Original Fiction Section

A lot of people seemed interested in getting an original fiction section going, so since we only need 20 people supporting it, why not? Post here if you want to make the Original Fiction section a reality.

I'm counting Banana as yes as well. They won't accept single option polls.

Still, kinda wish there was an ideas/preview section as well. I've got a couple of ideas I want to bounce around, and having that slight organization would make things a bit easier...

There is a difference, the current Original Fiction section is just a subforum. These polls are for making it into it's own forum, along with the subsections that go with it.

To expand on my original post, Original Fiction, as it is now, is ghettoised in a minor subform, I didn't even know existed. One of the major risked of splitting off a fandom is that it won't get the traffic it needs to self-sustaining but Original Fiction already has that problem. It is already locked away. Brining it out into the open can only help it.

OK, I will vote to upgrade it to its own actual forum instead of being a subforum.

Measuring by the day would be incredibly unfair, since that would mean wild variances in poll length.

Hmm... this one might actually take more than 20. What you're asking for isn't just a sub-forum, but another section, completely separate from the Fanfiction categories.

I don't think anyone would object to putting an Original Fiction section in the Fanfiction category; I mean, it already is in the Fanfiction category, as a sub form under General Fanfiction at that.

My preferred solution would be to just stick it on the list, along side Harry Potter Fanfiction, Naruto Fanfiction, Anime/Manga Fanfiction and all the rest. Sure, it would be a minor conceptual problem but a minor conceptual problem would be less of an issue that creating an whole new top level category for it IMO.

Then why not just add a "No" option instead of randomly converting the second yes option into a no?

This is the kind of thing that you can't joke about. If an original fiction section goes through it represents a drastic change in direction for TFF. We're The "Fanfiction" Forum, remember?
