Well, that 'was' the reason why Chad and Orihime got their powers. And if you remember, Tatsuki was 'manifesting' her powers when Chad and Orihime got theirs. So she too was affected by the presence of Ichigo. The difference? Well, Chad and Orihime were able to fight off the Hollows, while Tatsuki was 'stopped' before it could go any further. Pretty much, the seeds of her manifestation was back right there. I'd be shocked if it didn't go beyond that.

Oh, and to add, Chad and Orihime also received training from Yoruichi. I'm sure once Tatsuki's power is shown, and she can control it, things should be interesting.

You should also notice that his power was signifigantly less before Rukia showed up. He pointed out that he was noticing ghosts more often, but it was a recent thing. Rukia's powers seemed to be the trigger to give him enough power to change others. Tatsuki spent lots of time with Ichigo, yet she gained powers at the same time as Keigo and Mizuro. It definetly seems that his newfound power is the cause.

That too. Ichigo, for the most part, could 'always' see ghost before. It wasn't until Rukia came into his life did his powers 'explode'.

I'm wondering what Keigo or Mizuro will do. I mean, we didn't really find out that they had any sort of 'manifestations' until at least after the Soul Society Arc (the firs time, I think, was when Keigo was attacked by those Arrancars. Mizuro? Don't know/forgot. ). And who else has powers now?

Oh yeah, it was also when Tatsuki's power was reinforced (she was the sole survivor of the mini-Arrancar massacre).

Keigo did show signs in the Bount arc. Granted it was said that he was protected by having very little spiritual power, but it could have been foreshadowing. And before you say that was fillers, it is official anime canon. In the new episodes the new mod souls have shown up.

If you go by the anime, the Bount said that Keigo could see Ichigo in his Shinigami form because he was on the verge of death. Granted, that may just be an assumption on the part of the Bount, since I believe that before that they showed Keigo seeing the random afro soul reaper that they keep throwing in, but as far as seeing Ichigo in Shinigami form, they claimed it was because he was near death.

Well you got to be careful with the term 'canon'. True, in terms of the anime, anything in the Bounts Arc is... 'anime' canon. :p But if you solely go by the manga (and say that is the only canon. Which this thread doesn't claim, but we are talking the mangas here. Hence the title of the thread, "Manga thoughts") not everything in the anime could be called canon since, while it stays truer than certain other animes, there is a reason why the Bounts Arc is called 'filler' when compared to the mangas. And there are certain scenes and so forth that had to be changed to due the change of format.

That all being said, doesn't mean that what they have said were 'wrong'. However, if what Sig is correct, sounds like they easily 'covered it up' by saying it is something else. That way, they don't accidentally 'contradict' whatever Kubo has planned.

Supposedly that arc was a scrapped manga plot line. He wrote it for the manga but decided not to use it. That gives it a bit more credibility for canon. I haven't seen any of it though.

You shouldn't. The fights are not only boring, they contradict the abilities of the characters as depicted during the previous arc. The fights also contradict other fights from that arc.

yeah, The Bount arc wasn't all that great, and it just dragged on for an unneccessary amount of time...

Plus not only did we get almost no Kon time, but they rubbed in our faces.

I don't really plan on watching the anime at all. I prefer manga for most things, except in cases where they gimped the manga and made something drastically different and better in the anime. Vandread is a case like that, the anime and manga are very different, and from the little I read of the manga, the anime is much better.

Yeah, he also always saw Afro-dude (the Shinigami put in place of Rukia).

He needs more God-damned air time! They're doing to him what they did to Kon in those accursed Bounto fillers!!! :p

Kubo Tite has done it again. Kaien is the ninth Espada. Or so it seems. It would make no sense that Kaiens soul would be there. It was either consumed or purified. But he does seem to have memories of Rukia. But if his corpse, being a spirit, was taken it might count as stealing his soul. Either way, if it's true Rukia is in for some more ancient teenager angst.

Well there goes GH's theory that Kaien is Grimmjow. :p

Anyways hmmm. Got to read the new chapter one of these days. :unsure!: Wish that it was 'next' week when I don't have school on that Monday. <_<

Can anyone explain what this is all about? I take it you are referring to the one Chad sees at the end of the Left Arm chapter.

Didn't the Hollow that killed Kaien consume his Zanpakuto? And then his spiritual-body? It's Aizen who were're talking about here, if he made a Hollow that could absorb Zanpakuto in shikai (can't remmember about sealed ones) chances are he was trying to make a Hollow Zanpakuto or something.

To quote wiki: "It is eventually revealed that the hollow that killed Kaien and Miyako was created by S?suke Aizen in his attempts to create a perfect hollow-shinigami hybrid. In the Hueco Mundo arc, the 9th rank espada is revealed to have the appearance of Kaien under his mask, suggesting that Aizen's interference with him was more complex than a failed experiment."

He is the arrancar that previously had his entire face covered by a mask. Some might say that it seems odd that an arrancar would have his entire mask, or that he could take the entire thing off at will, but it didn't have any of the typical hollow features, so it could have been a plain mask. Also their are images of Rukia while he's thinking.

Man, you could tell it was coming, but poor Rukia. Goes all teary-eyed at seein' ol' Kaien -Dono again, and he almost takes her head off. :(

This could go any myriad of ways right now. Thoughts?

I think Kaien needs to go against Aizen for the story to go forward. Aizen has too many advantages. Even if Orihime destroys the distortion orb he has too many over powered warriors under his command. But it looks like Kaien, if he is telling the truth, isn't fully in control. After all, it would be too easy if he could just leave and fight alongside them. If I'm right, then these events could lead to a positive form of turmoil. Also if the extra voice he used if really a seperate hollow then he is probably unique, or possibley the same as Ichigo. Neither shingami nor hollow.

It doesn't look like he has any memory. He didn't seem to recognize her at all. I wonder if he is going to be fixed up and go back to his post.

It also might be a special ability of this arrancar, to assume the face of a lost loved one. Sort of like Grand Fisher's lure.

With the new chapter out, and with the two speech bubbles in the last scene, I do believe part of it's Kaien. But, the other part is probably still the other hollow also.

Chad lived, not much a surprise. It seems that Aizen doesn't know that Kaien is alive, which is why he wore the helmet. It seems like he fights with the hollow a bit for control. Or that it just pretended to be Kaien. Can't tell until the next chapter I guess.
