Here's a possible change for Akane's status in the idea I pitched a few posts up:

Soun and Yohko (which is still just a temporary name) battle the various winter youma. Only a Yukionna grabs Yohko and starts to suck the life out of her. Akane jumps on the Yukionna and bites her on the neck. While thrashing about, the Yukionna actually makes the damage worse until finally, after she gets Akane off her neck, she falls over and bleeds to death.

Horrified and angry, the other Yukionna take their dead sister and flee. A few days later, Akane begins falling ill. The doctor mentioned before helps the Tendos catch what's going on: the yukionna have cast a curse on Akane.

The curse is specifically stated so that, unless Akane can give back what she has taken from the yukionna tribe (i.e. the life of a yukionna), she will walk as a yukionna.

Since Akane has no life-restoring powers, the only option that would actually BREAK the curse would be for her to give birth a yukionna and give said child to the pack of yukionna. (Simply joining the pack wouldn't break the curse)

Akane has no desire to conceive a child, then condemn it to those "evil frozen bitches" simply to break a stupid curse on herself.

If it involves Sailor Moon at all then I don't want to read it. I'm sick of the series and I'm sick of R/SM crosses. Of all kinds. There are far too many.

This could be a Yuu Yuu Hakusho cross instead. Yukina was a koorime, Hiei was a fire demon born from a koorime mother, and there is a village of koorime in Makai. A weak one could easily have decided to leave and live in the human realm.

Another few days passed and KasumiÆs situation hadnÆt changed. Sure, a new challenger had appeared for Ranma, but it hadnÆt taken him long to best this new boy.

A generous application of cold water and an open shirt had distracted him long enough for Ranma to put his strength on show.

The Tendo homemaker sighed as she finished clearing up the table after the celebratory dinner.

Nabiki, having glanced at the eveningÆs TV schedule, decided to head up to her room. As she passed the kitchen, she looked in to see Kasumi looking less than joyous.

ôIs something up, Kasumi?ö

ôIà itÆs nothing.ö

The younger sister shrugged, sheÆd done her bit and was about to leave for her room when she heard Kasumi sigh again. ôIf youÆre sure that itÆs nothing, but you should remember what I said about being bored. RanmaÆs great entertainment if you know how to handle him.ö

ôDo you really think that I should tease Ranma-kun?ö

ôYeah, you just need to know which buttons to press. You canÆt just insult his manhood or fighting skills, you need to use some subtlety.ö

ôLike what?ö Kasumi asked, still unsure of the quality of this idea.

ôYou say things like, æI think that Kodachi was outside looking for you, RanmaÆ,ö Nabiki answered. ôThen watch the fireworks, itÆll brighten up your day.ö

ôThat seems a bit mean to me,ö the homemaker replied.

ôItÆs not your only option, you could flirt with him û the look of panic he wears whenever someone flirts with him is comedy gold.ö

ôNow that is mean, Nabiki,ö Kasumi chided.

ôYour loss,ö Nabiki shrugged before leaving for her room.

Kasumi frowned as she continued to clean up. ôWhen did Nabiki become so mean-spirited?ö

It took Kasumi Tendo another hour to finish cleaning up the kitchen and, by that time, she was too tired to do anything else that evening. She made her way into the living room and announced that she was taking a bath.

Akane turned to Ranma. ôThat means you should stay away from the bathroom, Ranma.ö

ôWhatÆs that supposed to mean?ö the cursed martial artist demanded.

ôI know what youÆre like, you pervert,ö the Tendo heir snorted. ôYouÆll take any chance to peep on a girl.ö

RanmaÆs jaw fell. ôWhat are talking about? I donÆt evenà You know what? I think youÆre just jealous that KasumiÆs got a body thatÆs worth peeping on!ö

ôOhà Iàö Kasumi stammered, clearly embarrassed by RanmaÆs comment.

ôYou pervert!ö Akane growled as she slapped her fiancÚ on the right cheek. ôIÆm going to bed, youÆre lucky I canÆt lock you into your room!ö

As Akane stormed off, Ranma rubbed his face. ôStupid tomboyàö

Kasumi smiled apologetically before she made her way up the stairs to the bathroom, hoping that her sister and fiancÚ would patch things up before too long.

We definitely need more YYH crossovers I'm hoping for one day someone writes a decent Hunter x Hunter fic with Ranma in it. Think Psyren might be a good crossover? Maybe Id, Yureka, 1/2 Prince, Fairy Tail, Fist of the North Star, or JJBA.

