So they improved Optimus? Well thats good atlest. Just hope when I see it on the 24 I don't end up sitting next to some Fanboy. Last time the guy next to me squealed like a stuck pig when they first showed Optimus. The fact that he was wearing blue facepaint and a red shirt sould of tipped me off in hindsight. People in Ithaca New York are strange.

*rant over you can look now.*

If you haven't seen the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, do so ASAP.

This is five times better than the first, and doesn't horse around making pathetic introductions. They did that in the first film and this one jumps straight into the meat of the action and drama. The audience clapped during scenes in the movie and no one left the cinema unsatisfied or wanting more. The film had everything that could be expected of it and still more to further the impact of it.

Watch it.

Love it.

Fall in love with the Transformers all over again. Optimus Prime above all.

Yes, Prime is several times more bad ass in this film than in the last one. Sure he pwned that Bonecrusher guy in the last movie, but Megatron basically pwned him in the end.

This time around he's kicking major ass.

Hell, even Bumblebee became more of a bad ass!

Can't say much for the other Autobots though.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!! Saw it last night, still feeling the high, that one damn pencil pusher should of had one of Ironhides canons shoved up his ass.

The final fight between the fallen and prime was to short in my opinion but thats just me.

Megan Fox cant act much but is hot enough to make up for it.

And that one Decepicon chick's tongue was desterbing. My spelling suck but I'm in a hurry.

But damn if I didn't love it.

I enjoyed it, but apparently the movie critics are saying that it's the worst movie of the year. I don't know what they're smoking and I don't even want any.

I was wrong in my estimation of human casualties. I said about 6000. It's more like 14,000. I can honestly say I laughed more at the 'orange smoke' bit than anything else in the movie. That black soldier is the best character in the movie IMO.

Which critics?
According to my friends the old fogeys like Siskel & Ebert, guys who didn't grow up with the Transformers, or have not had significant exposure to cartoon culture. :huh.: The type of people who don't understand that violence, fighting, & physical conflict have a drama of their own in films.

The fight between Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Blackout was undeniably epic, with the final fights exceeding them in an unimaginable fashion. Yes, the end fights were short but I'm glad they didn't fall to cliche by having extended end-of-the-movie high-climax fights. They did make up for it through intensity & mechanical brutality. Even the opening fight between the hiding Decepticons, the Autobots, and NEST were amazingly brutal, pulling no punches and stone-cold serious when dealing with the enemy.

Did they correct the primary mistake they had in the first movie?

Specifically, the fact that the first movie wasn't about Transformers, it was about a loser named Sam Witwicki and just happened to have Transformers in it.

If you watch the movie and take the story the right way, yes, they did fix it. The story follows Sam around, but focuses more on the Transformers than him. But if that doesn't convince you, the fight scenes and general badassery will make up for it big-time.

I will be the dissenting voice here.

That Decepticon toy car? Lame.

The twins? Lamer.

The Fallen going down like a punk? Very lame.

The Primes deciding to suicide to hide the Matrix of Leadership, instead of killing the Fallen when they had the opportunity? Lamest of all.

The movie has quite a few cool moments (the reactivation of Megatron, the giant Decepticon rampaging through Shangai, the satellite Decepticon, Optimus' desperate solo fight against Starscream, Megatron and Helicopter Decepticon #2), but there are plot holes the size of Devastator in there.

All in all, I liked the first one considerably better than this one. Not to say that this one is a terrible movie, because it is decent enough as pure mindless entertainment and even enjoyable enough if you don't mind the lame jokes.

But the first one showed far more solid storytelling.

Gonna have to agree with Estrecca here. While not a terrible movie, I'm not going to say it was movie of the year. *Possible Spoilers ahead*

There were amazing scenes, such as Optimus being a fucking mack and taking on Megatron, Starscream, and Blackout by himself, the intro fight, and the Devastator scenes.

All in all, you'll note the best parts of the movie IMO were the ones focused on autobots/decepticons or heavy combat. The humor just felt forced and raw, apart from John Turturro, but he translates into most roles pretty seamlessly. I really don't care much for the humans. Didn't in the first movie, and I still don't. What nearly happened to Optimus is eerily reminiscent of the 1980's first animated Transformers movie. I hated that movie, as well as Rodimus, so I'm glad things didn't turn out the same.

