Another random idea time

Mayuri is one of Aizen's accomplices.

Besides completely upsetting the entire basis of the Bleach storyline post Soul Society arc, it could also heavily slant the fight against Soul Society instead of the "Nobody Dies" arc we essentially got (good guys, that is).

And really, it quite fits. If Mayuri goes with Aizen he can basically toss aside the few ethical restraints Soul Society probably fits on him, and possibly being able to add Hollowisation to his own regeneration capabilities could make him near immortal.

EDIT: He wouldn't be Aizen's accomplice from the start, given he's still in the Maggot's Nest at the start of Turn Back the Pendulum. But Aizen has a hundred years to bring over a morally-void mad scientist to his side.

Also, something else I've been thinking about is how completely one-sided some of the fights in Bleach could become if either fighter had just one more week to train.

In particular is Rukia's execution during the SS arc, which got moved up by something like 10 days, just as soon as Ichigo finished his bankai training. Imagine if Aizen for some reason had a total brain fart and kept the execution on schedule. Ichigo with another ten days (possibly continuing to use the bankai thingie to improve his zanpakuto skillz) could quite possibly tilt the tables unexpectedly.

If he's completed bankai then it's likely he could materialise Zangetsu himself since using the tool would probably still be dangerous. He could also do Jinzen which is apaprently a viable training method.

Ichigo would be practicing in his bankai so he'd understand how it works and its flaws. He'd probably use Getsuga Tensho himself in this form too which would reduce his inner hollow's effect. I'd imagine he'd focus on mastering the Getsuga Tensho, standard zanjutsu/hakuda practice and getting a better handle of his reiatus.

There's also Renji who wouldn't have to rush to Byakuya this time. He could act as a training partner for Ichigo but their abilities are a bit of mismatch; Renji's bankai is far too big and cumbersome to be a threat to Ichigo.

Other things to consider are how Chad, Ganju, Hanatarou and Ishida are all in custody so the captains can learn about Aizen's death. I can't remember what Orihime was doing but I recall she ended up with Kenpachi. Hitsugaya's still doing his investigating and Hinamori's heading down the crazy town.

This has got a lot of potential actually.

Mayuri is Aizen's ally
I thought of this a while ago and I'm hard pressed to think of why this isn't the case in canon. He'd have even less reason to restrain himself and he have a lot more material when experimenting on arrancars and Hollowfication. And joining Aizen would put him in confrontation with Urahara which is a good incentive.

The SS arc wouldn't be all affected as the only change would be that Mayuri head to hill instead of ignoring everything. Unless Mayuri starts assassination bitches with science voodoo.

Mayuri being a traitor could also be interesting because at the moment of it he could pull out his little button thingy and press it.

Bam, instantly his entire division explodes like those dudes Mayuri used as bombs. Now they have no one who has any idea what anything is in the research division, and for good measure he also releases some nasty experiments out at the same time that they have to deal with on top of all the other shit.

Honestly he's just enough of a dickhead to do it too. :sisi:

The scientists start turning into monsters, the gigai come to life, artificial hollows are moving through the sewers...

Mayuri ruins everyone's day.

He could use the fight with Ishida as a excuse to go into hiding whilst his experiments run wild, creating one fuck-off huge distraction until betrayal time. Kinda shocking that this never happened in canon, especially given how the Ishida/Mayuri conflict was originally intended to play out.

This was pretty much what I was thinking when I said the entirety of post-SS arc would be flipped upside down for plot. If Aizen planned to leave, Mayuri would basically gut Seireitei on the way out and cause massive damage (with giant enemy crab hollows getting loose).

Tbh, Aizen could have done serious damage to SS before leaving even without Mayuri. Sabotage the research division, set up bombs around Seireitei, have modified/huge hollows swarm in etc. He just...didn't. I suppose he thought the effort wasn't needed.

Mayuri could probably pull it off in a more horrifying fashion though. Perhaps he cracks open the Maggot's Nest and lets the prisoners loose in Seireitei or drags them along for experimentation. And then there's what Mayuri might be doing in HM; modifying the arrancars, the Privaron Espada especially, stealing Szayel's abilities, using Rudobone to create an army of Hollows Nemus.

Basically, there's a 101 ways to seriously screw over SS.

How many times has Ichigo been killed anyways?

Also Random Idea, and I just so happen to be in the Random Ideas Thread.

It was suggested earlier that Rukia's execution date not change for some reason. This gives Ichigo more time with his Bankai, but it also gives him the chance to talk to Zangetsu about that white copy of himself, or that lucky Mask that's always saving his ass. In the HM arc he tried to avoid using his mask cause it was his trump card. If he manages to master the mask before the Vizard arc he can probably try to train it up more to the point where it's like the Byakuya fight against Ulquiorra, where he's all like 'Looks like I can't win without my own Bankai/Ressurection, and bam Tensa Zangetsu/Super Hollow Ichigo.'

