If there its something that its likely to get Ichigo more angered than a creep like Yashima. . . its a bastard that uses the Sekirei as disposable tools for his overall goals. . ..EXACTLY like Aizen did with the Espada, and others.

I actually think the theme that's being established is pretty cool. It would be neat if, somewhere down the line, somebody makes the observation that Minato, a weak willed and wishy washy protagonist at best, get's strong willed Sekirei who will push him to action.
While Ichigo's Sekirei tend to be more reserved and in need of help, which fits Ichigo's MO quite well.
Edit: That said, Kazehana being Ichigo's Sekirei is still made of win.

Yachiru is loose in Shin Tokyo. Many Ashikabi, and would-be Ashikabis assume that she is an unwinged Sekirei. Minaka is pulling hairs on where this child with amazing speed and fierce aura came from. He just shrugs and decides that yes, that strange and mysterious child is a Sekirei, his super-secret, super-legendary #109.

Tonight was rather lackluster in terms of talking about chapter 5 in my chats with Ghostface, however 'bout half an hour ago we just started talking about the what if scenarios and something rather...tempting came up.
As to why we want your input?
You see, when we were initially talking about who we wanted for Ichigo's sekirei the number of Sekirei tended to go up and down like a rollarcoaster. I did not want too many, but the number of good ideas kept coming but we needed to curb it. Due to this, we came up with a rule.
Can not exceed or be equal to Minato's canon Sekirei.
And for the most part its served us well. And as you've no doubt guessed we've settled on five.
The first four have not changed. The fifth kinda breaks the theme thats been mentioned.
Now, the last half hour was rather... how to say, oddly lucrative, despite just being tossed out for a what if scenario. We've had moments of temptation in the last year, but have managed to stay firm. However with what we talked about...
To be blunt, I do not want to sacrifice our fifth to maintain our rule. But at the same time we are both EXTREMELY tempted more than we have been in the past.
In fact, the background tossed out does not even violate our own canon at all and works.
We have talked about Ichigo juggling his girls, not to mention other, how to say, drama from elsewhere from one left behind...
What say you, TFF? Do we stick at five? Or do we have your permission to break this rule ONCE ONLY? Anything else would be regulated to the Extra's what if stuff.

My first thought is Akitsu because of how much I enjoyed her character in <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6556187/1/In_Flight' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>In Flight</a>, but that would be treading on ground that has been done before, if you want to fine, but I have a feeling you're going for more originality. Though there is a possibility of being too original and hurting the story do to inflexibility, but I digress.
The second thought that crossed my mind is thus far you have had mostly wallflowers or romantics as sekirei, a good tsundere, battle maniac or hot blooded idiot would go a long way. But while they add something to the story comedy-wise I'd hate for an over the top character to pull focus away from other (just as deserving) characters.
In my opinion 5 is fine but if a 6th is needed I'd think that a sekirei that would bring something to the flock that is thus far lacking would be ideal. I think you are too worried about making Ichigo's harem disproportional to Minato's, if Ichigo recovers it doesn't matter how big one's flock is in comparison, Ichigo is going to be the strongest around if he only had 1 sekirei.

Personally think you should stick to five. Having too many characters to read through will bog down the chapters, just like In Flight.
And I voted for Namiji because well, I don't want an established character. Just about every one of Minato's Sekirei's are two-dimensional bimbos, with maybe the exception of Homura. They aren't worth jack to flesh out because they have such a weak characterization. The minor characters, on the other hand, are basically blank slates that can be molded and fleshed out way better.

There's nothing wrong with Akitsu, but this time, she should be skipped. Let Mikogami. Every fic where Minato starts out with a diffrent sekirei, Akitsu somehow end sup in there sooner or later. Every. one. of them. I'm not kidding.

In our eyes no. In the eyes of someone like Ichigo? Hell Yes. Higa is basically a wannabe Aizen using his Sekirei as disposable tools and in canon was holding the treatment for Uzume's dying ahsikabi in his hospital hostage to blackmail Uzume to thin the herd rather than get his hands dirty by sending out his own Sekirei. He also kidnapped Yukari and held her hostage, going so far as to try to force her to become his fiance, to do the same with Shina. So, assuming he was planning on trying to force a marriage on her, you have the potential for rape on top of his other acts of general dickery.
Frankly, the speculation about other Bleach characters is mostly harmless fun. If pushed by circumstances, Ichigo will clean house himself, and it won't be his Sekirei doing the dirty work. Ichigo will literally march into Higa's office and put him into traction. And Higa being who he is, he'll never see it coming. The fact that Minaka has set rules that leave the Sekirei and Ashikabis above the law in Tokyo except where MBI is concerned pretty much means Ichigo is free to assault Higa at will as long as it isn't a Sekirei doing the attacking.

Ahh, I was focused mostly on hammergirl's canon master. Higa would warrant more thought in dealing with, mostly cause he has a lot more resources. All he'd have to do is point out that killing him would also kill all of his Sekirei, and is he ok with killing that cute little girl over there?
... of course, he may not be considering how many wounds someone can take before they die.

Ichigo has years of experience beating up regular thugs and gang members that bullied people in the area. That's how he met Chad, after all. Putting Higa in the hospital a few times without killing him would be a snap for him.

I don't think 6 girls are a good idea... then again I don't think more then the first three you've set up for are a good idea. Oh I could see him gathering that many, but Ichigos not a pushover so unless you spend a lot of time developing the how and
why of making that relationship work I don't think he would treat his other Sekirei like life partners rather then teammates or friends. He doesn't need to wing these girls in most cases to protect them after all, especially once he gets his power back.
