Chapter 23 up.

So that's that.

*Speculation:

Nobody actually died.
Well, we already know from the novels that a certain someone didn't die; it's probably not a huge leap to suggest that it remains that way.

More likely what happened was that the people who 'died' went into a coma that cleared up upon the game being cleared.

Or something.

EDIT: I'm probably alone in this, but I'd kill for Sharramon to skip book 2 right now and just go to book 3. Side stories are cool and all, but I want to see the direct continuation.

Chapter 24 is up. Just about to read it now.

EDIT: Oh my. Not what I was hoping for, but a better than it could have been.

I know that.

Doesn't really make it any less depressing.

You fuckers just had to bump this up where I could see it now and not in a week or two when they've got the last chapter, didn't you?

*is also crying bitch tears, even though he suspects they're going to end up unwarranted*

As a matter of fact, I think it's entirely possible that he was bullshitting on a number of issues. Doesn't make it any less sad right now.

If you mean the last chapter for the volume...it's already finished.

Just gotta go through the editing process.

Just wanna point out, that here;

Lyfa: "Come, hurry! On to Yggdrasil!"
A girl Kirito met in <<ALO>>. The race of her fairy avatar is <<Sylph>>.
Yui:"Papa is carefree as usual."
A young girl AI who adores Kirito as her papa. Supports Kirito as a <<Navigation Pixie>> in <<ALO>>.
Kirito:"Oh ... how exciting. At this rate I want to fly all the way."
The strongest <<Solo Player>> at <<SAO>>. Turns to a <<Spriggan>> swordsman at <<ALO>>.

and then here again;

Asuna: "Quickly...quickly come and save me, Kirito-kun..."
A captured girl inside the high specification VRMMO [Alvheim Online].

---

First image. Strongest solo player of SaO is now a spriggan swordsman of ALO. This means he lived, if he died, this wouldn't happen. Since Volume 3 is supposedly the sequel to volume 1, while volume 2 are side-stories. Secondly, Alvheim Online's acronym would be ALvheim Online. Thus; ALO.

I'm pretty sure those were already mentioned.

I knew that before and that scene still made me almost cry.

EDIT: Ok, never mind. Those specific pics hadn't been mentioned, just that the third book was a continuation of the first.

Actually, way back when I mentioned that 'a certain someone didn't die' it was pretty much a direct nod toward that.

Pretty much everyone here who looked at the novel illustrations knows that neither of them died. It still doesn't dull the impact that good writing has.

:headbanger: Apparently I can't read. I must have skipped right past that.

Just like pretty much everybody already knows what's going to happen in Volume 2.

Ah, that'll be a depressing volume.

For srs.

EDIT: I have to admit, I'm looking forward to volume 3 though. Any series where one of the characters is named Eugene promises to be entertaining.

Chapter 25 is up. I'll be back after I read it.

EDIT: Done, and its a short little ditty. But it's a great ending, and it makes me want to read what happens next really badly.

Wow... Very good. It was a moving book to read. I seriously hope they skip the side stories and continue with the sequel. While they would be interesting the entire time i'm reading them I'll be unhappy and unable to enjoy them while waiting for the continuation of the story. Possibly translating them after the actual story is complete would be better if you ask me.

Yes, Kirito's a badass. Two years of atrophied muscles and he gets his ass up out of bed anyway.

"What? This is nothing. I was dead when I killed Kayaba Akihiko, a little weakness is nothing. It's only a flesh wound."

So I was looking around the Baka-Tsuki page of this series, and I found a piece of interesting information. The fourth book is either coming out sometime later this month, or is possibly already out. I'm assuming its not out yet since there's no chapter list for it up, but its pretty fun to see that new books are coming out for it.

EDIT: Again, I can't read. Its already out, the chapter list is up, as is the "Novel Illustrations" page.

Yeah, just saw that. Looked at the illustrations, and it looks like there's going to be some FUCK YEAH-ing at the end.

Now to wait. ;_;

...Why do I got the feeling that Lyfa's his sis?

Oh, that's because she is. Lol.

It seems that your tears were unwarrented, still an awesome story. I want to go read it again, but I don't know if I'll wake up on time tomorrow if I do.

So, unless it was translated before and I just didn't notice, the prologue for Volume 3 is now translated. So it looks to me like they're continuing the story, rather than doing the side stories next.

Well, that's a good thing. I hadn't noticed the translation before.

But it's really awkward; it almost feels like a babelfish translation. Which is weird, because Volume 1 was nowhere near this clunky.

I was just thinking that it was unedited, but you're right, that's terribly bad, even for an unedited work.

Maybe someone else tried to do the translation and failed miserably, but put it up anyways?
