A chapter of few words and lots of violence. Everything important was displayed there.

You dun goofed, Nine-arts. Shouldn't have killed A̶n̶d̶r̶o̶i̶d̶ ̶1̶6̶ Eldor Kwon.
Well, that seems to have been Elder Kwon's plan from the start to prevent Shioon (and the Sun-Woo Clan) from being associated with Nine-Arts. Of course, I would have like to have seen Elder Kwon underestimating Shioon's will again by successfully talking Nine-Arts off the proverbial ledge, but it wouldn't be quite as HOLYSHITWEREGONNADIEAIIIEERUNFUCKERRUN pandemonium as we're getting right now.

I read most of Breaker back before it was finished, now I've got to start from the beginning to finish it up because it's been so long. Twas decent, so that's not a huge chore, still, now there's another I must read after that. Oh well.

195 is up on the usual suspects.

Nine-Arts shows why he is the master. And shows that he still wants to save Shioon from being drawn to the dark side by completely destroying him in a single blow. And Elder Brother is going to pay the piper now.

I really do like the Wuxia tropes that this series has. Everyone has so much past and links to each other that you could probably make a tapestry out of it.

Goddamn it, Shioon. Even when you go berserk you can't get the job done. At least break one of his hands next time.

Well that was anticlimactic as fuck.

Also are we seriously supposed to suddenly not view NAD as a pathetic chode who at this point would do everyone a favor by just killing himself? I mean, it's painting it like he's somehow a good guy for not just killing Shioon and still 'caring' about him. But literally everything that's gone wrong so far can be laid at his feet because of actions he's taken as a result of being one of the most weak willed and overemotional characters in the series.

It's not like this is some big ploy and he intentionally hid Shioon from Kaiser or anything. He was literally a mindless pawn until like an hour ago in universe because he was that much of a fucking idiot.

"Breaker New Wave" has totally turned into a Korean "Strongest Disciple Kenichi" with a bit of Harem tossed in. Just less focused on humor.

I hope not because both those had a bad last half (or in Veritas' case, no conclusion at all).

Kenichi dragged on too much. It got canceled and the ending was rushed.

Haven't read Veritas, probably won't due to it not having a conclusion. [Actually, title sounded familiar so I looked it up, I did read some of this. Still, not going to get into it if it doesn't have a conclusion. I remember it being fun and having an interesting main character. The last page says there's a sequel in the works, but according to what I saw it probably won't actually happen due to Manwa sales apparently being shitty. As I understand it, the publishers are blaming piracy, but I honestly think it has more to do with Manga just crushing them in sales even in Korea and them not wanting to admit that.]

Breaker New Wave hasn't been that bad. It's kept a pretty consistent pace honestly. It's got a couple of arcs and a more complex plot than Kenichi, even though the basic formula is largely the same.

It's obvious Nine Dragons will reverse heel at the very end and turn against Kaiser. Probably ending up dead or wandering the world and not returning to Korea.

Shiwoon will end up saving Sosul during or prior to all this I think. She'll show up as a brainwashed villain first and he'll bring her back to normal. I'm guessing she'll be more mature and probably hot once her condition is cured.

Not sure if they'll pair him with Sosul or Saehee in the end. Probably Saehee with him remaining a prominent member of the Sunwoo clan and maybe even leading the Alliance in the end.

I'm kind of wondering which of the elders he'll be interacting with from now on. The two he had the biggest relationship with are gone now. The other two are really only seen in the background and don't have much development. One of them will have to take over as head elder though. Unless they promote Gyubum, even then I don't see them making him head over the other two elders.

Several pairings seem to have been established. Shiwoon is the only one up in the air, and it's pretty obvious he'll probably end up with Saehee if she survives, or Sosul assuming she matures and becomes hot once cured. Which given the fanservice in Breaker NW it's pretty likely that she will.

I know we've seen her as a badass loli prior to this, but I still think by the time she returns she'll be drawn with huge breasts and curves.

I'm guessing after the current arc, So-Chun will be the antagonist, with Goomoonryong hanging in the shadows till endgame. So-Chun will also end up joining Shiwoon in the end, ending up friendly rivals most likely. They've been setting up these two to end up going against each other for a while, and the current arc sort of sets that up.

My guess is Heroic death heel-face turn after Shiho comes back.

Magic Loli will end up being yandere surprise Dragon lieutenant before Shiion defeats her with his manliness. She will end up being that one that leads him back to Nine-arts and help them reconcile. I think she will be more mature but still less buxom that the others due to her past health issues.

In part three, it was said to be like a Phoenix rising, so I am thinking Shiion will fall in the depths of the underground (with Ghost Doctor) or live on the fringes of Murim like Nine-art's master did. Rather than stay will the clan, I think it will splinter and fracture because the stabilizing influences are gone and Susul will come back.

