Well, you could direct link really easy on old TFF too. Just click Posted: in the top left if the post and it gave you a pop-up with a link directly to that post.

I think it's the post number/url link in the corner of the posts. I don't recall seeing that during oTFF's run. Does make it a lot easier to link to a specific post.
Yeah, this specifically. I don't recall the last time I've bothered to direct-link a post so it might've been there from Day 1 on nTFF and I never noticed until now. But I know it wasn't on oTFF, or at least as convenient as this.

Hi all!

We've recently resolved an unreported issue: the breaking of the quick theme selector on the bottom of the page. Until our host actually fixes the problem, the selector has been DISABLED. If you wish to change your theme, you can do so via the User Control Panel.

We'll have a few more board changes (for the better *crosses fingers*) and announcements in the next month. :)

My mobile page seems to be logging me out once a day now. It's not a general thing to my mobile browser since my other web accounts aren't affected. Any idea what's going on? Desktop log-in is unaffected too, same browser on both (Chrome)

Still getting this issue. Did the site maybe get a new cookies setting or something recently?

It seems to be an issue with TFF only.

I have had the same problem for over 6 months,
The log in details are there but Chrome wont keep me logged in.

The "go to first unread post" arrow shaped button doesn't work right for me anymore. It takes me to the page in the thread where the last unread post is, but I have to manually scroll down and find it myself. This just started like three or four days ago. Anyone else having this issue?

Working for me. Using Win10, version 53.0.2785.116 m (64-bit) of Chrome.

That said, there are times when it gets a bit confused when there's a lot of images to load in a thread.

And suddenly the "go to first unread post" button started working properly again. But now the forum is logging me out once a day for no apparent reason. Weird.

I just wanted to make a note of this- it's been, at this point, quite literally years since we've had issues with our admin/mod team. I was reading through some archives and there was some heavy shade getting thrown while everyone was settling in, and there's never been anything to address that imbalance.

So I'd just like to take a moment to say thanks to Wata, Ero, Chrono, and GH! You're doing a great job :D

(I forgot who the third mod was making this post so I looked up who it was... Souffle hasn't been active since 2013. Anyone know if he's alright?)

I think he's still active on #tff IRC, but I've not been on it in a while.

Haha, thanks. Have to assume it's got more to do with the dip in traffic than any genius or magnanimity on our part though.

Thanks for asking about Souffle, I spoke with him and he's expressed a desire to see the role go to someone more active on the forum. I will be discussing plans with The Ero Sennin, and already have a few people on my modmin shortlist.

I realize that it was the moon that blotted out the sun and threw most of the shade that Shirotsume was referencing,

But I think it would be better to have an election for Souffle's replacement, rather than the Admins appointing someone.

I don't believe wata or Ero would lead us astray, but I think it would be a better, you know, moral mandate to do an election.

Since we handed the keys to Wata, I trust that he'll do the right thing

Same. I'm the one that set up the elections, and it was meant as a one time deal. If they decide they want to run the election again, that's their prerogative imo.

I trust Wata and Ero to do this right.

Do we really need to replace Souffle? He may not be too active on the forums, but last I checked, he's pretty active on the IRC and keeping him as a mod gives some amount of legitimacy to the channel.

He's asked to be replaced  since his last visit to the forum was too long ago to really feel in touch with it anymore.

Also, thanks for the notes of support T.L, Shiro. Means a lot to me. :D

Was this really annoying enough for you to post (nearly the same) message on multiple threads? <_< At worst, the banner is harmless - it goes away after you are logged in.

It is really annoying.

It does not go away after logging in.

It makes it look like there is no one in charge of the forum again.
Switch back to the stock theme and you will see what we mean.

Yes, it is very worth putting in multiple threads.

As T.L. mentioned it looks the forum look un-cared for.  Add to it that it doesn't go away after logging in, as well as it being in such a valuable area of real estate...

For me it has gone from 'Pet Peeve' to 'Aggravating Annoyance'.

Getting close to post ID 1.3 million (number of posts actually on the forum still lags by about 25000).
