Chapter 263: Holy hell, Keima just called the girls his friends! He acknowledged real people as friends! That is a damn good way to show of his character development. He even points out the girls good points, and why he likes them!
It really makes me want to know what else he wrote to Tenri. And speaking of the letter, Tenri seems to think that the "love" was on both sides. I don't know what to think of it. Anyone else in here think that Keima really loved the girls he courted? And that he went to games as some odd Escape-ism thing?

Despite being a professional liar, Keima invests a lot of emotion on his conquests, possibly to make sure that his conquest will be successful. This is also probably the reason why he's kind of sad that some of the girls who he conquered have forgotten him, and especially heart breaking when he had to force himself to reject the feelings of that one girl who did had genuine feelings for him, despite not remembering she was a conquest target (poor Chihiro T_T) in order to keep her away from danger.
This may also be the reason why he went all out in ensuring that the girls that did remember him be safe, because I think he finds a trait in them that he finds appealing (some of which he listed in his letters), the problem in taking the "harem route" is that its just not possible in real life, and Keima knows this.
