But then what's that thing about the 25th and how would Koon even know about it if he was the one who posted it?

25th is part of his name. Baam's full name is 25th Baam.

Koon was just bored and typed it into Emile to see what he would get.

Pretty much, yeah.

Glad to finally see some activity returning to this thread, it took me three weeks but Idunnit ;)

Chapter 40

Team Viole is on the 28th floor, tricks the enemy team in a test into all coming back together and trapping them in a force field.

Wagnan tries to sneak past the enemy Wave Controller to open a chest only to get his key stolen by the enemy Fisherman

Wagnan plays on the delusions of the Wave Controller in a hilarious scene

Viole shows up and plays the badass again

Also I have to give mad props to the webcomic author for doing a chapter like this every week

No doubt. I mean, you look at NA webcomics and you get stuff like Outsider, which, while good, updates at a glacial pace.

He should really just release a tankobon of the first season already, I'd buy an English translation :)

Isn't that that "blue space elves" one?

I thought that had been abandoned more than half a decade ago...

Nope. Still updates, but on an incredibly irregular basis. He was keeping it to a page per month, until around July when he got bogged down with work. It's just far easier to support yourself with comics in Asia than it is to do the same here (though even taking that into account, he updates at a glacial pace compared to others).

I know Finders' Keepers got axed because the creator couldn't support himself well enough with the series.

Chapter 41

Some banter as the Fisherman guy from the opposing team gives Wangnan the key upon seeing all the rest of his team was wiped out

The 'legendary food' the team wins for the test as a prize is candy

Akraptor talks to Wangnan about slowing down on climbing the tower, Wangnan wants to do the 29th floor still to take part in the Factory Round

Team Viole discover a picture of somebody who looks a lot like Horyang who Horyang identifies by name, and is supposedly the real Devil of the Right Arm. Koon's also tracking information down on this guy (since it was said earlier that he defeated Hatsu, the monk-warrior guy from Part 1) and it's stated the guy's on the 28th floor.

So, Baam-Koon reunion in the works maybe :)

And then Chapter 41 on Batoto since everywhere else breaks it up into like 30 pages :(

Yeah, that was what I found interesting. So either somebody saw him wrongly or he somehow managed to h4x his way into being able to use his abilities with his right arm as well.

The climax is pretty interesting as well. And the author notes state that ignition weapons are created with 'special Shinsoo' and Baam has h4x Shinsoo control so he's already assured to steamroll the Factory competition.

I might have read it wrong, but I assumed Horyang was the original person using the Devil of the Right Arm moniker, and after he chose to stop climbing the tower, he went off radar and stopped using it, at which point Casano took up the name, despite having his powers in his left arm (possibly as a way to draw out Horyang?). At least that's what I was getting from his story. :huh.:

That seems like it, but it still seems a bit awkward that Casano gets attributed the Devil of the Right Arm moniker, even given how rumour tends to twist in being spread around.

But what I meant to mention earlier and forgot was that in that one page later where Horyang mentions the 'God of the Tower", that silhouette looks distinctly like Headon.

Chapter 43

Horyang briefly attacks Viole a few times

Viole talks about when he first woke up after being nabbed by Fug. The 'God' part of the Tower of God gets namedropped for what I think is the first time.

and suddenly, red light vagina

which apparently gave Baam even more h4x powers

Horyang leaves to pursue Casano

At the end Ageris's team emerges out of a transport vehicle to a tower shaped like a left arm and hand where Casano is sitting on one of the fingers.

You know, after thinking about it again, that red light is suspicious since Baam said it gave him even more shinsoo manipulation powers basically.

and Enryuu is known for his shinsoo being red

so I wonder if whatever Lovecraftian entity that emitted that red light is related to Enryuu somehow

It was stated that he could create life from shinsoo, so it is a possibility. Although it's also possible that the creature was just another of the many creations of the Workshop. Considering one of the three current rulers of the tower (Zahard just sits on his ass and shoves the work off to others) is an artificial being created by the Workshop, making powerful beings isn't outside their abilities.

Am I the only one that's most interested by the part of the JinSung conversation that we didn't see before? That he was only giving Viole a 'part' of the power.

