Anyone ever thought about wtizing a Ranma/Those Who Hunt Elves crossover? I can't get this image out of my mind:

Ranma knows he must undress elf girls if he wants to get home, and so does Akane. Unfortunately hitting Ranma when he's about to do something perverted (in her opinion at last) has become a conditioned reflex, and every time Ranma tries to undress a girl she bashed him in the head.

I wonder how long it would take them to get home

Maybe Nodoka could accompany them. She'd dance around with her victory fans whenever there's a chance for Ranma to undress another elf girl.

...

You know, I liked the series, but it is seriously flawed.

None of the people whom had the tattoos really wanted them. As such, would it have not been a ton simpler to simply have the governement send out word to all elves asking if they had a spell fragment, and wanted it removed, to simply show up for the removal.

Do you have a work order for filling in that plot hole?

My thoughts exactly. And since there are girls in the group it shouldn't have been too difficult to get the elfs to disrobe in front of them.

But then, everyone in Ranma is rather dense. So I wouldn't be too surprised if they really didn't notice.

Remember when Ryoga had a tattoo that let him beat Ranma?

Make them all useful in some way so the cast has to solve some problem so the tat isn't needed by the elf.

True. Plus, they were rather dense in the original series, as well, so it works.

Random idea, missing a few details. Ranma is filling a position similar to Captain Planet in which he has to dole out abilities, power, and cheesy lines, and can rarely fight the good fight himself, for whatever deus ex machina.

Only, Ranma doesn't exactly embrace his new role, being somewhat mournful, somewhat snarky, and a whole lot childish and playing practical jokes on his "students".

Random thought from thezorch's Ranma Naruto Xover Idea thread

I like the idea of a permanent path (very difficult to find/use and rarely passable) between Ranmaverse and Narutoverse the only thing I've seen like it is the old dead fic Naruto of the NWC which had Ryouga in at least partial control of his fanon 'get lost to anywhere' powers.

One Idea that occurred as a starting point for Ranma in Naruto was that the Amazons are slowly withering away in modern technological China and they decide on relocating to Narutoverse and carving out their own territory.

On one hand I could see them doing so because the Narutoverse fits their culture better and I could see them prosper and grow as a nation in that setting, with a lot of hardship of course, but hardship they have tools to deal with. OTOH I could see them not even considering it because of the insane levels of violence and death rate. What might be good for them as a nation and their culture wouldn't be very good for individuals, many of whom would get sliced and diced by ninja.

I'm sorry, did you just bring up Emo McFailNinja in one of my threads?

Just throwing this out right ehre, since I'm not sure which Ideas thread I wanted to post in.

Ranma. In a Soul Eater setting. Or Vice Versa.

I like the idea of an Independent Ranma as a student at Shibusen to hide out from all the problems Genma made. With a just found out fiancee, who makes for a really good Meister/Weapon.

Or possibly part of the bad guys due to some moral dillema.

Just a little idea for a Ranma/Kenichi crossover. I've only read the first 12 volumes so far, so this idea is only about things that have happened till then. This idea is open to anyone who wants to write the story.

I like Renka as a character and I'd really like to see a Ranma/Renka story.

Renka is in love with Kenichi who only has eyes for Miu. At one point Renka has enough and challenges Miu for Kenichi (Kenichi doesn't know about the challenge). Miu accepts since she's confident that she can easily defeat Renka. She does. Renka doesn't stand a chance.

Utterly humiliated she asks her father for help, but he refuses to train her for the futile reason of defeating Miu. Frustrated she travels around, looking for any dojos where she can learn new things. She hears some rumors about Nerima being a haven for martial artists. Since she has nothing to lose she decides to check it out and when she sees Ranma in action she knows she has found someone who can teach her a lot.

Now how to get Ranma to teach her? Seducing him? Threatening him? Stalking him?...

Adding Renka to the chaos is an interesting idea I think... and she'd really fit right in with the NWC, since I think she has a lot of similarities with the other girls around Ranma.

