“Now what happened here?” Naruto muttered to himself.

Eyes scanned the area of the park in front of him, searching for some visual indicators. He could still feel lingering power from both Rias Gremory, and Not-Akeno. Most of Rias’s energy seemed concentrated to one particular area near the fountain, while Not-Akeno’s seemed spread across the whole park. A barrier of some kind maybe?

He groaned, this really wasn’t his area of expertise. He didn’t have anywhere near the amount of information he needed.

‘Then perhaps it would be a good idea to get that information.’ Kurama chimed in lazily, trying to push his partner to action.

‘Really,’ The Biju thought to itself, ‘All this sneaking around is unlike him.’

While The Titanic fox had originally agreed with the wait and see approach of his host, he hadn’t thought it would go on for as long as it had. They had regained enough strength to be able to defeat both Gremory’s group, as well as the Student Council a few days after arriving.

‘I’d rather not tip our hand to Rias or Kaichou just yet… Oh! What about that weird tennis girl? The one with those strange pets?’

‘And why would she have any clue as to what happened here? Face it, it’s time to stop skulking around in the shadows.’ The fox grinned, dashing the Uzumaki’s hopes was always an enjoyment.

But just to seal the deal…

‘Unless you’re scared of a couple of girls…’

He was being baited. Logically, Naruto knew this. However, Naruto was never very good at logical thinking.

‘I’ll show you who’s scared of a couple of girls!’ Naruto yelled back at his partner. He was Uzumaki Naruto! He wasn’t scared of anything!

…Except maybe ghosts.

“Looking pretty lost in thought there, Onii-Chan!” A mocking voice from behind said, startling him out of his thoughts. Snapping around so fast he almost gave himself whiplash, he found himself face to face with a young girl who could have passed as his sister.

‘How the hell did she sneak up on me!? I should have sensed her…’ It was fairly obvious to him that she wasn’t human and that should have sent alarm bells off in his head. Her energy levels weren’t particularly high though, had he just dismissed her as not a threat? That was sloppy.

“Now that’s certainly not something I’ve been accused of before.” He commented, flashing a grin. He hadn’t thought to bring any Kunai with him for this little investigation, and he wasn’t sure if he should be regretting that choice or not.

“So, Imouto-Chan,” He questioned, following up on her ‘Onii-Chan’ comment causing her to frown.

“Were you involved in whatever it was that happened here?” Well, he already knew the answer to that question. Her energy signature wasn’t present, but the odds were good she was involved with whoever had been here.

Her eyes widened, and she took a step back at the question.

“Because I can sense the same type of energy you possess covering this park.”

“Hoh? So you have that kind of ability?” The fake innocent look melted off her face, easily replaced by a sadistic smirk as a pair of wings appeared from her back, the black feathers reminding him of a raven.

“I’m afraid that means you have to die tonight O-Nii-Chan.” Her sadistic grin contrasting with the cutesy tone she used for her “Onii-Chan” comment. A bright pink light erupted from her hand, forming into a strangely solid looking spear.

Naruto grinned.

As far as he was concerned, it was pretty adorable that she thought she could kill him. Well, she could kill him, if she could land a fatal hit, he wasn’t arrogant enough to assume her powers would be worthless against him. But in a one on one fight, Naruto was fairly certain he could defeat her without transforming.

But where was the fun in that?

For the most part, he had kept his Chakra suppressed since he wanted to avoid drawing attention for a change. Playing at being what passed for a ‘Normal’ human, was a little aggravating at first, since even without chakra enhancement, he was far superior physically then other humans.

Grinning, he released his hold on his power, allowing it to briefly explode outwards, shocking his foe.

“W-What the hell!?” She had never even heard of a human with this kind of power before! The closest she could link it to, was the one time she had seen Kokabiel. The Elder Fallen’s power was wild, angry, and ready to burst at a moment’s notice with barely contained bloodlust. That this human child had power to match one of the most powerful of her race… It didn’t say anything good about her chances of surviving.

Then she lost sight of him, before a fist materialised inches from her face, air pressure blasting past her.

“Eep!” Her eyes rolled up into the back of her head, as she collapsed unconscious.

“Huh…”

‘Well that happened.’ Kurama commented in surprise.

“Yeah, never seen someone just faint like that before.” The Shinobi agreed, before sighing as he bent over and scooped the unconscious girl up into his arms.

‘Uh… What are you doing?’

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m taking her home so we can get some answers.”

That scene took far too long to actually write, and I'm still not really happy with it, but it's acceptable I guess.

I don't know why your not happy with it, I love it, very original for them to cross paths this early

I don't know, it just seems really bare bones in comparison to what other people can churn out. Whatever. It's acceptable, unless there's any issues with characterization.

“U-ugh, what happened?” Mittelt groaned to herself, absently pushing the duvet off, as a hand went up to her pounding forehead. What had she done the night before? Her memories seemed oddly murky… She had gotten bored hanging around the Church, and so had headed of on a walk. She had wandered aimlessly for a while before ending up at the park where Rayanre had skewered the little pervert she’d been assigned to watch. Azazel probably wouldn’t like that one bit, if he found out.

She remembered meeting someone but things started to get murky after that…

Thankfully, she was still fully clothed so she didn’t have to worry about being naked in someone else’s home. Still, this was someone else’s home, tensing, she silently crept out of the room, towards where she could faintly here the sound of a radio.

‘-PI HAPPI KURESENTO Anata ni HAPPI PURESENTO wakatte hoshii no-‘

‘Nakagawa Kanon?’
She herself preferred Kanzaki Ranko, but she could see the appeal in the peppy girl’s music.