Which means Viole has Gotta Catch 'Em All?.

On Enryu, it's completely possible it's the other way around. That Enryu absorbed and mastered part of this thing and that's what allowed him to pull the red Shinsoo hax. Way more likely that Enryu is just hax and this is one of his mad scientist creations or one of the workshop's, but still.

I'd have to look up the Season 1 stuff again, but I *think* Baam's dark-blue shinsoo only has that colour as of Season 2 once he enters the scene as Viole (though it may also be he never used any attacks in Season 1 that displayed visible shinsoo). So it's entirely possible whatever this thing is it changes Baam's shinsoo colour as well.

Actually, what I would definitely love is if this thing is some sort of remains of the 43rd Floor Guardian that Enryu killed, ala a Nobody or a Heartless of the Guardian.

On a side note, I'm curious. Does anybody know how long it's supposed to take to physically descend and ascend each floor if you've already passed the test for the floor? You have people like Yuri who climbed up from the 2nd floor to the 134th in 5 years (time skip) but I have no idea if it literally takes a full five years of walking, or if they just have some sort of handy teleportation spell or something and she just decided to show up back there after 5 years.

It would be neater if the place that FUG is located on IS the 43rd floor.

Once you become a Ranker, you can use the staircase in the middle area to traverse floors (presumably this is that staircase Yuri and Evan were running down at the start of the story), but how long this takes seems to differ massively.

Quant and Leroro took most of 6 years to reach the 77th floor, yet Yuri managed to reach the 1st floor in seemingly minutes given she was traveling there specifically because of Baam's entrance. We could take this to mean Guides are super hax, but like you said, it looked like Yuri had only just gotten to the 134th floor at the part 2 prologue. The only logical conclusion I could then draw is that Yuri was really low down anyway, which makes no sense to me. It can't be that she knew Baam was going to enter like Headon did and was heading there since ages ago, because of the way she was talking about it to Evan. That or like you said, she just decided to show up on the 134th after doing shit all for 5 years, which would fit with what SUI said about the perception of time for Rankers, at which point were back to Guides being awesome.

EDIT: Actually, I just realized Quant and Leroro could have just gone really slow and made lots of stops themselves. I guess we just don't know enough to make any judgements.

I can't quite remember the exact conversations, but since Leroro said Walhaiksong's headquarters were a hellish place, they might have decided to try and track down a member on the lower rungs of the organization instead of jumping straight to their HQ and asking Urek Mazino himself for membership. I think I remember him not seeming particularly surprised that the guy they found was a member. If so, then it would make sense that they spent the last five years tracking down leads on the lower floors. Unless I'm misremembering things, which is possible since I've been busy with a lot of things recently. :huh.:

As for FUG hiding on the 43rd Floor, I'm pretty sure it was said that people couldn't be tracked on the floor as well since their was no Guardian, so it's possible that some members reside their, but it was also stated that FUG has no centralized heaadquarters. Most members consist of small cells that work towards various goals.

I'm still holding to my theory about that thing in the underground being some vestige of the former Guardian of the 43rd.

Chapter 44

Art style went to shit all of a sudden, I guess the author wanted to get a chapter out still but Christmas

Horyang shows up at the hand statue which is given the nickname of Arlene's Hand. Seems there's a tent village that sprung up around the hand. Horyang finds out Casano is hiding out there but is warned about traps and monsters.

Ageris's team gets some spotlight time, Ran disables traps but also disables a part of Ageris's Lighthouse set-up by accident lulz

Horyang disables some stone sentries

Ran spots Horyang at the end and thinks he's Casano

Does anyone have any ideas on Koon in the latest (vol2 ) release? I'm hoping that he'll live, but its a real pity that the other guy died.

Also - is Rachel really a member of FUG? I have a feeling that she just works with them for her own ends.

I doubt Rachel is an actual memeber of FUG. It seems more like she's a tool they're using, somewhat along the lines of a carrot on a stick for Baam to chase after. Because despite Baam dearly wanting to save his friends, Rachel was still what drove him to enter the Tower in the first place and by sending her further and further up the Tower, they can ensure that Baam still has a reason of his own to reach the top.

At least that's how I see it.