Or it could go the Yachiru route for a WTF moment. Either way I'd make his zanpakuto a woman.á :snigger:
Sadly that was a dropped plot point. He said he named Yachiru (the girl) after someone he greatly respected a long time ago. I read a fanfic where he learns that his Zanpakutou hates Yachiru because he forgot her name and is calling someone else by it. Then comes the shocking twist that his Zanpakutou IS Yachiru herself, just taken human form like Lilynette and Stark. I think Yachiru became a chainsaw of death, but I'm not sure.

Hanatarou: Served as obvious character development for him and likely a big boost his confidence. I'm not sure how much canonical info we have about his zanpakuto so you'd probably have to rely on how it works in the anime. Which is pretty unique really makes him an ideal healer. Perhaps he's a part of the group sent to living world to act as a medic or maybe Unohana takes him under her wing as an apprentice.
I am supportive of more Hanatarou.

Aaroniero eats Rukia. Well, that's depressing.á :(

He would likely take Rukia's form and then try to eat the rest of her friends to increase his own power. Not sure how well that would work if everyone actually senses Rukia's reiatsu disappearing. He might go for various arrancar like the Privaron Espada depending on the timing. Could be interesting if he stays off the radar and eats the defeated arrancar, getting more abilities and power each time. Regardless, he's gonna get murdered by Ichigo in the end.

Orihime could be a factor here since she might be able to bring Rukia back. That actually relates to one of my own ideas where Ichigo finishes Grimmjow faster and they go to heal Rukia. Once that's done and they hear about the fight, Orihime could attempt to bring Kaien back properly using Aaroniero's frozen remains.
Bringing her back to life gets rid of all drama that could unfold. And SOMEONE WOULD FINALLY DIE IN BLEACH!

Hogyoku Isshin
Ichigo and his sisters will probably be the start of a whole new race. The Hogyoku dissolves the barrier between Shinigami and Hollows <s>because fuck that wish-making bullshit</s> so it's possible that Ichigo is actually born without that barrier in the first place. He's be a natural born fusion of the two races so his development go in an entirely new direction. Whether or not that effects the events that take place between his birth and the start of canon would depend on the writer.
What about Yuzu and Karin? Both are also children of the Hogyoku. Also, I want to see some Yuzu as a protag. Have for a while, actually. Had this whole plot planned out where Yuzu took Rukia's sword to the chest instead of Ichigo. Like Chad and Orihime before the damned Fullbring retcon, this kickstarts her reiatsu, so she's not a blank like she was in canon. And obviously took out the hollow. The reason she took Rukia's zanpakutou to the chest was because while she was dazed from the hollow attack, it also caused her to see a strange girl about to stab Ichigo. Misreading the situation, she runs forward and pushes Ichigo out of the way just as the sword is about to pierce him, and gets stabbed instead.

Random ideas:
- During the SS arc, Chad makes a turn in the right direction and ends up meeting up with Ichigo and Ganju instead of heading towards Shunsui.
You remember the first opening to the SS arc in the anime. It showed the entire group staying together and charging toward the Execution Tower or whatever it's called, while fighting off Soul Society in a constantly moving battlefield as they continue to advance. I wish canon was like that.

Finally, and idea of my own. Ishida DID shoot Mayuri in the head, and killed him for good when he went One Winged Angel.

Protags sticking together would be interesting. Lots of directions that could be taken though I doubt they'd be able to stay together the whole time.

Hm, if I was doing the Yachiru route myself, I'd probably have it so that when Yachiru first manifested she was still in an immature state and thus unable to communicate with Kenpachi. By the time she could, he had already started calling her Yachiru and his "fight alone" attitude stopped her from giving her real name. Hell, perhaps she doesn't even realise what she is because of the damaging relationship and won't until Kenpachi really tries to connect with his zanpakuto.

Alternatively, the reason she didn't have a name was because Kenpachi didn't have one at the time and that lack of identity had a deep effect on his soul.

I wouldn't expect her to actually be brought back in most cases. It's just a possible outcome.

Having one or two kids as protags doesn't interest me much, tbh, especially ones with little interest and experience in fighting. Perhaps if the scenario was similar to Stray Cat Strut with Ichigo already involved in spiritual matters or if it was set a few years into the future where the twins have come into their own powers.

Though the image of Ichigo storming SS with his zanpakuto-wielding sisters in tow is amusing.