True. There are a plethora of those and really, the SM cast isn't very mercenary. I'll look for other series to bring in.

Not sure about YYH though.

I've watched YYH the movie and up to the start of the Dark Tournament, but frankly, I don't think I'd be able to fit the characters in properly.

Mostly because if Yusuke isn't too much of a slacker to blow off an investigation when someone else is hunting his target, there's no way he wouldn't get up in Koenma's grill about just hiring one of the various hunting groups that I'll be bringing in.

And trust me, I'm going to be bringing in a number of groups that should've gotten Koenma's attention.

Besides, Polytheism is going to be rampant and the YYH universe is kinda set and I don't want to get set with just ONE version of hell.

I only brought up YYH as an example because it was the first series I thought of with a yuki-onna like character. I know there are others but it came to mind first.

True... Sailor Moon is more about vigilantes and incursians than mercenaries.

Meh... Nanoha is more mercenary like, not in actuality, but in how they operate. Kind of like Mithril from FMP in that respect. Good training... grey morals.

Hmmm... other mercenary like defenders of love and 'justice'...

A bit too early and not right category, or I'd recommend Knight Sabers from BGC.

Would Dirty Pair count? No, as mercenary as they seem, they are legal.

Gatekeepers are also legal... pity, as they have a yuki-onna in it. HEY... Akanes mom could have been that girl from gatkeepers... timeframe is right.

Shakugan no Shana might be right up the alley you need. Ruthless... good fights against monsters, operate outside the law.

Witchblade would be *too* ruthless.

Only other one to occur to me would be Shikabane Hime.

As she lay soaking in the bathtub, KasumiÆs mind drifted back to RanmaÆs comment about her having a body worth peeping on.

She looked down at her large breasts and slender waist. æI suppose that Ranma-kunÆs got a point.Æ

Running her fingers through her long, brown hair, a mischievous thought popped into KasumiÆs head. æI suppose that flirting with Ranma-kun could be fun. I wonder what heÆd say if I went into his room and opened my bathrobeàÆ

She giggled at the thought of a red-faced Ranma protesting as she started to show off her body. ôNo, thatÆs a silly thought. Besidesàö

Deciding that sheÆd spent enough time in the tub, Kasumi stood up and stepped out, the water dripping of her every curve as she reached for the nearest towel.

Try as she might, the brunette was unable to keep her thoughts on the task at hand. The idea of flirting with Ranma was becoming more and more appealing to her and it was less along the lines of a source of comedy that Nabiki used with him.

No, it was becoming increasingly clear to Kasumi that there was something lacking in her life. Something that manners and politeness werenÆt going to help with.

Perhaps a little æimproprietyÆ on her part would fill this recently discovered gap?

Quickly finishing drying herself, Kasumi slipped on her bathrobe and loosely tied the front closed. Sliding the door open, she felt rather conflicted that there was no-one out in the hallway.

She felt a little sad that Ranma didnÆt think she was worth peeping on to the point where heÆd actually done it. Then she thought about the trouble that would have been caused if Ranma had been caught peeping on her.

A little ego boost for Kasumi aside, it would have led to Ranma getting a beating from Akane.

Kasumi stepped to her room and reached for the door handle. She opened the door and a thought entered her head. æI could go downstairs to see if Ranma-kunÆs still awake. See if this flirting thing is as fun as Nabiki saysàÆ

It's not Ranma/Kasumi, not really, I don't think. Personally, I've always enjoyed Webmistress!Kasumi, but I think I've mentioned that a few times.

It's also something I don't remember seeing and would like to see more of... but on the other hand, if you do actually start it, I seriously doubt I'll live to see the finish. How many fics do you have out and going, right now?

Actually, now that I think about it, it would probably be part of any cast, rather than an attempt at the full cast.

I can work with it. Of course, plotting it all out and getting the pacing down is going to be the tough part.

I think you could get two shots worth out of it. Though in all honesty, it's going to likely be one of two things:

- A Kasumi submission -- she has her fun, but "gives" Ranma back to Akane because she's not meant to have nice things.

Or

- An overwhelming Kasumi victory -- given how Kasumi is set up, getting involved with her even slightly is the Point of No Return; no one really wants to anger her even a little, and you'd have to be a real jerkass to break up with her. And that will most likely backfire, with even the primary injured party chanting for your reunion with Kasumi.