Shaking her head to clear her mind from her tangent, she finally spotted the teen she recognized from the previous night. Dressed in a simple orange t-shirt and black pants, he was carelessly humming away while cooking what, according to a quick look at a nearby clock, was probably breakfast.

“Oh? Finally awake?” The blond teen called over his shoulder, startling the Fallen. Had he somehow heard her approach despite her best efforts?

“Just take a seat, breakfast should be done in a few minutes.” He called over casually, as if her being there was perfectly normal. Seeing no real reason not to, if he wanted her dead he’d had plenty of opportunities already.

Plus the entire situation was just too surreal for her to cope with on an empty stomach. So she carefully took a seat at the table, and eyed the odd teen up, while he cheerfully continued to hum to the pink haired idol’s music.

It took a few moments, but the sight of the teens face caused her memories to fall into place, and her cheeks immediately flared red as she recalled fainting from fright. She hoped that never made it back to her friends, or she’d be a laughing stock.

Naruto was well aware he wasn't the greatest chef in the world. He knew a bunch of incredibly simple recipes, which he could prepare at an above average level if only due to repetition. So watching the smaller blond sitting opposite him scarfing the food he'd placed in front of her filled him with an odd sense of pride. If he met Jiraiya in the afterlife, he'd have to thank him for pounding those recipes into his head.

"Glad to see you like it." He chuckled, catching the girls attention, causing her to both blush, and berate herself for forgetting the situation she was in.

"So why did you decide to kidnap me? I doubt it was just to have someone to share breakfast with. There are better ways to get a date after all." She said, try to look like she wasn't overly concerned that she'd been more or less abducted, but Naruto could feel the nervousness and fear slowly start to reassert itself, now that she wasn't focused on enjoying her meal.

"Yeah, sorry about that. But I needed some answers, and I'm pretty sure you can give me them. Once you've told me what I need to know, you're free to go." Naruto said, cutting straight to the point eyes hardening to convey how serious he was. "Let's start with the obvious, what are you?"

"Wait, are you serious?" She felt a small trail of sweat makes it's way down her forehead, as she struggled against the invisible pressure her captor had focused on her. "You picked a fight with me, knocked me out, kidnapped me, and you don't even know what I am!?" Was he an idiot? Or just really that confident she couldn't hurt him?

"As I recall, you picked that fight and fainted after I went to punch you." He grinned, chuckling at his unwilling guest's red face. Stammering slightly, the shorter blond tried desperately to summon up her battered dignity after the painful reminder of her defeat. She failed, stammering red faced, she tried changing the subject, "B-Be quiet you!" She yelled, flustered, "I don't want to hear that from the one supernatural being who can't recognize a Fallen Angel!" She yelled, attempting to vent her frustration at loosing in such a humiliating way, especially to someone who was quite clearly an idiot.

"Ah! So that's what you are," Naruto chuckled "So what about the people in the school? With the exception of Akeno, their energy feels to different to belong to a Fallen Angel." He continued on with his questions, slowly eating his breakfast, trying to piece together the full picture based on what wasn't being said. If Fallen Angel's existed, then that would imply regular Angel's also existed, and if Angel's existed...

"Wait, are they demons!?" That could be bad, given how Sona was the Student Council president, and Rias and Akeno held the hearts of the vast student majority in their hands. Or should that be claws?

"Devils actually, but close enough." Mittelt responded, waving her hand dismissively. It was a pretty common mistake made by humans, even those most dedicated to God's teachings. If these were the types of questions he was asking, she'd indulge him and maybe escape with her life. Despite his massive reserves of power, and overwhelming speed, the human didn't seem the type to use violence unnecessarily.

"I take it there's something that humans possess that both factions either need, or want?" As far as Naruto could figure, both Angels, and Devils, outstripped humanity in terms of overall power and durability. If they were keeping an eye on humans, they they either needed something, or wanted it and Naruto would be willing to bet they were willing to kill for it, either directly or more subtly.

"Devils are using humans to help rebuild their population, since the population suffered from extreme casualties." The Fallen explained, trying to find a way to spin the story in her favour. The boy was strong, if she could somehow get him to see the Devil's as humanities enemies...

So that's what she did. She explained to him the history the Three major Christian factions, as well as what she knew about the Great War. She mentioned Sacred ears, and how Devil's had desperately tried to claim their wielders as their slaves. By the time she was done, it was approaching midday, and Naruto got up to prepare some lunch.

'You do realise what she's trying to do, right?' The Biju questioned it's host. Kurama knew the teen could read people's intent quite clearly, and had been subtly using his emotion sensing to pick out any lie's the shorter blond might have said. That said, the teen wasn't always the brightest bulb in the collection, and could make incorrect leaps of judgement when he only had half a story.

'She's trying to get me onto their side, and use our power to attack Kaichou and the others. She wasn't lying when she told me that history though, so it's possible that, as a whole Devil's really are just as bad as she says. At least the ones that are still around from before this War she mentioned. Also, those "Sacred Gear" things would explain Rias's stalker-ish behaviour towards Issei. She want's to turn him into a Devil, to gain use of that power.' Naruto responded, while making a few sandwiches for his guest, and boiling some water for his Ramen.

'I doubt things are as cut and dry as she said though. That said, Issei probably would have sold his soul into slavery, if it meant he could touch her breasts...'

'That boy is far to much like your deceased Master...'

'Guess I'll just need to confront the Occult Research club and find out their side of the story.'