I think he'd have to make use of the bankai doll to pull this off, even though that's not what it's made for. Otherwise he'd be transforming into a hollow with only Yoruichi (and maybe Renji) to contain it which would be dangerous as hell. Not too much mention if the change is sensed from outside the cave. Though even if he succeeds, he wouldn't go further than holding the mask for a few seconds.

Random Idea: Orihime Steps The Fuck Up
Where Orihime learns about the true nature of her powers from her Shun Shun Rikka instead of waiting for Urahara/Aizen and, after questioning her worth in this war, considers what she can do.

The big idea that pops into her head is "reject the event of seeing Kyouka Suigetsu's release" for all the shinigami. Of course, she shouldn't actually know about the zanpakuto yet but that can be handwaved by someone showing a modicum of intelligence and telling the humans about it. So she rejects the shinigami in the human world and the vizards, goes to SS with Rukia and rejects the shinigami hanging around there too.

Maybe Orihime decides that she's on a roll and cures Ukitake's illness and fixes Kuukaku's arm just because she can. She basically becomes a walking, talking fix-it machine. Then she gets kidnapped. But Aizen doesn't have a clue that the only ones still under hypnosis are his arrancar which'll be a nice kick in the teeth once that war gets started. Especially since Yamamoto won't feel any need to hold back when he doesn't have to worry about hurting his allies (much). And since this Orihime's being proactive, she's probably gonna get off her ass and try to destroy the Hogyoku like she planned to.

EDIT: And a genuinely random idea: Isshin becomes yakuza instead of a doctor.

And when Wonderweiss is about to explode, rather than jumping on the flames, Yamamoto releases his bankai and seals all the flames inside his sword.

And then he kicks Aizen's ass, over and over again.

A clichÚ trilogy "idea" that drips and stinks of fanon, inaccurate stuff and piece of shit writing:

A AU world where Ichigo is part of a vigilante group of supernatural humans who calls themselves "Fullbringers", a group that protect the City Nation of Karakura, a massive metropolis co-inhabited with humans and ghosts from the evil spirits known as Hollows and corrupt mortals whose greed and cruelty breeds fear and terror amongst the general population, and the official rulers of the city, the army of death gods known as Gotei 13 do nothing to fight the crimes and murders of their citizen, as they are more focused on the neighboring country of "something something Quincy", led by the cruel warmonger Juha Bach.

Anyway, the eighteen years old Ichigo joined the Fullbringers to find out the truth of his father and sisters murder ten years, and get revenge on the killer. The trauma of their deaths led to him awakening two powers:
The zanpakutou Zangetsu which is useable when the moon is up and a inner Hollow, which is channeled through shadows and darkness.

He use these two powers to quickly rise in the ranks of the Fullbringers, killing mafia and rapists, purging hollows and defeating corrupt shinigami officers as a vigilante.

The others on his (Fullbringers) side and their abilities are:
Ginjo (Holy Cross Sword)
Tsukishima (Sword that can cut anything)
Sado (Armor)
Jackie (Boots of power)
Orihime (Rejection)
Riruka (Doll control)
Giriko (Lesser time control)
Moe (Lucky knuckles)
Ishida (Rogue Quincy)
Tsubaki (Unknown, something with martial arts)
Yukio (Money and video games)
Keigo (Unknown, something silly)
Mizuiro (Tinkering)
And maybe the other unimportant human characters.

Anyway, I mentioned that it would be "trilogy".
The first part would be about Ichigo doing missions for and with the Fullbringers as he tries to find a clue about his family's murderer, while learning more and more about his powers.
The second part would focus of the Fullbringers getting into conflict with the Quincy that invade Karakura, an invasion force of Hollows from Barragan's army in Hueco Mundo and the mysterious Visored who seems to have a grudge with all factions in Karakura. Ichigo would also start to struggle and fight against the growing influence of his inner hollow.
The third part would be about Fullbringers, after winning against the Visored, repelling the Quincy and sealing the garganta that the hollows used to invade Karakura and Ichigo getting a clue that the higher ups in Gotei 13 were involded with his family's murder, finally begins their full "badass" assault against the corrupt Gotei 13.

After many "cool" fights, painful sacrifices and a mastery of his two powers, Ichigo finally confront the leader of Gotei 13: Yamamoto and begin the "epic" duel, where they both reveal their haxx powers.

After a tough battle, Yamamoto loses and curses Ichigo for being a fool and not realizing the truth before it was too late.

And then Ichigo almost turn around before he get stabbed by Ginjo, who reveals that he was the big bad who murdered Ichigo's family and this was all according to keikaku to take control over Karakura, and that Ichigo had outlived his usefulness.

