The -trinity soul- anime ignores all previous Persona games.

It was also made before Persona 4 was announced.á The Answer as well.

Further, -trinity soul- isn't canon to Persona 3.

Which is why I wanted to write this story. A version of -trinity soul- respectful to the original games and without the show's compressedness and ham handed practices... could be really, really good.
And a multi-ethnic siamese twin doctor Persona user... that's also a robot.
No, just a Japanese schoolgirl who you think has a split personality but in fact is just a robot.

>>

Ryuugi: Thanatos, with "Don't Fear the Reaper".
Eh. Idea needs more cowbell.

Damnit Sect. I'm watching a 100 greatest hard rock songs list today. That song, and the SNL skit was mentioned there.

Funny story: Back when those Full Motion Video Games were still around, there was an... interesting one called "Ripper", with one hell of a cast, including Christopher Walken in one of his zaniest roles since... well, the last role he took.

The song that was the intro song AND a vital clue in the end? "Don't Fear the Reaper".

I've started to recently wonder about something....

How DID they manage to get Minato to come back to Iwatodai/Tatsumi Port Island? Did they just randomly pick him?

The only thing that I can think of would be that Ikutsuki knew that Death was sealed into Minato from Aigis' memory banks, and then had spent the next 10 years searching for him and yet always had trouble trying to get the letter to Minato. This is due to the fact that Toriumi states that Minato has lived in a lot of places in those 10 years.

So finally after, or nearly, 10 years Ikutsuki FINALLY manages to get the letter to Minato who accepts it due to Death's influence....

Actually, that reminds me. Minato was gone for ten years and lived all over the place. What happened during all that time?

There should be a fic exploring that; maybe I'll even write it if I get a chance.

Let's see; what do we know?

We know he moved a lot.

We know he could see the Dark Hour.

We know that by P3, he could masterfully use, like, a bazillion weapons.

What else?

I've been thinking about this too, along with a little story where both the Male and Female protags survive and are siblings....yeah.....

But eitherway~

Various Skills:
Masseuse
Various Instrument player
Strong Swimmer
Kendoist
Artist
Photographer
Track and Field

Yeah, I know I took the various school clubs, but they could work :x

Only if the school permits it, not all do in Japan.

For weapons you could have Minato an archer and Minako* a kendoka for role reversal.

*I declare that her name. Deal.

Neon genesis evangelion, or any mind-trip anime, like maybe paranoia agent, or darker than black... :huh.:

Somehow I think Lucy might fit right in.

Though she'd probably be mistaken for a Shadow if encountered during the Dark Hour.

Somehow I feel sticking her in 4 would be lulzier. Her interactions with Teddie, at least, would be hilarious.

Come to think of it, the method by which Personae are acquired, Lucy's mental state, and her opinions of humanity... that's one hell of an interesting stew, if you did it right.

It works best if the anime has a strong magic or psychological element. Some sci-fi ones like Ghost in the Shell might work but most of Gundam wouldn't.

Code Geass (focusing on Geass and excluding the mecha and Lelouch's improbable genius)
Denpa teki no Kanajo
Kara no Kyoukai (fewer super powered beings than the rest of Nasuverse)
Boogiepop
Mononoke

It would probably be easier to ask which series would work well with the themes of the Persona series as I could easily think up dozens of different scenarios introducing shadows and Persona to another series. When you try to match a series up with one like P3 it gets hard.

In that case, let's do this, too.

New idea:

The Persona series (you know, in general), takes a lot of Persona from Myths and Legends and stuff. Here's an idea, though.

What if those Myths and Legends weren't just Myths and Legends? What if they were real?

Now we generally see some of this scattered through out the various games, but what if you pulled out all the stops? I'm talking bro-fisting the Archangel Michael, playing games with Death (he's gotten bored of chess since the coming of videogames), dealing with Demons after your soul, and the Greek Gods and the Norse God and everything else.

Any ideas?

So far, I've got just one. I like Orpheus Telos and stuff; he's cool. Having said that, I was somewhat put off to find that Minato's Ultimate Persona was just a color changed Musician (if the best Musician ever). Messiah was way cooler, even though he wasn't as good with Guitar Riffs.

But then I though 'Well, who else would it be?'

And something came to mind.

