The Senshi are literal super-humans. I'm not saying they're required to turn everyone else into super-humans either, but keeping it a secret known only to them disqualifies them from being trustworthy leaders.
IÆll admit, this has bugged me for awhile, I just never got around to expressing the reason why until now. LetÆs be totally honest for a moment, how many secrets are being kept from you by your government for your protection or that of agents who are working to defend all those rights you hold dear?
Now I do believe that the government shouldnÆt lie or try to hide the truth from its citizens in most situations. That said some things will have to remain hidden from the people. This is fine as long as the citizenÆs voices are represented by some form of oversight. For example, I do not need to know the names, locations, missions or anything else to do with undercover agents, as long as those agents actions are monitored/directed by a person, council or administration that answers to the people.
I view the SenshiÆs secret identity in a similar manner. If I were to learn who they are I have now put myself and them at risk. These girls are defending the world from things I and the rest of the world havenÆt a hope in Hades of stopping, why would I hold their desire to protect their families from reprisal against them? Now, the reason I donÆt mind them not reporting to a government is because I donÆt trust any current government (or in fact any that have existed on earth to date) with access to that kind of power.
That said, once Queen Serenity has been elected Leader of Earth, President of Earth, Prime Minister of Earth, Queen of Earth, etc. then I view her powers and that of her Senshi being put at the disposal and used for the protection of humanity.
In short, I donÆt think their actions have disqualified them as trustworthy leaders.