Ichigo, who is about to die is saved by Zangetsu and the inner hollow, who combine their powers to save him, basically allowing his to reach a balanced state between Final Getsuga Tensho and the Final Hollow Form, allowing Ichigo to completely rolfstomp Ginjo.

Then the story can have a happy ending. Ichigo got his revenge, a harem (Orihime, Riruka and Tatsuki, maybe add in a suddenly bisexual Chizuru for no reason) and together the remainers of the Fullbringers take charge of Karakura and begin to work with creating a world of peace and prosperity, free from corruption and evil.

I was thinking that the parts should have equally shitty names:
1) Fullbringer: Shadow of the Moonlight.(Learning on how to use his powers)
2) Fullbringer: Instinct or Hunger of the Moonlight.(Struggle with his control over his powers)
3) Fullbringer: Might of the Moonlight.(Mastery of his powers)
(Yes, I was listening to <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e80qhyovOnA' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Moonlight Shadow</a> when I wrote this...)

Think a fanfic about superhero vigilantes, then add minus 9001 in quality and you get what this idea is about. :(

Why would I know anything about one of the most illogical anime series of all time? Killing thousands of criminals while holed up in your parent's house is not going to stop crime. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't finished high school.

Random Idea: Gin decides to go traitor on Aizen at a much earlier point i.e. the SS arc. Possibly taking place at Sokyoku Hill after Byakuya rescues Rukia. Aizen prepares to finish the job himself but Gin, saying that he'd feeled cheated if he didn't do it or something, goes ahead to finish the job and places himself within reach of KS. Believing that the current state of affairs were enough of a distraction, Gin goes bankai.

Couple of options for what happens next:

1) Gin gets a direct hit and Aizen dies. Which leaves a Hogyoku, one last traitor and a leaderless group of arrancar back in the Hueco Mundo.

2) Aizen survives either by dodging the blow or ensnaring Gin within an illusion beforehand which led to him holding a fake KS. He may or may not pull off killing Gin before help arrives but either way he's lost an asset (even if said asset never helped him much after that point anyway).

Just a divergence I considered when wondering why Gin took so long to take his shot, other than it being anti-climatic. Though the plausibility of the idea's questionable considering how ridiculously cautious he is.

Another idea: Ichigo defeats Grimmjow and runs away with Orihime and Nel before Nnoitra gets close. They join up with everyone else, doing whatever rescuing and healing is necessary before deciding to GTFO. Presumably, they have some way to contact Urahara so a Garganta can be opened up for them.

But things take a bad direction when the enemy forces converge to prevent their escape. In the end, the group only manage it thanks to Ishida's self-sacrifice who stays behind to ensure they all get through the Garganta. So the protags manage to rescue one of their own but at the loss of another so there's no real sense of victory. If you wanted to really up the "oh shit" feeling then Chad or Renji might have stayed behind Ishida.

(Obviously, this divergence assumes that the FKT arc isn't taking place yet.)

The main point is that Ichigo, grieving and feeling pretty damn guilty about the whole affair, decides to meet with Ryuuken. He may or may not be the one to reveal what happens which could effect how the upcoming conversation comes about. Ichigo asks Ryuuken to teach him the Quincy style of combat so that he can honour his dead friend and carry on his legacy in his place.

He wouldn't actually know whether Ryuuken was a Quincy but he remembered that Ishida learned from his grandfather and somehow got his powers back, so it's basically a guess. Even if Ryuuken refuses, that wouldn't necessarily stop Ichigo from trying to teach himself to use it, likely use the way air-walking works as a starting method or advise from Urahara.

Learning the Quincy style wouldn't be the most logical course of improvement when he still has work in other areas, but he's significantly driven by sentiment at this point. It would have some general benefits though; Ichigo learning to control his spiritual energy in full, improving his senses and making his ability to control reishi far above that of a Shinigami. He'd also have a greater range of attack though he'd probably have to learn to use this in conjunction with his sword for best effect.

Some potential repercussions:
- Ryuuken would be far more invested in the war with Aizen now that his son's dead or worse.
- Depending on how the stuff with Ryuuken goes down, Isshin might become involved directly with his son's affairs.
- If the SS rescue never came in this scenario then Ichigo and company might be far less forgiving of the Shinigami.
- If Ishida (and whoever else) isn't dead then Aizen would undoubtedly include them in his plans.
- SS would be witness to a shinigami using the quincy style to fight whilst purifying enemies instead of killing them, opening up new possibility for themselves.

And much tamer version of this idea would involve Orihime learning the quincy style instead since Ishida 'died' for her sake.

EDIT: One more time; what if Aizen kidnapped Karin and Yuzu in addition to Orihime to see whether they have similar potential to Ichigo?
