faster, t if it solely relies on that and you've not have Naruto brushing up on his usual skills, then he's going to probably lose.

How about... Right before the series starts, Orochimaru finds a way to turn himself into an Edo that maintains it's freewill?

Say he can even still do his body swapping, to get any new powers he wants, it's just that now he's an Edo, with all that entails.

Some of these are starting to be AU rather than Divergence. Also, there's a difference between divergence from the chronology of the manga and divergence from the chronology of the series, although Seitora never specified which.

A downer divergence would be shortly after the Wave mission when those two loser Chunin show up, and Kakashi holds a vote as to whether or not to go on. Kakashi decides to go back to Konoha instead and tell Tazuna to pay for an A-Class on expected credit.

Naruto's got a bout of selfishness before meeting Haku, and being taken off their first C-rank mission would probably cause team dynamics to fray for awhile.

Going by standard shounen procedure, then Team 7 would get a bit more training before the bridge fight. :sisi:

Because Orochimaru told them to keep the Exams going, or else. Telling a whole bunch of genin about a legendary rogue ninja running around on the examination field (that also just casually murdered a team and stole their faces) is going to severely disrupt the exam, not to mention, it's bond to provoke at least one person into trying to John Wayne it and take on Orochimaru (and get killed, flayed and worn like a stetson for his/her troubles).

In a nut, Bad Idea, and highly irresponsible.

Sasuke gets the curse-mark sealed, Naruto gets the five pronged seal removed, and they all get a (or a few) good nights sleep...

Considering Naruto's legendary bad chakra control, it's highly unlikely anyone would have noticed the seal unless specifically told about Orochimaru using something on him, or highly skilled at seals like Jiraiya.

Also, a divergence point -- Naruto wakes up like an hour after Orochimaru leaves instead of way after the Sound Trio.

What I think would be a really interesting divergence point would be Itachi turning up dead after his encounter with Sasuke during the Search for Tsunade arc but before Sasuke defects to Orochimaru.

Or related, Itachi and Kisame's escape doesn't go as planned, and one or both get taken out by Jiraya.

If Itachi went down, then Sasuke's whole reason for defecting goes out the window.
