My wallet weeps tears of blood... they haven't put up anything I want to buy... but I know they will... :help:

Hmm, today's deals aren't that appealing. I either have the game already or am not interested in it.

Well, there is the Witcher 2, but I haven't finished one yet...

Heard good things about Borderlands.

And oh look all the DLC comes with it. :D
Son of a bitch. I would really like to expand my group of game buddies on Borderlands to include the TFF Gamers Steam group, but I'm not budgeted for another game until next week. :(

And yeah, it's a steal at $7.50, especially since the DLC packs come with it. Recettear at $5 is also a very good deal. I'd strongly suggest to get both while you can.

I seem to recall from last year, there's always a good chance of stuff coming up on the daily deals again, sometimes cheaper than the first time.

EDIT: Oh wait, I remember now. Don't buy anything that isn't a daily deal until the last day, because it might pop up as one.

Day 2 of the sale is... substandard. Braid and Shogun 2 are the only good games being discounted. Well, okay, MAYBE Heroes V/Just Cause 2, but I'm not too crazy about what I've heard of them.

I'm most tempted by the stuff that is unlikely to show up as daily deals, like the packs. Square Enix Summer Collector Pack, Star Wars Collection...

Just Cause 2 is the most amazing thing, and at FIVE DORRA it's probably one of the best deals all summer.

Get it. Get it. Get it.

Borderlands will probably show up again later in the sale. The last day usually has a 'best of' kinda thing where they repeat the most popular sales.

It gets better if you download the Superman and Unlimited Ammo Mod.

Nothing of note to speak of. Shogun I would like but I cant justify that to myself even at the discounted price.

Also Steam is shitting the bed. Bursts of downloads at 600kb/s for about 20 secs and then nothing for a couple of minutes. :|

Oh come on now, it's finally the time to grab Railworks and their 2000 pieces of DLC. It's finally on sale!

Picked up Borderlands. It'll probably finish downloading, eventually.

Bought Borderlands, Witcher 2, and Worms Reloaded this morning, and bought Just Cause 2 and its DLC just now. This sale is gonna kill my wallet. Oh well. Good games are worth a little money pain.

I think I will wait on installing JC2, cause Steam is having issues with bandwidth.

Oh-ho-ho. Steam sale updated, hello KotoR. Or rather, hello KotOR, Force Unleashed II, Empire at War and Battlefront II. That's a bit better, but I still own KotOR, don't like TFU and am unimpressed by RTS games. Still a better sale than what they had.

I'm actually kind of excited about this sale. Shogun 2 and Braid are both probably worth getting, and I can't recommend Just Cause 2 highly enough. Actually I can. It got Yahtzee's game of the year award. For a guy who's typically had problems with sandbox games, he enjoyed it enough to give it GotY. It is really fun, and definitely worth 5 dollars.

Looking at heros of might and magic right now. How do you all feel about those?

Snagged JC2 and Star Wars Battlefront II.

SW:BF2 was a game I played on my PS2 long ago. I liked it, but I hated how the PS2's lack of network functionality hobbled it compared to the Xbox version. Looking forward to earning the badass weapon upgrades again.

edit: I'm a dumb shit. SW:BF2's PC version is insanely bug-riddled to the point of literal unplayability, making the Xbox version the only viable network-capable edition of the game.

To make matters worse, JC2 is a Windows Live game, meaning that no version of Windows previous to Vista can run it, and I'm running WinXP. Playing it will have to wait until I'm eventually forced to update to Win7.

Both of these issues could have been apparent to me had I not impulse-bought. :sweat2:

That's my problem as well, unless it's something I really want to play/own, i'm not really going to buy it this year.

Bioshock 2 is really tempting, but I don't feel a huge desire to play it.

Mmmm... first time I've actually been on Steam during one of these sales (and had any money to speak of).

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations or condemnations for any of these games?

Titan's Quest
Torchlight
Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes
Overlord 1
Overlord 2
Fatal Labrinyth
Aztaka
Sacred 2
Dreamfall

I could probably buy up all of these, but I kinda don't wanna waste room on my hard drive on shit games.

I could go by the demos, but flashy cutscene graphics do not a good game make.

BTW, I'm already planning on getting the Oblivion pack. Anyone know where I could find any interesting/fun/perverted mods (and know if can I mod Oblivion if I get it off Steam)?

You can mod Steam's version of oblivion. (Make sure your game folder is not in Program Files in Vista/7, you'll get lots of errors if you do have it there.)

99.9% of mods are available on tesnexus.com. The few aren't, are usually from 2ch or Naver.

There some lists of favorite mods, faqs, and troubleshooting on the Official forums.

(There's also an Oblivion mods topic floating around in the sub-forum somewhere.)

Overlord 1 and 2 are great. Go play them.

Torchlight is a revamped Diablo 1, and nothing more. That's right, Diablo -1-.

Another source of mods for oblivion is planetelderscrolls. I think you'll have to make a fileplanet account to dl, but it saves you time later when for some inexplicable reason the nexus version of the mod is in 9 parts and three patches, and planetelderscrolls has an updated version in a single file. And I think there are a few mods on planetelderscrolls that aren't on nexus.