I find it especially adorable when she acts like a cat... which could lead to some hilarious reactions from Ranma.

Something that I started on over the weekend....

@@@@@

Ranma Saotome was returning from an errand for Doctor Tofu when he saw Nabiki Tendo being accosted by an unsavoury looking person.

æWhatÆs she up to now?Æ he wondered as he swapped the carrier bag from his right hand to his left.

He was about to leave her alone, when a hand was raised.

ôDamn it,ö he muttered. ôHey, Nabiki!ö

The pair turned to face the pigtailed youth approaching them.

ôHey Nabiki, you want to get a coffee or something?ö Ranma asked.

ôErr, yeah, thatÆd be great, Ranma,ö Nabiki smiled. Stepping away from the boy whoÆd confronted her, she added, ôLetÆs go now.ö

ôWhere do you think youÆre going, Tendo? WeÆre not done yet.ö

ôOh, I think we are, Tanaka-chan,ö the mercenary girl smirked.

Tanaka, enraged by NabikiÆs attitude, lashed out, intent on teaching her a lesson in manners.

He blinked in surprise when he realised his hand had been stopped.

ôWhat the?ö

ôOh, IÆm sorry, am I supposed to let you hit a girl?ö Ranma asked with a look of confusion on his face.

Tanaka struggled to get his arm free. ôLet go of me!ö

ôSo you can hit Nabiki? I donÆt think thatÆs going to happen. No, youÆre going to walk away because youÆre stopping me from getting something to eat.ö

ôJust who do you thinkàö the aggressive youth trailed off as he put two and two together and realised just who he was dealing with. ôErr, sorry about this. Yeah, a walk sounds like a good idea.ö

When they were alone, Ranma turned to Nabiki. ôWhatÆs that all about, Nabiki?ö

ôItÆs not important, Ranma,ö the short-haired girl said, brushing off his question. ôNow, about that coffee.ö

ôYouÆre paying.ö

ôWhat? How can you be so cruel? Making me buy you coffee after I was nearly assaulted?ö

ôI donÆt have any money, Nabiki,ö Ranma countered. ôBesides, IÆve got to get this back to Dr. Tofu.ö

ôOh, well, IÆm still going to hold you to your offer of coffee,ö Nabiki said as she left for home.

ôWhatever.ö

@@@@@

Back in her room, Nabiki looked through her stash of saucy photographs. She knew that she couldnÆt rely on Ranma to keep her safe if she couldnÆt find what Tanaka had paid for. After all, it had been pure chance that heÆd been nearby.

The mercenary girl flipped through the pictures of her sister training. Despite them being quite tame, they were popular with the likes of Kuno and Gosunkugi.

æThese wonÆt do,Æ she decided.

Looking through the collection, Nabiki saw the beach photos of Akane. These were more like normal family shots, but they still werenÆt enough.

ôStupid pervert,ö she muttered as the details of the request played through her mind.

æI want sexy photos, thereÆs got to be proper nudity with no censorship.Æ

There was only one pile of photos left to sort through: RanmaÆs cursed form.

Steeling herself, Nabiki flicked through the photos of Ranma. There were some of the ôpigtailed girlö sleeping with her undershirt barely covering her breasts; some of her holding a wet shirt off her skin to stop it from chafing.

But these were not enough to satisfy Tanaka.

Nabiki knew why sheÆd been approached instead of Tanaka just buying a dirty magazine û the censorship issue.

And this important criterion was the double-edged blade that was causing all the trouble.

It had enabled Nabiki to negotiate a high price for her merchandise, but finding someone who she could photograph naked was proving difficult.

There was no way she could ask her sisters to do something like that and there was no way in hell that she was going to allow naked pictures of herself to be made.

That left one person. And, as luck would have it, Tanaka didnÆt know who she was.

æBut how do I convince Ranma?Æ

The idea of Akane being a weapon amuses me. Better yet, Akane is the Meister, and Ranma is the weapon, and is a different weapon depending on his gender.

