Ch 84 - Touch Me A Lot
Once again, the name on the tin describes the contents of this chapter. While we have not hit the predicted roadblock (yet), this is certainly NSFW. And Nagi and Karin keep merrily careening along the highway... Wonder who will try and stop them?
This chapter was epic win. Completely NSFW, but who cares about that. I wouldn't be surprised if they get cockblocked, but I'd be upset. Karin passing that milestone would start up a great deal of plot development on the romance side.
This series got boring. It abdicated the most interesting part, which was getting creeped out by the xenophobic islander cult that has a strong history of human sacrifice. Now all that old lady does is ask Nagi why he hasn't boinked 'em yet; all that's happening is a parent-approved harem romance. I was way more interested when there was a danger he was gonna get lynched for ignorantly talking to a Maiden out of turn.
If it isn't your poison, that's fine, but I like this little love story. It's a harem manga where all the girls actually have a shot. Shizuku's got an edge, but it's not clearly foreordained like it was in Ai Yori Aoshi.
Umi no Misaki never gave off the vibe of potential human sacrifice. The premise could make such a thing possible in another story, but the tone of this story never had that as possibility.
I started reading this a bit last week, gotten through chapter 54. What bothers me most about this story is that there is no real supernatural element. The Dragon God is mere tradition and not really any mystical ability. Yet in spite of this the Cape Maidens just take the old woman's word for Nagi being the Dragon God.

That's the particular example that sticks in my mind. I'm not saying the cult does it now, but it's the history.

Actually, I really like there's no mythical powers. It's just this island's cult; they have no special reason to believe he's a incarnate diety except of where and when he happened to be born.
I'm kinda pooping on this manga, but this part--religion without any shounentastic magical powers--I actually really liked. So I guess I'm of the opposite opinion compared to you.

After almost... two months!?!?! ...a new chapter. :yay:

Ch 85 - Satisfaction and Anxiety
I can tell you there is a lot of one, and little of another. And not in a good way. This chapter is NSFW, natch.
Includes a very nice color page and a glimpse of the cover for the upcoming Volume 10 tankobon (first page of chapter).
And the next one up on the hit parade... Soyogi! *boxing bell rings*
I started reading this a bit last week, gotten through chapter 54.? What bothers me most about this story is that there is no real supernatural element.? The Dragon God is mere tradition and not really any mystical ability.? Yet in spite of this the Cape Maidens just take the old woman's word for Nagi being the Dragon God.
In real life, that's the case as well. No religious leader ever had any alledged powers or abilities subjected to the rigors of modern science and technology.

Ch 86 - Essential Point
Soyogi prepares for her date with Nagi by studying Karin's women's magazines. It goes about as well as you would expect, except for the end. ^_^

Ch 87 - Complex
Soyogi talks about the other Maiden that she is jealous of, and it's not who you think. Then she shows and teaches the Dragon God her martial arts routine, and when he goes to take a shower, she joins him... or does she?