In the end, Kasumi would be the relationship version of Haruhi Suzumiya, whether she knows/likes it or not.

Ranma was standing in the kitchen, frowning at the recently arrived piglet.

ôWhatÆs up with you now?ö

ôBwee!ö the piglet replied. It bore its teeth aggressively.

ôCalm down, bacon-breath,ö Ranma said dismissively. ôOr do you want me to change you back right here? How do you think the Tendos will react when they find a naked man in the house?ö

Ryoga visibly calmed down.

ôThatÆs better, Ryoga. Now, let me get you some clothes before I change you back,ö the pigtailed martial artist said as he reached into the backpack the piglet had dragged inside. He pulled out an outfit and set it aside.

After boiling the kettle, Ranma poured some hot water onto the piglet.

ôAh, you know it doesnÆt have to be that hot, Ranma!ö Ryoga growled.

ôIf youÆve been scalded, you should run cold water over the injury,ö Ranma said as he theatrically reached for a cold drink.

ôNo, Ranma, IÆm fine,ö the part-time piglet said through gritted teeth. He reached for his clothes and started to dress. ôSo, what have I missed?ö

ôA pork shortage,ö the pigtailed youth smirked.

ôI guess that could be a problem for you and the other the women of Nerima,ö Ryoga replied.

ôOh, hello Ryoga-kun,ö Kasumi said as she entered the kitchen.

ôIà h-hello, K-Kasumi-sanàö the fanged martial artist blushed as he rushed to finish dressing.

The presence of Ryoga caused Kasumi to think again about flirting with Ranma. While she sort of wanted to go ahead with her plan, there was no way she was going to flirt with Ranma with someone else there.

ôIs there anything I can get for you, Ryoga-kun?ö the brunette asked.

ôIà IÆm fine, thank you,ö Ryoga blushed.

Kasumi poured herself a glass of water and was about to take a sip when a thought occurred to her. ôErr, Ryoga-kun, why were you getting dressed in my kitchen?ö

ôI can explainàö

ôPlease do,ö Ranma smirked as he folded his arms across his chest. ôThis should be good.ö

ôYou know why I was getting dress, Ranma,ö Ryoga spat angrily.

ôBut Kasumi doesnÆt, and since you can explain, I think you should.ö

ôIà Ranma spilled some water on me!ö

ôIs this true, Ranma-kun?ö Kasumi asked, turning to the pigtailed martial artist.

ôTechnically yeah, but Ryoga wanted me to.ö

ôWhy would he want you to spill water onto him?ö the homemaker asked.

ôWhy indeed, Kasumi, why indeed?ö Ranma said enigmatically. ôRyoga travels a lot, perhaps heÆs been to China?ö

ôChina?ö Kasumi repeated. As she considered what could have caused Ryoga to need to be splashed with water the metaphorical penny dropped. And she moved to launch her drink at the directionally challenged boy.

ôCrap,ö Ranma muttered as he felt his sense of obligation tingle and stepped in front of the cold liquid. After turning into a girl, Ranma faced Ryoga and shot him a look that warned him he better appreciate whatÆd heÆd done. ôCareful there, Kasumi, youÆll make a mess.ö

The brunette frowned as she came to the conclusion that there must be a reason for Ranma to stop Ryoga from being splashed with cold water. ôTell me whatÆs going on, Ranma-kun. Why would you want to stop Ryoga-kun from getting splashed with cold water?ö

ôI promised I wouldnÆt say,ö the redhead replied. She glared at Ryoga.

ôIà I can explain,ö Ryoga insisted. ôItÆs a long story.ö

ôThe sooner you start, the soon youÆll be finished,ö Ranma countered. ôSo start talking, Ryoga.ö

Well.. Ranma promised a dog that he wouldn't say. You should have Ranma's prerogative with Ryoga to be about trolling him. Keep the ruse going as long as possible to try and give Ryoga a heart attack.

Also good start Raa, nicely written, and I have the urge of seeing Nabiki getting beaten up which is how it should be IMO.

Of course there isn't really a promise. Ranma's attempted to reveal Ryoga's curse early on, once Ryoga started abusing it with Akane, but got foiled each time. It's basically at the point where revealing it now would then cause him to have to explain why he never did before. And given both his record of explaining things and Akane's with listening to his explanations, good luck surviving that.
