The amazons?

"Husband I kill!" Shampoo declared as she descended upon the suprised martial artist with two very sharp swords in her hands.
"Whoa!" Ranma dove out of the way and rolled to his feet. "Shampoo, I thought we finished with this husband business back in China!"
"It's the husband part that worry him the most?" Hiroshi asked.
Daisuke shrugged. "Death threats don't have the same impact on martial art gods, I guess."
"I ain't a god of martial art." Ranma muttered. Twisting to the side to dodge a sword strike and ducking under another. Then he was dancing in circles around the Amazon, always keeping a step ahead of her wild swings. "But yeah, what's with that too? Your grandma told me we were even when I left. What changed?"
Shampoo jumped away from Ranma and glared. "What changed is that too too stupid husband didn't think! You god of screw ups, You cursed us!"
Ranma distractedly let through Shampoo's new charge, suddenly deep in thought. "No I don't think I'm that sort of god either. Besides I saw your fields back then. The crops were twice as high as any I've ever seen. The harvest had to be great."
"Yes, harvest was very good. Food was plentiful and tasty. Amazons and animals grew strong and healthy. There was so much of it we shared with neighbouring tribes and gained much goodwill and respect."
Ranma nodded."Yeah, no need to thank me or anything. But stop calling me husband? I really don't need that right now."
"Stupid husband still not thinking. Problem isn't this year, it's next year and the years after that. Growing such strong crop left the land depleted. Amazon land won't be able to feed the village for years to come!"
Ranma scratched the back of his head and laughed weakly. "Heh. Sorry about that?"
Shampoo raised her swords, not looking the least bit pacified. "Too late for sorries. You die!"
