Are you sure it doesn't cause the TARGET's insides to rot?

How would I know? I'm just parroting what I'm hearing.

But that sounds a little too powerful, doesn't it?

And he wouldn't use it on Tsunade before even knowing she was in danger if it'd kill her faster, I guess

Katsuyu's long range healing thing: Katsuya splits up into pieces that absorb all of the caster's companions, than medical ninjutsu is activated. Katsuyu's chakra flows into them. Heals the body's fatigue and weariness, while simultaneously charging ones chakra. Large scale battles naturally cause a-lot of deaths, but the jutsu maintains the casualties at it's minimum. It was used in the fourth shinobi war.

Paper Ocean/Emissary: Konan can camouflage her paper as a variety of things, and the camouflage is so good that even Sharingan is deceived by it (hence Obito not noticing he was standing on a sea of explosive tags). It's also said that escape from the jutsu is impossible even with Obito's Space-Time ninjutsu.

Reverse Four Image Seal: Danzo's Urashishoufuin is basically exactly as it was presented in the manga. It's a seal that is activated after ones death and it's a blood seal. The only thing interesting the DB says is that it's an especially strong Shishoufuin, so I guess there are many different types of "shishoufuin" that exist and this is one of the strongest (Minato's seal he used to seal Kurama into Naruto is also a "shishoufuin").

Edit: Pg. 265: Talks about how the ability of Juugo's clan's body to take in natural energy caught Orochimaru's eye, which lead to the development of the Curse Seal. Talks about how the power of Juugo's clan originated from Ryuuchidou, and how that means the true shape/form/what have you of the Juin's power is Senjutsu.Than just talks about how Juugo's clan/people/village used Senjutsu, and how Sasuke and Juugo combined their powers on susano'o.

Page 270: The marking is essential in Hiraishin's instant movement. Basically talks about how Tobirama was a master who created many great Jutsu like Hiraishin and Edo Tensei. States those who came after him improved on his Jutsu. Minato improved Hiraishin to become know as the Yellow-Flash. Minato polished, refined, evolved the technique to surpass the original. Than it talks about how Kage-Bushin and Rasengan was passed down to Naruto, implying (well not really because we know) that he'll improve those. So basically it's about how each era invented new skills and passed them on to the next to be improved.

I'm gonna take that as win with Orochimaru come up with the curse seal from learning about the sage clan. And Altered Nova was right in that their senjutsu originated from the snakes.

does Shisui's page say anything about how old he was when he died?

I don't see a number so apparently not. Yet we're told on the next page how old Madara's dad was when he died. <_<

Edit: Perhaps not when he died. Danzo's Akimichi teammate is listed as 30 years old but he around during the Kyuubi attack as an old man. So he was 30 years old in Danzo's flashback? So maybe Madara's dad was that old at the time but died later on. Hmm.

Sakura: DB repeats that Sakura caught up to Naruto and Sasuke (in the moment that Sakura states such in the manga). It's something along the lines, Sakura is a special case her level was hidden. However while Naruto and Sasuke were always running ahead of her she finally caught up to them.

Pushing forward through rigorous training. Eventually she blossomed or insert other flower nonsense to stand for becoming great here. She polished/improved/refines her strong arm and medical ninjutsu.

Sakura had the same chakra control and talent as Tsunade, and before long it blossomed. (So I guess her chakra control is >= to Tsunade's now lol).
Sakura's talent allowed her to inherit Tsunade's Kinjutsu (Byakugo, i'm assuming).

Stuff about helping her teammates or watching their back being her strong point, saving Sasuke from his darkness, meh, I kind of got board and skipped through this section (lol).

Anyway, finally took a good look at these:

ankokudaishogun said:
Kushina got saved by Minato 27 years ago
So they were 14ish at the time.

Minato met A&B 21 years ago
Minato had been selected to be the next Hokage when he was around 20 then.

Hinata has been quietly cheering on Naruto since 6 years ago
When they were 10 or 11. I bet that's how old they were when they all ended up in the same class and Naruto and Sasuke had their first proper meeting. I think I already assumed that anyway but confirmation is always nice..

Kakashi became ANBU 18 years ago
And here I thought this would have been after Minato died. Shadow of the Anbu arc got that one right. But I'd rather know when he left Anbu.

Itachi did defeat Orochimaru 7 years ago
Man, so he really was about 13-14 then. How embarassing.

Nagato's talk with Jiraiya about wanting to protect Yahiko and Konan was 29 years ago
So the Ame trio were about 6-7 years old when they met Jiraiya. And he trained them until they were 9-10 and then they created Akatsuki over the next 5-6 years.

I always assumed they were 12 years old when he left.

Wait a minute, this contradicts the manga. At the end of Part 1 some Akatsuki member also said that Orochimaru left the organization (because Itachi defeated him) 7 years ago. Except that was before the timeskip, so it would have put Itachi at only 11 years old at the time!

I wonder if this is a retcon to avoid the weird timeline issue that page caused, namely that Itachi had apparently joined Akatsuki almost as soon as he became an ANBU and 2-3 years before he committed the Uchiha Massacre and actually became a missing-nin. Because if he didn't defeat Orochimaru until he was 14 then it's plausible that it happened after the Massacre.

I'll take it!

Hiruzen earned the title of professor for being a researcher. He was trained by both Hashirama and Tobirama, as the man that would succeed them. At a young age he showed greater talent than Tobirama. All five nature alterations, Hidden (I think it means Clan based techniques), Genjutsu, all ninjutsu existing in Konoha which explains his reputation as the professor. Hence the essence of Hiruzen is his talent with ninjutsu. Everyone in the village is his family member.