I figured it needed to belong to the Fool Arcana, which implies a degree of foolishness. And I thought 'Hey. Adam's sorta, kinda fucked up everything with that Apple, even if it wasn't completely his fault. Does that count as an Act of Foolishness?'

And I thought 'What kind of side effects would having the Original Man as your Persona have?' And I figured it's be hilarious to find out.

Could it work?

This would basically be a mainline SMT game where people have Personas. Sounds like...

GRAH!!!

The idea won't leave my head....Gotta put this here while I work out the kinks on my ideas :x

So I was just randomly purusing various Anime Insert songs and I come across Kobato's insert song "Ashita Kuru Hi"....

While listening to the song, I somehow combined it with my idea of having both the MC and FeMC alive and with both being twins >.>

The actual part takes place where the hurricane DOESN'T come and ruins the school festival.

The school hosts a talent show where Hamuko, being the adventerous, peppy, happy, and outgoing girl she is, signs up both Minato and herself to be in the show.

So when their time for their act comes up, Hamuko sings "Ashita Kuru Hi" while Minato plays the Piano for it. It is a HUGE success for them which allows them to win the talent show.

I can understand that it may not have THAT much to write about, but I keep thinking of the FEELING the Audience is feeling while Hamuko and Minato play the song. Plus, we can't forget the thoughts the twins are thinking while they play...

Are they in key? Are they synched well? Can they pull this off so that they don't look like fools for just jumping into it?

......yeah...just a random idea that came to me and I had to get it out of my head...

But that does make me wonder...What WOULD happen if the School Festival wasn't cancelled? How would Minato get out of the Yukari/Yuko/Chihiro incident? I haven't gotten THAT far in P3P FeMC route yet >.>

Watashiwa: I can't find anything about either of them on the SMT wiki; could you tell me a bit more about them?

TkMacintosh: For some reason, I think this song fits better, but that could just be the awesome guitar solos talking:

Not much to say. The two were going to be major characters in the Shin Megami Tensei XBOX MMO SMT: Nine. Game was only ever released in Japan, never got the online component, and I think was never completed.

Also, the protagonist in SMT 1 was a reincarnation of Adam, and the female lead was Eve. Lilith also showed up as a fairly major character.

So nothing to really support ideas, but nothing to really contradict them either?

That's cool, I suppose.

I was about to say that you were wrong, and the two characters in question were Izanagi and Izanami, but then I remembered that that was true in the book, not the game.

Still, it amazes me that they haven't done anything more with Adam and Eve: that seems to be a myth that SMT would be all over, what with them constantly playing with YHVH and Lucy.

I know! That's kind of why I got this idea. I mean, in just Persona three, there were, like, a dozen guys I had to look up, and I'm a Mythology buff. But no one used the story that caused, uh, pretty much everything in the Bible?

Hell, after the Creation itself, it's probably the most important story in the book, and one of the most famous.

And there isn't even an entry for Adam and Eve on the SMT wiki.

Son, I am disappointed.

In my opinion, Adam would have been cooler then an Orpheus recolor (even if it was a very cool recolor).

Of course, if Minato was Adam, it brings to question who's Lilith, Eve, and that one wife created between them (did that girl ever get a name?).

Actually, I got the impression that Minato was Jesus, not Adam: Minato's ultimate persona is Messiah, after all, not Orpheus Telos.

And I just realized this: anybody see the interesting parallel between Minato's and Seta's first Persona? Both were men who tried to bring their loved one out of the Underworld, only to fail when they looked back. Of course, I'm probably the last person to realize that, but...

Hah, wrong game. The book was Megami Tensei, which also had a game series based on it in which the main characters were Izanagi and Izanami.

Shin Megami Tensei is the Super Nintendo/Famicom name for the series. Calling it Super Megami Tensei would have resulted in people getting punched in the face in the marketing department. :p

Though, since Messiah was the one to show up in the ending credits with all the other Ultimate Persona, he's got a little more support.

A story about Messiah!Minato would be cool, too, so I'll give it some thought.

And yeah, I noticed that.

I also noticed the progression of Minato's persona. He lost to Death, then he was Death, and then he defeated Death.

Less then, equal to, and greater then.

Orpheus, Thanatos, Messiah.