So in conclusion, while an excellent movie, with great action and effects, it still didn't rock me like the first one did, despite the first movie having "Intro Syndrome", which is what I like to call the time it takes to introduce all the characters/setting in a movie franchise, e.g. Spider-man 1.

Ill agree that the humor was kind of........ okay alot of it sucked but come on! There are worse jokes in better movies. Also for the whole Primes thing, eh the way I took it the Fallen was good enough to take all of them with one arm behind his back. It's a strech I realize but..... oh forget it even I cant come up with a "good" answer for that one and Im the king of bull shiters. Literly got the award from high school to prove it.

I've just left the movie theater so my impressions are as hot as possible. And my impression of this...this movie are not too good.

I confess the first 20 min. were really great, but then was this human boy....again.....again.....and again.

The Decepticons could not decide if they want too kill him or capture him and change there wants more then a pregnant woman.

The fights were not half bad, but most of the time i couldend identificate who was fighting who and the camera was so near the action i saw mostly the limbs of the bots.
All Bots had faulty Targetsystems too and could not hit a 20m bot right in front of them

After one hour, I looked every 10-20min on my watch, till this wreck of a film was finally over.

I didn't expect much of this film, but when i wanted to see shooting humans and many Explosion's I would have looked an Rambo film.

Excuse my bad English

Here some reviews better then mine Transformers Reviews

Goddam, there is no pleasing you people. Did the action & fight scenes count for nothing?!

Do you guys even know what goes into making a film script from a cartoon series? Much less making a movie with this level of CG- human interaction? The seams were damn near flawless and I only noticed one slip up when watching.

Yes, they had a somewhat standard comedic opening with historic prologue, but moved onto the meat of the plot without having a full flashback sequence to dull the procession of the film.

If the movie centered on just the Autobots and Decepticons, it would just be an hour long battle scene and very little story or expansion on the characters. The human component is a part of the Transformers series, and otherwise the entire movie might as well be CG or animated just for the Transformers. It's LIVE ACTION. Deal with it. :sweat2:

Optimus & Bumblebee took Levels in BadAss, not forgetting giving credit to the humans for having the ability to kill Decepticons and be killed in turn. Every character, no matter how lame (Toy Car, the twins, annoying bureaucrat dude who tried to control NEST), served a purpose in the film. They also served to make the primary characters look better and more impressive in contrast.

The story/plot is kinda flimsy. So what. How the hell else would they attract audiences other than hard-core fans if they didn't include a human protagonist? Get over yourselves, and go make your own damn version of it.

So they should have made the first movie center around the Air Force guys and the NSA, not an idiot teenager whose involvement in the story is due to a sheer fluke and who makes only one intentional positive contribution to the plot in the entire movie.

It's Hollywood. Do you really expect them to put "the smart move..." ?

It's not a perfect movie. They made mistakes, but by God it's a decent film. It may not be a good representation of the series, and I knew that walking in the theater; thus, I could view the movie objectively and enjoy it. You expected them to cater to the masses of nerds? Foolish assumption, young novice. It's what they thought the masses would want. Just be glad they didn't futz up the characterization and back story behind the series.

The jokes were not meant to be funny, I think, they were meant to give the two robots more of a personality then just two cars that happen to be robots, it was meant tomake them stand out.

Despite that I laughed anyway at the sight of two small transformers cracking bad ghetto jokes.

Edit: I'm goin to stop reading these movie review threads, the sticks in the mud are killing my buzz.

Have to agree on the twins' jokes. I think they needed some mindless, harmless morons in the background to provide dialogue to fill in the spaces of Bumblebee's usual silence (there are only so many sound clips he can use to speak).

One of the friends I went with was black and confirmed that what they tried to do was have the personality of "two geeks trying to be gangsta'." Talking, acting, and posturing like them throughout the film, and I saw that they did it.

{Spoiler}
It made for some chuckles during the multiple-transformer fight. "You shot me in the face!" & "No one eats me! I'mma gonna bust your face in!"
{end}

Agreed. Could you at least wait until the weekend is over? Some of us haven't seen it yet.
