Oh yes!

Well, i just wanted to say that it blew my mind off when i realized the connection between Jon and Daenerys
That was a popular theory actually.  I was really hoping it wouldn't be the case, because it feels too neat for George "If your fav ain't dyin' i ain't tryin'" Martin. But I guess he was just subverting our expectations again with it. I can still hold out hope that this is just a divergence of the T.V. show from the books, and part of an elaborate troll by Martin and the Showrunners.

Which, incidentally is also how I justify my hope that Stannis wins in the books.

Designated Survivor.

I'm hooked. I hope they don't screw this up.

The new season of Forged in Fire is really good. Like how they upped the challenges in this season.

Also, the new season of South Park is starting out well.

For a while now, blacklist has been a guilty pleasure of mine, mostly due to James Spader.  But in trying to catch up to the new season, I had to watch season 3.  And I don't think I can make it through this current plot
another surprise pregnancy plot.  I'd love for tv writers to just universally agree to a ten year ban on surprise pregnancy plots, to give the storyline time to rest.

Lethal Weapon.

Was okay, but a bit odd. Dunno if it'll last or not, it had some funny moments, but it's weird seeing the characters being played by other people.

Wayans seems particularly out of place. He doesn't really seem old enough and has a bit too much of the LA attitude about him for Murtaugh. I can't see him saying he's 'too old for this shit' even if it wasn't on network TV. His take on the character is prissy and too sensitive, and doesn't seem very much like a down to Earth blue collar guy who has been working the streets for 25 years. He doesn't seem tired, is too confident, and lacks the family man feeling Glover managed.

It is kind of odd hearing Riggs with such a pronounced Texas accent. He lacks the manic and reckless crazy that Gibson brought to the role and is a bit too subdued. He's too quiet and relaxed and lacks that sense of being unhinged and unpredictable. They do manage to get across his depression, but didn't manage to capture his mania.

Wayans's Murtaugh is too energetic and lacks humility, and Crawford's Riggs is too relaxed and lacks that sense of self destructive rage that the films managed to give him.

As a funny buddy cop show it could work, but it really doesn't seem much like Lethal Weapon. The two leads seem like two completely different characters with the same names. They aren't bad as a duo in an action/comedy cop show pair, but it doesn't quite work in relation to the franchise. At least not with the first couple of episodes anyway.

Westworld is pretty damn awesome. Really great soundtrack that you should pay attention to when you watch it.

I need to read the book again. I haven't read it since the 90s and only remember very vague things about it, and I want to see what they pulled from it for the show and what's new. It's not super long, so that shouldn't be too much of a chore. It will probably be more interesting to me now, as with all of Crichton books, it gets a bit technical in some places.

I do remember seeing the movie and thinking it was just okay.

I dunno if it's a single season series or what. It's going to be hard to keep it going after a certain point. When the shit hits the fan, and it definitely will, there's only so far they can go with it before it stops being Westworld. Once things take a downward turn, the theme park is going to reach a point it can't be reopened and no new visitors will come, and everyone either dies or escapes. It kind of needs to have an ending to work, and they can only put off the eventual total meltdown for so long.

It's also interesting how there isn't really an established protagonist in the theme park setting yet. Everyone important is a villain or seems like they eventually will be one. You can kind of see where the lines are drawn in the park management side of things.

Yesterday, I caught the first episode of The Young Pope and the first two episodes of Nordic Noir thriller, Modus.

The Young Pope: I didn't care for it. The titular character is incredibly unlikable and there are issues surrounding the accession of such a young man to the Papacy that require explaining. Unfortunately, there are some conversations in Italian that weren't subtitled in the version that I saw, so who knows that they talked about?

Modus: I realise that it's like comparing apples with oranges, but I liked it more. The Scandinavians are quite good at crime thrillers. A criminologist/psychological profiler's autistic daughter witnessed a murder. The murderer is quite sinister, and has other people to kill during the course of the series. I don't want to spoil it by giving details, but it's worth checking out if you like crime thrillers and can handle subtitles as it's in Swedish.

We see the return of Jane Curtain as Charlene in Season 3 of The Librarians (She hasn't been seen since the Season 1 pilot) and things are definitely heating up as The Librarians face off against the ancient Egyptian God, Apep. The first two episodes were awesome and I can't wait for Episode 3 to come out this Sunday.

Just finished watching the newest episode of Sherlock.

Damn.

That very last bit didn't make sense, though.

I've been enjoying the Great Indoors. Not a bad sitcom, with plenty of mocking of millennials, which is always a good thing.

Remember people, if you can't laugh at yourself, what right do you have to laugh at anyone else?

I like the great indoors too, and am guessing the same is true for a lot of folks here. But .. it sounds like you are talking about a movie or TV show. Is there something really called that?

Yep. It's about a famous travel writer who's found himself having to work a desk and effectively babysit three millennials as their magazine has gone online only.

Good Omens is a "real world" setting. If you look in the Random Awesome Pimping thread, you can find a radio adaptation for download.

If you like that sort of thing, I mean.

I saw the pilot for Powerless.

It is not good. Like bad Channel Awesome level writing.

Potentially, it could be amusing in the future, but I can't see it lasting a full season at this rate.
