On one hand... I wouldn't mind more naval combat movies.

On the other... This looks like the absolute stupidest damn thing ever.

This will apparently be Rhianna's screen debut. Um... Good for her?

As for Liam Neeson... Dude, if you lost a bet you can tell us. We might be willing to cover it as long as you don't do any more movies like this.

Guhhhh...
I spotted this while I was waiting for Cowboys and Aliens to begin.

The other moviegoers were less than pleased when I began laughing. To be fair, I was quite loud.

A comment on the Youtube page quoted for truth.

Bets on whether the movie will end this way:

LIAM rips the air hose from RIGGS's suit and shoves him back into the airlock, telling him that he's the son he never had, and he'd be proud to have? him marry Breasts. LIAM tells RIGGS that his job is "taking care of my little girl". After the Freedom moves to a safe distance, LIAM detonates the bomb at the last minute (and after some difficulty), and his life passes before his eyes as the bomb rips through the ALIEN BOAT.

How to save this movie.

Remove all romance, place it back in WW2 during the Battle of Coral Sea or some
large naval battle. Then duke it out between the aliens and 2 opposing fleets. Without the
humans deciding to work together for God's sake. Hell have both Jap and Ameri forces
get wiped out and there's your sequel.

Funniest thing on that trailer was the R2D2 CWIS system hitting the alien projectiles. I served
on a frigate with one of those. It was broken half the time. Best we could hope for
was 3 seconds of fire before it broke again. Impressive when it did work though.

Am I the only one that thinks the trailer for the Fright Night Remake looks like shit?

Ah, a highly advanced CIWS with no moving parts, then? (I'm sure that joke's been told of more than one annoyingly non-functional piece of equipment.)

Well saw the remake, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. After reading fangoria and checking out the movie I understood more of where the movie was coming from.

Strange, I just recently found myself thinking, "if only there was another boring, by the numbers, lame, uninspired piece of shit movie on the horizon." And lo and behold, Final Destination 5! A movie franchise that should have ended halfway through the first shitty film.
Final Destination and Saw seem to be this generation's horror franchise.
Ya know, at least Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th and Halloween started strong and well done and then went downhill into shit. Saw and Final Destination started out stupid and badly written and just dropped like a rock from there.
I disagree. I actually liked the first Saw and Final Destination. Although, I am in full agreement that any and all subsequent movies sucked donkey balls.

That is offensive to Mexican entertainers.

I already put this at What are you watching thread, but I think you should watch the trailer for the Indonesian Action Movie <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWlmhMSnVdM' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>The Raid</a> .

This movie made by the same team who made Merantau, Also Indonesian movie which practically popularize the Traditional Martial Art "Pencak Silat" in Western movie population.

This movie also rated as one of the Best Action Movie of The Year at TIFF 2011. Watch it and I want to see your comment. Does above statement true or false??

I agree with the top comment. Tony's getting a bit to much screen time in this one.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Tony Stark is the only reason why people who aren't Marvel fans are going to see the Avengers. The Iron Man series is the only widely successful franchise of Marvel films that is associated with the Avengers.

Sure, Captain America wasn't bad, but he only had one movie. The rest of the guys are scrubs who the general populace don't really remember. If Tony Stark wasn't in it, they would have to sell the film based on Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of Nick Fury.

Die Hard 5: A Good Day to Die Hard

<a href='http://www.slashfilm.com/die-hard-5-titled-a-good-day-die-hard-details-revealed/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Die Hard 5</a>

John McClane Jr.? Well, George Lucas or Spielberg aren't involved, so it could be fine.

And they're scaling up

1: wreaking havoc in a building
2: wreaking havoc in an airport
3: wreaking havoc in a city
4: wreaking havoc in a country

5: wreaking havoc worldwide

6: wreaking havoc in the solar system (or was that already done in Armageddon)

I am looking forward to The Man of Steel, scheduled for 2012. There's little info on it, but I'm still looking forward to it.

So they made Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood, and now Snow White?

Are they so desperate for ideas that they have to raid the Disney archives?

Yes, but he popularized them and created the definitive versions that everyone remembers. Nobody besides a bunch of online "I prefer the originals" arrogant posers gives a shit about the original tales. Everyone was touched by Disney's movies, not the originals.

I think you're misinterpreting him there. The post he was quoting was making it seem like modern day producers were stealing ideas from Disney, as if Disney itself came up with those ideas. He was merely pointint out that that isn't the case, not making any sort of preference statement.

Charlize Theron is hot enough to make up for it. Weird damn mirror though.

It can't be as bad as the recent Red Riding Hood. That movie was basically Twilight with renamed characters and a living Bratz doll as the star.
