Kasumi nodded before bending down to pick up the damp piglet. As she stood back up, her bathrobe started to slip open.

Ranma leapt into action and quickly retied the bathrobe, preventing anyone from getting a glimpse of KasumiÆs body. ôPerhaps you should put P-chan down, Kasumi. He gets a bit funny when heÆs held too closely by girls.ö

ôWell, I promised I wouldnÆt reveal his secret, but he started to take advantage of the situation by sneaking into AkaneÆs bed.ö

As Ryoga scrambled to make himself decent, Ranma turned Kasumi. It was then that he noticed his attempt to preserve KasumiÆs modesty hadnÆt gone exactly to plan. There was a chance that the knot would come undone again and KasumiÆs curves could be displayed to all.

Kasumi blinked. There were logical leaps and there were leaps in logic. Akane knew for a fact that there were people in Nerima who could be turned into animals with the application of cold water, yet she rejected the possibility that Ryoga, someone who had been all over the world in his travels could have picked up a Jusenkyo curse.

I always felt ranma kept if quiet out because he never said anything about this before and doesn't want the fallout of them relizing he's been letting this go on for a while. Ranma's been shown to throw pride to the wind and twist his honor into a pretzel if the price is right it would be easy to show Ryouga's curse without breaking that promise. Plus he can use it as a subtle threat for payback and stress releif.
Now that i think about it had they ever brought up the promise any of the times Ranma threatens to show it to Akane?

The story is rather innocent and, for that matter, ancient -- it hasn't had any kind of update at all since early 2003 that I remember, and that was just a snippet. The last full chapter is years older than that. It's getting up into "Hearts of Ice" territory as far as time between updates go, except HoI is actually complete now and so can't be used for that joke anymore. Which is amazing itself.
I might be having a new fic idea.
This one looks like it's some form of Full Metal Panic crossover.
I'm currently thinking of the details, but it's unlikely that there will be much from the rest of the Ranma cast.
In fact, I'm thinking that at least one dies before the fic starts.

That *is* very little to go on.
Would it be rehashing bits from your existing Ranma and FMP cross?
I've always liked the Pervert Kaname antics, even if not true and only from Ranma's standpoint did they make any sense.
As for much of the cast being a part of it... unless they turn out to all be whispered... I would rather they not all participate. The issue is while both are comedy, they are not truly overly compatible comedy... that is why most such crossovers are either indirect, or only involving some of the cast of each...

ò However, Nodoka passed away early on in this timeline, leave Genma and Ranma at a bit of a loss.
ò Ranma and Genma now travel further afield than canon, this time ending up in Helmajistan at around the time when Sousuke was a guerrilla.
ò Sousuke and Ranma become friends, but are separated. Their paths may cross again over the years.
ò Ranma and Genma find themselves with Mithril, Ranma as an operative like Sousuke at first, but later on, he becomes an instructor for advanced combat training.
ò Not sure what to do with Genma yet.
ò Ranma, through some fluke of luck, finds himself recruited into Urzu team to assist Sousuke in protecting Kaname.
ò Ranma is a little more socialised than Sousuke, but heÆs still hardly what youÆd call urbane (mainly for comedy purposes).
ò Because people will want to know ôpower levelsö and such nonsense, I see Ranma as being better at close quarters, but at range, and in an AS, Sousuke wins.
ò Might have Ranma develop anti-AS tactics for infantry.

I can see a Souskae trained by Ranma taking on Ranma in an AS.
Question becomes, can Ranma use an AS.
As for Genma... could make an interesting relationship tightrope where he walked the liness between the good Kalinin, and the bad... Gauron.
In fact... Seeing Genma with Ranma could well have spurred both on to explain their actions in FMP canon... Kalinion taking on Souskae, and Gauron taking on the twins to train.
I can see Genma needing to teach Ranma the forbidden techniques in a world filled with Black tech to just keep up. In fact... Kalinin seeing umisenkan could have lead to Mithril developing the cloak it for its M6's and Arbalest...
Not certain how you plan to bring Ranma into Mithril or Kaname/Souskae into Ranma though... Maybe the one tracking down Gauron to a meeting with Genma over some such... Or targeting Ranma for recriuitment (not that he or Genma would join)... or wanting to test the girls against Ranma...

So Ranma doesn't have his Neriman baggage? He just might work for you for free for that alone.
Although I do wonder where all the martial arts will be, or what Genma will be stealing or bartering his only son, or how will both Ranma and Genma entertain themselves. The two of them seem to have a certain wanderlust, which Mithril as a reactionary and mercenary organisation can't properly provide.
There is the option of having the pair providing unexpected and sudden reinforcements for beleaguered Mithril agents operating in the field over the years before parting again. Would it be better if Ranma came into the picture by legitimately studying at Kaname's high school to get the academic papers he needs to enter Tokyo University so that he may graduate from there with two Masters degree to beat his father's single Masters degree in Law?

My biggest thought on the nonsense is picking a set of rules and sticking with it. If Ranma can pull a Master Asia in chapter one he better be able to keep up with the plot. I think if you get into the later chapters of FMA you can really work him in as a spy. You don't need to take out an Arm Slave in straight up combat. You can always put a block of C-4 in that nice armored cockpit and watch the fun. Solid Snake never had any trouble taking out every single metal gear with stinger missiles. There are a lot of angles you can work you just have to build up to it.
Killing off Nodoka isn't a big deal to me. Her only really important arc was the Ryu one. After that she kinda becomes a jumble of fannon.
Genma- Take his leg and put come oak leaves on his shoulder. Just because he has rank doesn't mean you have to change his core personality. He can still be the old sly dog without the over the top comic relief.
