I don't want to bullshit you, you know? The first season is very strong production wise and it's clear they knew they had 24 eps from the beginning but there are a few pacing concerns since season 1 ends right after the tourney arc begins. There was some set-up parts to Souma's match with Alice that was either a special episode bundled with the manga, an OVA or something because it just got excised. The awkward way the first season ended also kicked an important plot point into the ether until fished out of the soup at the start of season 2.
The voice acting in the sub is superb and when they actually do stuff it's kind of neat but there are a lot of One Piece style slow panning shots and such to eat run time like a motherfucker. The animation for the foodgasm spots are awesome too. But there's the way they had to adapt it, such as the first meeting with the rest of the Elite 10 being relegated to an OVA which basically leaves the first five minutes of season 3 being an awkward recap for people who might have missed it. It speeds through content at times, feeling rushed while also going nowhere and by the end of the second cour of season 3. you can hear the plot snapping as they draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag it out so as to not adapt too much and save some for season 4.
It's okay but it's not like you'll die if you don't see it. I want to give the anime a huge stamp of approval but I don't want to be responsible if you come out the other end feeling kind of gypped. The third season also mirrors the first as it stops at the start of the big event too. I'll admit I'm hyper critical and super negative but if you can stomach a little awkward pacing then you could probably blaze through everything without thinking about it.
