Just something I thought I would put up.

Chapter 111 of Sekirei has been scanlated, but (and no spoilers) nothing really happened. next chapter is when they're starting to explain things. I've been waiting for nothing! :headbanger:

Does anyone know how often Sekirei is released?

I think it is once a month?
I already put my comments in the regular thread.

marthf1 refers to the "What (manga) are you reading?" thread. You've created the first Sekirei specific thread that I'm aware of.

So it looks like Musubi is a battle maniac that understands what it means to fight. Or is she still an air-headed battle maniac that Gabriel Blessing likes to portray as?

I'm not sure how much of it is because she's an air head, and how much of it is because of a lack of real world experience. However, I'm sure she understands the reason behind her fight.

I would have made this thread some time ago, but as a once-a-monther, I felt there wasn't going to be enough activity to justify it. If you want to make it, go ahead. It seems kind of a waste, though, when there's already a thread for general manga discussion and comments.

I've been waiting for this explanation for a long, LONG time. I hope it isn't something completely retarded. Her insistence that she is neither human nor Sekirei has me worried. I'm hoping she's some kind of alien human hybrid, and not that Sekirei are Actually Human After All (or that humans are actually somehow Sekirei). I LIKE them as being weird aliens with superpowers that happen to look just like us.

I 'think' she was defining Sekirei as those who'd been modified, and as the only adult, she is the only one who hadn't gone through the process.

Hopefully, this'll explain what happened to sekirei No 07. There are nine people in the background of the last page of the new chapter.

It's likely that the Sekirei are the hybrids.

They can't be hybrids. The flashback shows that they were found as-is. You could bullshit them being hybrids if it wasn't for the fact that Numbers 1-9 were infants, and 00 was an adult. The rest of them were basically fertilized eggs in incubators, IIRC. THEY might have been made into hybrids. But the top 10% of Sekirei couldn't possibly be.

If the Sekirei turn out to be anything other than aliens with cool powers that happen to look human, I'm going to be very, very disappointed.

What happened to No.7
I assumed that was who was shoved into Mutsubi. I could be wrong, though.

Do you mean Musubi? Because that was sekirei number 08.

I'm not at all sure about this, but from my deduction of the manga; its one of two things.

Sekirei = original humans, where all of humanity is the descendant of such.

or

Sekirei = humans from the far future crash landing in the past, only to be discovered by humans again many many many years later.

I think it's just as likely that the Sekirei are some sort of supernatural entity, for that matter, given the ongoing bird symbolism and a few comments about gods and whatnot.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the 107 Sekirei were Miya's children.

Supernatural beings on a space ship with advanced technology?

I've heard that the Sekirei 112 raw is out, so hopefully it'll be scanlated soon.

I have 112 raw on my harddrive. Just need to convince someone to scanlate it...

I started reading this series a while back, and then dropped it around... I think around chapter 40, or perhaps somewhere in the 40s.

I've put off the anime for at least a year. I still haven't watched it actually, aside from the special episode.

But I started reading the manga and I marathoned that bitch. Couldn't leave my screen.

Sekirei 112 has 'finally' been scanlated.

The power and purpose of the Jinki has been established.

Was it just me, or does it look like Homura was a girl back then?

Not much beyond that, except that it looks like it 'is' fate leading the Sekirei to their Ashikabi, because Musubi and the rest seem to be fighting over the same Ashikabi in the past.

Should be up on Mangafox in a couple of days.
Now to wait for 113 to get scanlated, and hope we get more info.

Wait, so you're saying the whole Sekirei thing is about reincarnation?
