Cannon God Exaxxion.
*sigh*
1. I love the artwork, as expected of Kenichi Sonada. The Riofaldians especially are awesome.
2. I hate Hosuke. Damn if the characterization isn't good, but Housuke rubs me the wrong way, and even as I draw to the end in volume seven, I can't see it ever turning against him besides the assault, which just paints him in a 'better light'.
3. Kin'ba is awesome, and I wish she had a bigger role. The plot is tightly wound, so it's completely understandable why she didn't, but I still wish she had had a bigger part to play. Murata is badass too, so I can't complain with the pairing.
4. It's good enough that I want to buy it... HOWEVER... Darkhorse, like some parts with Gunsmith Cats, censored the more sexual scenes. It's not a LOT, but it's still a few, which just pisses me off. So, buying it's a no-go unless they re-released those (which isn't likely, at best). Yes, I realize that this is an understandable decision, but I'm VERY strict about censorship in the products I purchase.
It's a good series if you're looking for giant robots with a slightly more realistic approach. I don't mean that it follows physics, or anything like that, but it takes a route of 'using giant robots in warfare' to a more believable level than most.