This idea bothers me, uncensored nudity is a big deal in japan that kind of pictures can get you in jail.

Of course this being Nerima can have even worse consequences like an angry martial artist breaking your legs, or worse fiancees breaking a lot more than that.

this seems to be a little too out of like for someone like Nabiki, even her isn't that stupid I would say.

The so called buyer doesn't seem to be intimidated by her or her wits, so one can guess that either the kid doesn't cares about her reputation, he's even more stupid than her or has some kind of backing up like Yakuza or the such.

But then again if she's so hung up in getting some money she should sell her own nude photos.

Thinking about a rewrite for one of my older fics.

It's a Ranma/Love Hina story called Eggs Don't Ripen.

Now, the problem I encountered during the initial burst of writing with this was that I had to write the early days stuff before I could get to the fun interactions with Ranma, Motoko and Tsuruko.

The rewrite has the set up and the early day adventures told via flashback.

Does anyone have any preferences/suggestions/request/rants?

Interesting one to revisit...

Am I to take it you'vegotten over your Kitsune fix and going back to Tsuruko/Ranma?

I'm rereading it now because I'd forgotten which story this was.

For the time being, yes.

But who can say what ideas will to be written.

After all, I've been tempted to try writing something for Full Trouser Panic.

Or rather, one of the "Covert Operations" for that story.

Covert as in it's not a part of the regular continuity and has to posted in certain sections.

If you know what I mean.

This one. Right.

First, I don't think I ever finished reading this one; I believe my thoughts at the time were that there was no justification for Nodoka's actions. I also may have been put off by how utterly bone-headed Ranma was to just grab and eat the mushroom piece like he did, because if he doesn't outright recognize the mushrooms by sight he should certainly have been at least a little suspicious from her words, or at least I like to think so. If I didn't think it at the time, I'm certainly thinking it now.

I'm not sure what to suggest, to be honest. Forcing the situation was wrong on Nodoka's part, in my opinion, but I doubt Ranma would have agreed to it willingly.

That's about it for the moment.

That's part of the reason for rewriting this one.

I agree Ranma's acceptance of the whole situation was off.

However, discussing the rewrite has brought up some questions.

Should I continue to use the mushroom plot device?

I don't have to use it, as I could have Ranma raised by the Aoyamas.

I just need to get him under their care, either by killing off Genma and Nodoka or having some clichÚd character bashing.

However, if I do go with the mushrooms, there are some loose ends to tie up - I'm sure that regardless of how stupid you think everyone in Nerima is, they'd realise that there's something odd about this young martial arts prodigy called Ranma Saotome and they'd investigate.

Hmm, the whole foundation of that story is kind of shaky.

For instance, Ranma is not as ill-adjusted as Nodoka seems to think. He's actually a rather nice, easy-going and even polite fellow.

I also can't see Kasumi going along with Nodoka's plan. At least not if you go by how she acted at the beginning of the series. She was able to spot a bad idea and speak her mind about it. I think she'd do the same thing in this case.

Anyway, if you want to have Ranma being raised, at least in part, by the Aoyamas, you could just change the initial seppuku contract. Have Nodoka tell Genma that she'll only agree to it if he takes Ranma to the Aoyama dojo once he reaches a certain age, say 10 or so, to have his education and training completed there.

Or you can have someone find him wandering the streets the first time he runs across the mushrooms, after he thinks they've all been destroyed but before the hidden stash- Akane's, isn't it?- is produced. It's a little contrived, I admit, but it'd work.

Instead of slamming/killing Genma how about something like this.

Someone comes looking for revenge against Happosai at the Tendo's, things happen & a magical macguffin hits the lot of them with various curses, with Ranma now a little kid again.

In the aftermath Genma needs to hunt down the counter agent and puts Ranma up the Aoyama's due to some sort of connection with them ~ perhaps a relative.

Then leap into the story you want to write.