Veritas kinda borked itself with too much 'intrigue' and a lot of shifting allegiances, the only interesting one of which was the reveal about the guy they all ganged up on and beat up till he lost his powers. The main interest of that series was largely the lead himself and the mechanics behind his style, particularly since he bucked the usual trend of being a guy with a huge power battery. In that series instead he had the least amount of power of the vast majority of people in the school, on the order of 100,000 times IIRC. It's just that for him the amount of power he had didn't really matter, all he needed was a 'single drop' of the right purity.

Really it was kinda hilarious how at the end of that most of the allegiances didn't matter when the main antagonist girl just basically trumped them all in one go, then the lead woke up the dragon to supercharge himself enough to fight her and then the series just cut off for whatever reason there. Twas a weird end sadly that doesn't seem like it'll be continued.

Actually I think he WAS. He decided to keep Shioon away from both Kaiser and the Murim by breaking Shioon's ki center, then got brainwashed. He failed on both counts, but the entire point of his character is that he's an idiot who always misses one critical thing.

I'm with nairit, this is some sweet ass Wuxia here. Guessing Shioon's going to sign on with Ghost Doctor next.

It doesn't really seem like he was brainwashed to be honest.

He was a dick to begin with, then Shioon softened him up for a bit along with Shiho, then she died and he got depressed and took drugs to forget about her and Shioon, going back to his former self in the process.

I get the impression he wasn't being controlled, but rather worked for Kaiser all along against Murim.

He was taking a different drug from everyone else and I don't think he's being mind controlled. He hated Murim to begin with because of his master and was essentially a terrorist before he met Shioon.

The Breaker: New Waves 196

Now would be a good time to piss yourself, then start a course of praying to your impotent god.... oops, too late.
Not sure what to say about this. Seems like it's the beginning of the climax arc, but we've probably got another 200 chapters left to get to the end at least.

I'm curious what will happen to Sochun's dick brother. If he dies they'll probably blame it on Sunwoo somehow.

I mean all of the bullshit he did including the current situation where he was going to blow up the city. It's not a ploy. He was essentially a mindless slave doing whatever he was told because he is and always has been a giant fuckup. It's just that SHioon showed up and then he was like "Oh shit he's actually mastered BOT better calm down dude even though you're in this situation because I'm an idiot". So there is literally nothing that redeems him at all, yet somehow we're supposed to care that he wasn't willing to kill Shioon?

Well, maybe not, seeing how things turn out in...

The Breaker: New Waves 197

Sorry... got something in my eye looking at the last pages. Totally coincidental.

And, holy shit, are we going to end things here and start a new Breaker title? Because this feels pretty damn much like we're wrapping things up instead of closing out on an arc.

If not now then soon.

It was planned to be a three-part series.

We still have to see Shioon fall to squalor before the next act can properly start.

I'm just hopeful that the whole brother thing doesn't lead to mess up Moon's relationship with the Shioon and they lose their friendship over it. But I am completely prepared and expecting Misunderstandings(tm).

I don't know. Moon seems reasonable and Shioon talks more assertively. Plus, the dude dug his own grave. That's on him.

You forget... honor before common sense. Because it's not the first time Elder Brother pulled some shit on Shioon and the Sunwoo, and with this latest shake-up, it's bound to come up in conversation, and then... people get stupid.

New Chapter is out. Looks like they're bringing New Waves to a close from the feeling.
It seems like it. I'm betting there will be another series after this one. I wouldn't be surprised if this one ends with Sosul showing up to take the clan back. I also assume that he won't know there is anything wrong with Sosul at first, but that comes back later to bite him in the ass.

Then the next series picks up with Shiwoon on his own again and chasing down Nine Arts assuming Chun Woo survives. They might kill off Chun Woo with this series and have Shiwoon out for revenge against Kaiser and his organization as the next Nine Arts Dragon.

I doubt the whole mess with Kaiser will be resolved in this series. There are too many loose threads for one arc to clear them all up I think.

I wouldn't complain if I'm wrong and things get resolved well. I'm just hoping it doesn't end up with a rushed ending because of a cancellation the way some other manga have.

Title: Breaker chapter 199 cover.

Post:

Haha… this is the first post since 2015 began… somehow we’ve just been that busy…

Many of you could already tell, but,…. Breaker 2 is coming to an end.
Breaker part 2 will end with chapter 200. Also, there will be a final epilogue of 1 part.
Just part 1 [of Breaker] took 3 years… and part 2 took 5 years… I feel both relieved and disappointed.

Together with Archlord, we’ve been working non-stop without a break for 10 years.

Then… there are many readers who are wondering when Breaker, part 3, will enter serialization, but… we are expecting to not begin serialization for a little while. We will rest for a couple of months and then expect to start on a new work together with serializations that have piled up. The plan is to produce a work that, perhaps, forgoes the traditional page-view style and introduces the webtoon style with colour.
Our apologies to those waiting for part 3, but… 8 years… was quite a long time… we really want to produce something new and maybe we’ll produce a new novella with the author Jeon Keuk-jin.

Also, after taking care of this week’s chapter 199’s deadline, and depending on the number of pages, we will rest next week for one week and chapter 200 is expected to go up on May 1st.
