I'm not sure if it could actually be considered a "Dark" fic but At the Brink of the Dawn and the Darkness is incredibly good in my opinion.

Have read a couple now, Starcrossed was so ridiculously huge I never bothered with reading it all, plus the Imperials was starting to get shafted when I quit it. Drive you Wild by Obaona was damn good, too bad most of his/her stuff take place in timeperiods I don't care for (NJO is shit). Fortune's Gate is looking interesting so far. The Power of Choice is good, but I'm starting to get really pissed off at the blatant Revan-nerfing, he gets wounded in every single confrontation and admits his inferiority to people he should be able to raep without the slightest effort.
My favorite Star Wars fic, and I cant thinks of anything wrong with it excepting the formatting is off putting because the authors experimenting whit different styles.

A Squelch of Empires is entertaining in large part due to the characterizations presented within. The Heart of Darkness is also a personal favorite of mine due to how fucking evil Leia is, all the while remaing Leia in the process. ^_^
I did not like the "Naboo chronicles" trilogy. The logic was mediocre, the planning shoddy, the execution pathetic, and the "engineering" done by Anakin was retarded enough to make me want to hit my head on a wall.
While "The Naboo Chronicles" did not appeal to me whatsoever, the author's other story, The Inquest, I found be to VERY enjoyable.
I have to second this recommendation. A very well written and entertaining story. As much as it follows the game, it also deviates from it in a logical manner, all the while enthralling you with the characters within the story.

Bad Boys JEDI Style
Fair warning: it's over 750,000 words long and more soap opera than action. The biggest threat encountered so far was Jabba the Hutt... or possibly his poetry. Then again, he sent a bounty hunter out to capture someone who criticised his poetry...
The Galactic Enquirer is at least quasi-evil as well.

Angel of Alderaan has Vader finding out Padme is still alive just before the Death Star fires. At least I think that's what it's called, I know it has Angel and Alderaan in the title though.

Impossible Destiny: A fic where Vader lives past Endor and becomes a consultant to the Jedi and New Republic. It mostly focuses on the relationship between Anakin and Jaina, and how prophecies have screwed up their lives. Prophecies for those not in the know are the Chosen One and Sword of the Jedi that Luke provides in Destiny's Way(?). It's a good read even though it only has 3 chapters plus a prologue up now. There probably will be more chapters as we start approaching Christmas and the author gets on Winter Break for college.

Reconciled and Shatterpoint
A NJO AU where an Anakin who's galaxy went under (in the typical everything we've ever known is dead and gone and our last chance is to send someone back in time that Harry Potter and Naruto fandoms are rife with).
The first story deal with Anakin dealing with the fact that he's in a parallel universe where he died and Tahiri is now 10 years younger than him (she died during the Voxyn hunt that he didn't go on) and pregnant with her universes Anakin's child. I think it follows Destiny's Way's plotline, but since I haven't read the book yet I don't know.
The second story just got started and their's not much to say about.

For Such a Time as This
The Jedi get disbanded at the same time the Sith go underground. But one Jedi decides to keep the Jedi Order still going (I think it was Hoth but I'm not sure been a while since I've read the story) in secret. They found a planet and have pretty much taken it over and started a temple there. Anyways the story starts around the time that TPM would have started except it has Qui-Gon as a History Professor and Obi-Wan as a Senatorial aid. Long and has a lot of substance to it, a very good read.
The only downside like all the other one's that are posted on theforce.net boards is that you have to wade through all of the replies to get to the story posts.

Heart of Darkness, by Cka3ka, qualifies under 'other type': her father raises her from age ten, with the help of Wrenga Jixton, among others. The story manages to plausibly make her a not-exactly-evil Sith, without making the Sith into sparkly vampires.

It is a fic that authored by Wawoot,the same one who make Bad Boy JEDI Style. But his Geocities Account is over and done with,and on his FF.Net account, he said that he retired permanently from fanfiction, and he deleted ALL his fic, from FF.Net, AND his own Harddrive.
Maybe you should ask around on the net if anyone saved his work.
And if you find it,please send me a copy, will you?? Thanks.

Easily the best Star Wars AU I've ever read. Basically, evil Empire galaxy creates a portal into the NJO world and begins taking over because... well, they're evil. The likes of Thrawn, Piett and... Grand Admiral Solo begin plowing their way through an unprepared New Republic. :lol:
