Tower of God

Yeah, Rachel has nothing worthwhile to offer in and of herself. Even her Irregular (as in 'not a resident of the Tower') status is worthless, as being unaffected by Zahard's immortality doesn't mean anything when you're an ordinary human with absolutely no method of harming him. He's still a 2 and a half meter tall superhuman who makes monsters like Yuri look like particularly weak babies after all.

I suppose you could say her worth is that she's a necessity for the plan of killing Zahard as without her there is no Baam, but even that kind of lost weight when Baam started putting similar value on so many other people.

do we know anything about Baam's past? as in from his time before the tower?

... other than he was rachel's friend. (dubious as that may be)

He was apparently ostracised for some reason, given that he grew underground in a hole. Anything more and I'd have to look through the archive some more.

He wasn't just ostracized, he was sealed away in an underground prison with nothing around but a small light coming from a tiny hole in the ceiling. And based on how he spoke about Rachel, and how she said he could never follow her out of the hole in the roof despite his curiosity, it seems almost like he doesn't have any memories prior to being in the cave. On a side note, there's an image in the cave that looks like the Zahard crest.

As to how he could survive seemingly without food or water for who knows how long, or his origins, there are only theories. Some think he was a creation of Enryu, the #2 Ranker and an Irregular said to be one of the two people capable of giving life to beings (the other being Mecseth), while with the preview of the second part of the series, a bunch of people came to believe he was Zahard's only son (either biologically, or the only male given Zahard's power), but that title seems to be pointing more towards Wangnan.

If this is that yellow haired person ... its lackluster. :(

And the whole "giving life to beings" - does that mean women don't give birth to children in this mahwa? Cause that seems disturbing ....

Or am I mis-interpreting things?

Women give birth, but Enryu is said to be able to give life through shinsoo alone (think of it along the lines of a DND wizard using Phantom Steed to make a horse), though it is possible this is just an overblown rumor, since Enryu himself hasn't appeared directly in the story yet and displayed said ability or how it works (ie. it could just be a reference to how shinsoo appears alive around him). And in the case of Mecseth, it's more along the lines of mad science life (though he might be doing it through shinsoo as well). Mecseth is the creator of the factory (the people who make most of the weapons and lighthouses in the factory), and came into the tower with Zahard and the ten heads as essentially their blacksmith. A notable creation of Mecseth would be Flux, one of the three emperors who rule in Zahard's stead (since he's lazy).

And as for Wagnan, it isn't entirely clear if he's the Prince of Zahard that the previews were mentioning, but some things seem to be pointing to that. What exactly "Prince of Zahard" even means though isn't clear either (biological son? male empowered by Zahard like the princesses? child of one of the princesses, like Anak?).

If its Koon, I'm pretty sure he'll be able to figure out to a good extent, whats going on.

Man, that was surprising!

So while Hwa Ryun was complicit in getting Rachel to betray Baam and then bringing him in to the organisation, she doesn't seem to be on the same side of FUG as Karaka, or whoever it was that lead to Baam getting a new team.

You know she's fallen for the 25th night.
The way this story has been going, I won't be surprised if she stabs him in back after confessing her "undying love" or something.

Or, the comical route, is that she just burns him. Accidentally. :D

Holy shit what a terrible translation. How do you fuck up Baam's name for the direct translation and gender pronouns?

Just read the latest release. Man oh man, I don't know what to think of Koon's situation. But that guy's got a really good head on his shoulders.

Nice to see Gator back in the story. Am looking forward to when he meets up with his two little friends. :)

Any idea if the workshop battle is next?

I'm pretty sure I remember SIU talking about the workshop battle coming pretty soon, so I wouldn't be surprised if we jumped in to the introduction of the arc in the next chapter or two.

I will be happy as long as the chapters involve Androssi and/or Koon.