He probably does through research. However, he probably can't perform most of them due to some restrictions that only select people, more specifically the restrictions only members of a certain clan can fulfill. So in essence, he knows the textbook definition of every clan technique in Konoha, but can't practice them. For example, he probably knows the principles and all the motions of the gentle fist, but without the Byakugan to let him see the chakra pressure points, he won't be able to use it effectively in combat.

Hiruzen became Hokage 31 years ago
That would make Hiruzen about 41 at the time. ;)

And this is while Uchiha Kagami and Akimichi Torifu of Danzo's team were apparently 25 and 30. Maybe it meant 41 years ago? Because I could more easily believe that Hiruzen, Danzo and their teams were in the 25-30 age range.

#64
On the Hiden issue :
I think Hiruzen did extensively studied them so much he did reverse engineer them and COULD replicate them if he'd ever bothered to apply the resulting knowledge in that direction.
Instead, I suppose he did "simply" developed countermeasures.
I think in a previous databook/fanbook it was stated he had counters for every kekkei genkai and hiden of Konoha?

Edit :
on Orochimaru leaving Akatsuki "7 years ago" : can anybody check it on the volumes? It's normal for the volumes having corrected dialogues(I. E. : Kisame calls Tobito "Mizukage" in the Shōnen Jump scans, but it's then corrected in "Former Mizukage" in the volumes).

In fact, now Naruto is completed, I'm hoping somebody will retranslate it from scratch using volumes scans... If they are available.

Don't have that volume and couldn't find a scan.

Updated OP with Hinata's profile, courtesy of her fan club.

Edit: Okay, I checked and it still says seven years.

Edit 2: Translator: Reading some of Minato's profile. Lol it talkes about him being like purple lighting flash sword. He took Nindaime's Space-time Ninjutsu Hiraishin to a state of perfection (basically what the other entry said that he improved on Hiraishin). He learned Jiriaya confidence (I think this means will of fire basically). Approximately 27 years ago he prevent Kirigakure's attempt to abduct a Jinchuuriki, which was the start of the third shinobi war. Says he is the fastest shinobi, whose pride is his great battle prowess.

Itachi profiles talks about how he helped the village and took on the stigma of slaughtering his people to do so, and all that junk. Talks about being brought back by Edo tensei and entrusting people with basically his WOF. Says had some impact on the outcome of the war. He squared off against Orochimaru's power in Kabuto. There is really nothing new on the first and second pages, and no strength hype whatsoever. Granted I skimmed through it and I didn't read the Sasuke/Itachi forehead page, so maybe there is still hope for you Itachi-fans, but I don't see nothing.

I'd think someone fucked up by saying Kiri for Minato's since the translator double-checked that one. Then again, that's quite a fuck up and wouldn't they just say Kushina? :hmm:

I'm curious.

Is there anything said about C, the guy who was bodyguarding the Raikage along with Darui?

I'm guessing that he must have some kind of importance if A is for Raikages and B is for jinchuurikis (or senior jinchuurikis, considering Yugito).

He's got a half-page profile but none of the translators have given him even a passing mention so far.

B isn't for jinchuuriki, it's for the Raikage's chosen tag-team partner and bodyguard. And traditionally "B" is "A"'s actual brother, but because A is an only child the Third Raikage held a competition to find a "B" for his son. To become B the contestants had to be able to learn how to match the Raikage's power and successfully perform a Double Lariat in synch with him. Killer B was the only child who succeeded, and he wasn't actually a jinchuuriki yet when he was chosen for the position and given the name.

My guess is that C is the Raikage's dedicated medic-nin. Maybe he's given top secret knowledge about the Raiton Armor so he can treat any injuries or complications that arise from misuse or overuse of that signature Raikage jutsu.

Updated OP with Tobirama's Mutually Multplying Explosive Tags and Flying Thunder God Slash.

More paraphrased translations:

Izanami/Byakogou Sousou Saisei/Clam Genjutsu - See jutsu section.

Mu's Invisibility Jutsu - Using Water Vapor to bend light into a prism, any solid matter's and shape is changed and creates a phantom image (?....this line is extremely confusing, so I may have this wrong). The jutsu strong point is it's control over water....something I don't really follow again really confusing. "Mujin Aisai". By manipulating water particles ones presence is erased. Using water to bend light, resulting in nothing being shown. Its an optic camoflage, similar to "Karakuri". [Edit: Karakuri means "mechanism" like with the mechanical puppets or "trick."]

Secret file on Senjutsu - Senjutsu's secret teachings to gather natural energy. Gama oil pulls energy towards oneself, which is good for teaching one energy control. Then talks about stoping the body's motion, stuff we already know. Talks about turning into a statues. Says Jiriaya had a little bit more frog features than Naruto.

Basically Mu copied Gengetsu's technique and applied it to only hide himself.

Can it really be considered a genjutsu if the clam is actually using water vapor from steam jets to reflect light and create literal mirages? A genjutsu puts chakra in the opponent's brain to make them experience a hallucination, but a mirage created by water vapor is a real optical phenomenon that can be photographed.

Unless the clam uses genjutsu to enhance the mirages created by the water vapor. That would actually be pretty effective because then you couldn't just dispel it and even people who can see through genjutsu would still be confused.

Is Mu's invisibility a water jutsu then? Ironically, that's the only element other than Yin that isn't on his chart. The Hiding with Camouflage Jutsu apparently didn't control water vapour to make you invisible and more; was Mu's jutsu its predecessor or something? Sounds like it should be a part of the Mizukage's 'genjutsu'.
