Actually, English is more an amalgamated evolution of nordic/latin/gaelic tongues.

because all of those inferior languages didn't have everything they needed to survive the test of time which is why they are all pretty much dead languages now.

I suppose Italian is its real natural evolution.

Still the English language is superior BECAUSE it can integrate words in fact the entire language is simply that, one giant conglomeration. That's why it'll be one of the few languages that will survive the test of time, it evolves to adapt which is fundamentally the single most important aspect to survival in any shape or sense.

And I for one am proud to speak it, even if I constantly use it in a sarcastic texas drawl thick enough to grow hair on your chest.

I just had a fridge logic moment for this series. Technically speaking, Asuna died before Kirito defeated Kayaba, so she should have died in the real world as well. However, Clyde had the only resurrect in the game, and was there at the moment. So I'm guessing the instant Kirito beat Kayaba, all the players were released from their paralysis, and Clyde resurrected Asuna. Asuna lives, there are no plot holes for the current story arc, proceed to ALO for the continuing saga.

If that was the case, Asuna would have reappeared on the 75th floor. Not some sky platform viewing Aincrads destruction.

She only lived due to Kayaba's whims. A 'reward' for Kirito on the slim chance he defeated him. That's it.

episode 22.

It finally happened. And The Blow Up (yes, capital letters) was just as good as I was hoping it would but then the show went a surprised me further and actually had the girl confess! I'm actually feeling a little sympathetic to Suguha right now, poor girl. Having her world world torn to shreds TWICE in the same day.

She needs a good strong humpin' to cheer her up. And in a Hentai world Kirito is going to be the one to do it, I'm expecting the doujinshi to come out any day now.

More than Teh Blow Up, I enjoyed the crowning moments Awesome

* Kirito chanelled of the GOD of GAR (Guts... who else were you expecting) and went to town on everything in that zone, that was just so well done.
* Leafa braving all odds to save Kirito's flame.

Kinda goes to show that grinding out levels in BADASS runs in the family.

Damn.... What else is there to say.....

After watching the first 15 episodes I went and watched .Hack but this last episode blew me away.
The sheer depth and power of the emotions....
Wow!

Baka-Tsuki took down most of Alicization: Beginning. I don't know why.

Good thing I just finished it. -_-

Good who translated it couldn't stand the criticism he got and left Baka Tsuki, along with his translations.

They're not gone... they just are posted on a blog instead of baka-tsuki's site. Luckily Baka-tsuki redirects there.

"what if Neo was cool"

that is what you were missing

Still, it's refreshing to see an anime protagonist who is actually aware of monogamy and the concept of a healthy romantic relationship for once.
That's one of the best parts of the whole damn thing. This is one series where I support the main couple sticking together. Badass couple, Back to back, Papa Wolf and Mama Bear. SAO got it right. CMOA after CMOA.

So on Space Battles there's a thread called <a href='http://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/game-changer-df-sao.243133/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Game Changer [DF/SAO]</a>

I'm not gonna lie, mostly, I was disapointed that "DF" stood for "Dresden Files"....

And not "Dwarf Fortress".

That made me wonder....

What if the second arc was a game about Dworfs instead of elves?

What if the Aincraid was a Minecraft server?

Ah, I wonder.

Episode 23.

Kirito went through the door, that was it.

That under-developed Recon kid used self-destruct magic, but somehow Sugu shouting "the penalty for that is really high!" doesn't seem like that big a deal compared to episode three, where Kirito literally watched all his friends Die For Real and he couldn't save them.

Anyway I thought that he'd definitely smash through the guards either by using an illusion to turn into Skullipede the Scary, or the cavalry would show up. Unfortunately the cavalry wasn't his friend Klein, but those other players he helped out a while back.

I think that's the problem with this entire Alfheim thing conceptually, actually; compared to the omnipresent threat of death that made SAO serious, there's nothing like that going on here.

I just... watching Kirito play by the rules is annoying, when he no longer has to.

