Well, there apparently must have been several galge games with time travel scenarios for Keima to almost smoothly pull it off.
Considering that he's played at the very least 5028 games, this is actually possible.

Also, with the most recent revelation about Miss Nikaido, I cannot help but think of her acting like Yuzuki Kiryu from KissxSis when she's alone, sniffing his confiscated PFP and fantasizing about... "stuff."

We need a fic based on this. Also one when She acts like the affectionate younger sister she is in front of the class. After his return, naturally.

It really seems weird to think about Dokuro.

I mean, she goes from some sort of savant fighting genius demon who loses her body after fighting a war to being the commander of the Weiss hunting squad with a side of magnificent bastard planning to being reborn as a teenage girl with an onii-chan fetish to a grown human woman who seems to be a fairly strict teacher.

I dunno... I picture Nikaido keeping up the KuuDere personality, staying the badass sexy teacher in public, while reverting to her Dere persona from the past in private. Only to frustrate the girls with goddesses just because she can. :snigger:

We need Nikaido vs Elsie trying to prove they're the better little sister.

Yeah, that was a dull chapter.

But holy crap that Volume 24 cover, child Tenri is so :3

Chapter 263: Holy hell, Keima just called the girls his friends! He acknowledged real people as friends! That is a damn good way to show of his character development. He even points out the girls good points, and why he likes them!

It really makes me want to know what else he wrote to Tenri. And speaking of the letter, Tenri seems to think that the "love" was on both sides. I don't know what to think of it. Anyone else in here think that Keima really loved the girls he courted? And that he went to games as some odd Escape-ism thing?

That's quite likely, unfortunately for Haqua whom he hasn't courted. As for the letter, why did Tenri keep trying to show it to everyone before this point, when it doesn't really seem useful outside this particular scenario?

Despite being a professional liar, Keima invests a lot of emotion on his conquests, possibly to make sure that his conquest will be successful. This is also probably the reason why he's kind of sad that some of the girls who he conquered have forgotten him, and especially heart breaking when he had to force himself to reject the feelings of that one girl who did had genuine feelings for him, despite not remembering she was a conquest target (poor Chihiro T_T) in order to keep her away from danger.

This may also be the reason why he went all out in ensuring that the girls that did remember him be safe, because I think he finds a trait in them that he finds appealing (some of which he listed in his letters), the problem in taking the "harem route" is that its just not possible in real life, and Keima knows this.

It's amazing how you'd never expect any f this from the Katsuragi Keima from the beginning of the series. Hell, you'd never expect this type of emotional depth from the series in the beginning.

Actually, the harem route is possible -- in fact, it's sort of what he's been doing all this time with the goddesses; it's just that it's not a feasible one, given the number of girls and strength of personalities involved. The delicacy of figuring out and maintaining the proper balance is so exacting, even a simple two-girl situation would risk self-destructing before discovering the secret, and that's presuming one is fine being the lesser of the two. Six girls demanding equality is exponentially more precise and demanding, turning into clusterfucks just by bringing in a new face. Keima, however, has, effectively, 12 girls to balance, as the one saving grace (the goddesses) also works against him in certain manners. So, it's a mess at least.

Your post seems kinda contradictory.

I'm not sure how I feel about that...

Was dashing it off while getting ready for work at the time, so I didn't have time to review it, or add more things to better clarify my point. Suffice to say, though, a harem ending with this many girls is actually doable for Keima, but only because of the main thing tying them together is the Goddesses, which makes essential things like friendship and bonding possible. This can be a double-edged sword, though, and their reliability can also cause any harem end to go flying right out the window if not curtailed or harnessed properly. Even then, it's calling for a lot of factors to happen while Keima is away and relies on things that he cannot directly influence. However, seeing that Keima essentially made his present, we can assume that this is his optimal chances of garnering a harem ending, if this was something he unconsciously sought out.

Well we know it's possible because of that alternate universe where Keima got everything right. Whether he'll actually try for it though, I don't really think so.

Well we'll see how it'll play out soon, since apparently we're nearing the end of this work.

Apparently, The World God Only Knows will end in the next volume.
I'm actually relieved to hear that this won't become another One Piece or Naruto manga.

About a harem ending ... remember Keima's views on them? A harem is only possible if the protagonist searches for the happiness of all the girls. It could be that their "happiness" might mean forgetting him - a twisted sort of harem.

And the latest chapter is out;

http://www.batoto.net/read/_/234425/the-world-god-only-knows_ch265_by_red-hawk-scans

Anyone else expecting a kiss to be the solution to the problem at the end? ;)

-chronodekar

This is gonna be some sort of "Broken Spirit" thing, isn't it? The reason he can't wake up, is because he doesn't want to. But Apollo and Mars are Badasses, and Apollo has an awesome Shit eating grin

And giant girl statue? Keima's final conquest.

What IF, due to time travel shenanigans she becomes his first conquest?
