Shokugeki no Souma

Have to admit, the author actually pulled an unexpected move for once. Clever move to switch the match's theme ingredient from apples to salt when nobody was looking.

Well, at least Tadokoro managed to sway one judge. A total shutout would have been worse.

Honestly, it was really a 3-0 outcome disguised as something else. Anne outright admitted that the other two judges were on point with their critiques of Megumi's dish and didn't argue the point that Momo put out a better one. She essentially did the same thing that Gin did during the training camp shokugeki with Shinomiya. Gave Megumi a sympathy vote.

Nowhere did Anne hint that she thought Megumi's dish was the better one. She just chose to recognize her effort and potential, knowing that it wouldn't change the match's outcome.

Yeah, the outcome isn't even remotely salvageable, since either way you could call this match awful. Which is what has me saltier than Mike Ross, since this match could not have happened at all. Erina or Ishiiki could be out there, but nope. Gotta waste time on Tadakoro once more failing to take her next step.

Even worse is this opens the door even wider for Souma to job since it'd allow Central to have the numbers advantage since they're the villains.

Only bright side is that Joan of Arc reference coming back to haunt the author.

I don't think Tsukuda can afford to job Souma at the moment. SnS's rankings have been on the decline for a while, and they tanked HARD the last time Souma took a major loss (the Election finals). Another similar drop right now carries significant risk of putting the manga in axe territory. He can get away with doing something like this to Megumi, who some but not not an overwhelming number of readers care for. The MC is a whole different kettle of fish.

I hope you're right. I like the series well enough, but I'm just afraid of this getting drug out too much longer since the Azami arc is heading towards a hundred fucking chapters and bllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllargh.

Have any of you watched the Season 3 anime?

I took a look at the first episode, and I am quite disappointed how they glossed over the meeting with the Elite Ten, and then make the episode act like people are supposed to have some idea what the characters are talking about. Still, I hope the Festival Arc gets the fleshing out it deserves. We'll see.

I'm a couple episodes behind. I liked the Festival in the manga, so I watched all of that. From there it goes into Azami and Central, which was hard enough to stomach once and I don't care to have seconds.

I think they did a ova the Elite Ten meeting.

Yes, they did an S2 OVA that picks up immediately after the end of season 2, where Souma returned from the stagiare and leapt into some shokugeki. Then it moves into the meeting with the 10. Season 3's start was bugging me, too, so I looked around. I think they did the same with Season 2. Souma mentioned cooking with kids as his inspiration to beat Alice, but that wasn't an episode in Season 1.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to go and see if I can find the OVA in question.

New chapter for you to give thanks to!

So Saito joined the ultimate Elitist pricks of Central because...?

Oh right, bad writing.

...yeah, I don't get it either. Hell, I kind of approve of Saito, but just can't get over the fact that he went for Central.

Well, hopefully we'll get some clarification in the next chapter.

I have a feeling it's setting him up for being a thing in the future, since most of the Central peeps are getting obliterated.

My main hope is that Souma going "this is bad" is more about "well shit, I don't want to kick your ass now, but gotta do what ya gotta do".

Saito's joining Central feels like a bit of revenge. All those other elitist sushi chefs were stone-walling him and saying he didn't belong, no matter who he beat. By joining Central, he rises above them and dictates to them what they cook.

...yeah, Azami played Soumei like a frickin' fiddle. It really is a pity.

Well, so far the judges reaction is positive, but have to wait for the next chapter for the verdict.

This is proof that Shirou Emiya was originally Soma Yukihira before the Fuyuki Fire. Let the fanfics begin.

What I find impressive is the fact that Souma was able to find a perfect balance with all those ingredients and create a better dish.

Okay, with this, on the rebel side we have Souma, Takumi, Isshiki and Erina. Central has 1st, 2nd and 4th seats still in play. How will this go...?

Anyway, watched some more of the 3rd season, and I will say this much, I wanted to punch Kuga's face in just as much as when I read the manga, so well done for the anime staff.

Oh man, they did a really good job with Azami in the anime. The right voice, the right atmosphere and even the right music, great job for the anime creators in making the man an absolute hate sink.

New chapter is here!

>Erina is finally going to cook

Finally. If they off-panel this, I'm nuking Japan

I don't think they're going to off-screen this one.

Mostly because Momo is a 4th seat to Erina's 10th seat. No matter how ridiculous Erina's palate is, if she can't make a dish that's just plain better than her opponents, she's going to lose. Though I doubt she's been resting on her laurels this whole time, so we'll see how it goes.

Still, I'm wondering if Momo is capable of going at it with her all, and not fuck up. She's way too pissed off about something.

New chapter is up in Mangastream.

...Momo is going all in, it seems. As a matter of fact, it seems she's going to excessive levels of effort here.

Let's see just where Erina stands with her skills. Hopefully the next chapter actually shows us that.