I'd rather see him hack into the server and free Asuna that way, rather than watch him play a WOW raid.

This whole arc just seems underplayed.

Even the guys stuck in the Virtual Torture Dimension was just... holographic brains with a bar graph over them labeled "pain" and stuff.

Take a page out of Nasu's book and describe what it's like to be in the belly of Angra Mainyu; this is a visual art media, about experiencing delusional dream-like states in a virtual world. This should be full-blown psychodelica, real fast-pace surrealist crazypants insanity. I want to see that acid trip.

I feel like everything from "confronting Kayaba" forward was phoned in by the creative stuff, especially the original author.

The Fairy Dance arc is purposely written that way, apparently. It makes sense - in SAO, every fight was truly a matter of life or death, the slightest wrong move could reduce you to 0 HP and kill you off for good. ALO is supposed to look tame in comparison - notice Suguha/Leafa's reaction to Recon blowing himself up - "The death penalty for that is really high!", then she forgets about it seconds later.

For contrast, <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=AIFtX-C3m0I#t=80s' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Asuna's reaction to a pair of players getting oneshot by Skull Reaper</a>. Absolute horror.

SAO wasn't a game, not with everyone permanently trapped inside and threatened with possible death at any given moment. ALO is just people playing an MMO, safe in the knowledge that it's just a game. The drama here is that the real-world stakes are high, and among the playerbase at large only Kirito and Yui truly know about this.

As for Kirito hacking ALO, that's technically what he and Yui have been doing all along - his stats are rape-tier, Yui's got info on the surrounding area and even on other players nearby, and to top it off they cracked a door that wasn't intended to be openable. He's not just blatantly going Sneakers on the game, but he's still got a major advantage over everyone else.

I understand future arcs where Kirito and crew basically join the MMO police return to the whole "actual life-threatening risks are present" thing, so we'll just have to hope the SAO anime is renewed for another season.

SAO isn't like .Hack in that the hackers/cheaters/beaters like Kirito can openly hack the system without consequences. When Kirito started ALO he was told by Yui that while he has the skills, if he's caught by an admin or moderator they could stop him. Right now he's a bug in the system, but if he openly exploits the other bugs in the system then the admins will start fixing/repairing those bugs and Kirito is going to have less leeway in ALO.

I'm guessing that once the admins find out that someone opened the door, they'll try to find out the who/what/when/where/how about it and try to shut it down, giving Kirito only a little time to find Asuna and free her.

The new side story The Day Before is hilarious! Shout out to Wizard of Oz was totally cool.

Also, new pics for Alicization volume 11 is up, and it looks like Kirito will forever be (inadvertently) stealing girls hearts, virtual or real. Maybe because he's already committed...

Eh, all the new pics seem to focus more on Eugeo. Unless I'm looking at it wrong...

iirc, all characters in ALO had the same damage threshold, it's just that with more skill and familiarity with the system you can deal more damage and take less in return. At least that's how they explained how the system worked in the LN, which makes how Kirito one-shotting the two salamanders with beginner's equipment in the beginning of the arc such a shocking thing. It pretty much was the equivalent of a martial arts master beating the piss out of some punks with mono-molecular edged swords with a long blade of grass.

So it has been a long time since I read the novel, but I am pretty sure I don't remember Sugou being that over the top. :huh!:
Now you got the visual to go with the words.

Well, breakdown of Sugou part 2 will be on the last episode then.

And as much of a bastard he was in this episode, I still hate Noumi (in Accel World) more than him anyway.

Remember that in the LN, Kirito had to hax (thanks again Kayaba for that secret) and go admin mode and spawn an excalibur just to beat Oberon's ass. Otherwise Asuna would have been a vegetable bride and Kazuto would have been SOL, all his questing would have been for naught and have Suguha even more at her bonehead loser brother-cousin.
Anyhow ep25 should still have the IRL confrontation and Asuna's awakening.
