Hmmm... is the site down again... I was in the middle of checking it for a few updated, like Task force 43, which at least had some activity in the thread if not a update, when the site stopped responding.
EDIT1: seems back up
EDIT2: Since I happened to see that it looked like new members were no longer blocked, I had finally decided to cave in and become a member, as I wanted to leave a post in a particular thread. once I got past the deceptive Capcha, and verification email, I find a new issue.
It specifically notes the only forum I should be able to see is the New Members one, and that I need to post there to get fully activated. The problem is I can as far as tell see the whole forum *except* that, and a search did not turn it up.
Hello PCHeintz72,
Thank you for joining SB. In order to join us fully you now need to post in the New New Members Forum which should be the only forum you can currently see. Once you do this the server will automatically upgrade you to full access. Be advised that it can take half an hour for your post to be noticed so be patient, it will happen.
If after about an hour you still haven't gotten full access feel free to message The Observer for help.
Cheers,
The Observer
EDIT3: Nevermind I see the problem... they still show the above, but it is not valid... if you wait long enough for the message banners at the top to scroll sideways... you eventually get the following instead:
Welcome, PCHeintz72. If you're seeing this, you've registered and logged in but your account hasn't yet been approved. Right now, all new accounts require staff approval before they can post and view the New Members Forum (which all accounts have to post in at least once as a last line anti-spam detection measure.) I try to clear out the wait list at least once every day, so the wait time should not be longer than that barring extraneous circumstances. As a rule, accounts are approved unless we have reason to believe they're spam accounts, they're using proxy services to register, or we have reason to believe a given user already has an account (we prefer to avoid users having multiple 'sockpuppet' accounts as these are against our rules and tend to be problematic from a community standpoint.) Sorry for any inconvenience this causes. -Cpl_Facehugger.
I did not see it as I made the mistake of immediately jumping around trying to find the thread to post in.
