Me, I'm buying Aliens vs Predator and Darksiders. I'm somewhat tempted by Magicka and Battlefield Bad Company 2. Not sure about those, anyone got any opinions?

Mmmm... first time I've actually been on Steam during one of these sales (and had any money to speak of).

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations or condemnations for any of these games?

Titan's Quest
Torchlight
Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes
Overlord 1
Overlord 2
Fatal Labrinyth
Aztaka
Sacred 2
Dreamfall

I could probably buy up all of these, but I kinda don't wanna waste room on my hard drive on shit games.

I could go by the demos, but flashy cutscene graphics do not a good game make.

BTW, I'm already planning on getting the Oblivion pack. Anyone know where I could find any interesting/fun/perverted mods (and know if can I mod Oblivion if I get it off Steam)?
Wait. Do NOT buy unless it's a daily sale or it's already dirt cheap anyway (like $5). Oblivion is fairly likely to show up on the daily again, so don't buy it at the current price.

I can recommend Titan's Quest, and Sacred 2 which both have Diablo-derived gameplay. Note, neither of these are played for the stories, just the gameplay.

Also, today's sale got me Bioshock 2.

EDIT: I guess I should note I only got Bioshock 2 because I own all the other good deals. Darksiders, AVP, and Battlefield.

I enjoyed Bad Company 2's single player. I'm bad at the MP though soz.

Is Arma 2 or 2 Worlds worth buying?

I'm a lot less impressed today. I mean, 50% off stuff like Modern Warfare 2 or AC: Brotherhood is good, but they're still $20. I'm really only interested in the stuff that drops to $5-$10.

In which case, I'm thinking Sniper Ghost Warrior, Tropico 3, and I dunno... maybe Transformers. What's everyone else's opinion?

If you've been wanting them, now is the time to grab Torchlight, Defense Grid or Dragon Age: Origins.

Picked up torchlight today, seemed worth the $2.50 or so it cost.

Also hit up a used game store's buy 2 get one free sale. Scored Legacy of Kain: Defience, Wild Arms 3, and Fear Effect: Retro helix. I had 10 in store credit, so in total I was only out about $13 for the whole set.

I feel kinda stupid. I didn't notice, but anything on the front page that says "Franchise Sale" means the daily deal applies to like, everything in the series. Like, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is $19.99, which I thought was too high. But if you click that, you find out the first two games are going for $6.79 each, and the three-pack collection is $27.19.

That's also why DA Origins is on sale, which I didn't realize at first since I only saw DA2 on the storefront. Man, I need to pay more attention.

EDIT: I ended getting the Assassin's Creed pack. I mostly only wanted the first two, but figured I should complete my collection while it's on sale.

Picked up Brotherhood today. I already had the 2nd one, and the first one isn't worth the money.

Same. Now I just wait for Fallout and Alpha Protocol. Maybe Prototype.

Kane and Lynch 2 is five dollars, for about the billionth time.

Played it.

I guess the stigma from the Gamespot scandal carried over to the second game, because it's actually pretty decent. Definitely underrated.

How are you guys doing for the Camp Activites? I've only got 6 tickets total since I'm unwilling to buy a game to enter a contest.

I have a copy of Killing Floor ($10 no character packs) and Borderlands GOTY ($20 includes the DLCs) for various reasons, and they're burning a hole in my pocket. I'm willing to trade them for Prototype ($20) or Brotherhood ($20). PM me.

I'll second any recommendations for Recettear and Defence Grid. If you like that sort of game you won't be disappointed.

Oh, and any Beat Hazard players, I don't recommend the Golden Ship. It's easier to spot, glows like a power up, and has a better spread than the standard ship, but it's hitbox is huge. It's super easy to die with it, and that more than outweighs the benefits.

Eh, mostly just been doing the simple non game related ones, same reason as you, and because nothing really been jumping out at me. Been mostly using this as a chance to stock up on older games that I missed out on due to lack of a sufficent comp/funds. Like the half life pack for example. Good to know about the Golden Ship, though I might end up grabbing it anyway if nothing goes on sale by the 10th that has a prize to redeem

Well yeah, but I was talking about useful reviewers.

I'm thinking Trine, Alpha Protocol, Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword, Doom 3 Pack. What about you guys?

Picking up Fallout today.

picking up the fallout NV DLC. $3 a pop is a decent cost for them.

Edit: For those of you who don't have it, Trine is damn good for the amount of the sale. It's also got a sequel coming this summer, so it's a nice way to see what the game is all about.

Grabbed Trine, been waiting for that to go on sale. Any thoughts about either Alpha protocol or Bionic Commando series?

I've mostly heard good things about Alpha Protocol. I went with that and Trine. Dropped Doom and Mount & Blade, I want to save money for later.

Alpha Protocol is pretty fun. The sidescrolling remake Bionic Commando is awesome, haven't tried the rest.

Hahaha, now this is more like it! Grabbed New Vegas and the DLC. I think this is it for me; I've spent $30 and there isn't much else that I'm interested in. Maybe VtM: Bloodlines? Eh.

Also, Alpha Protocol was last year's game of the year. Best writing of any game I played, great characters and a great spy/action story. Too bad about the nitpicks...

Just remember that you have to download a patch to makt VtM: Bloodlines work, but the Steam forum section for VtM: Bloodlines does provide links to the patches

Just got a Beat Hazard update, mentions fixing the hitbox on the golden ship. Anyone that has it able to confirm that it's better now?

Also, seems that the new Striptease achievement will be giving a ticket later in the sale.

Edit: Just found a confirmation from the creator, the larger hitbox on the golden ship was a error, and is now fixed.
