The guys behind the music to Shovel Knight, which had a great soundtrack, are producing a feature length Virtual Reality Rock Opera.

Seems like it might be very cool.

Nuren: The New Renaissance

There's a demo track you can watch to see what the project is about.

Toejam & Earl: Back in the groove

.....huh....a sequel following the originals Isometric gameplay....never thoughts I'd see that.
After the last two I'd have to agree. I'll be keeping an eye on this. There are enough devs I know that I might consider dropping a few bucks on it depending on how things pan out after a week or two.

Right, so this is a thing:

Unraveled: Tale of the Shipbreaker's Daughter- Adventure RPG

Interesting little stylized RPG Kickstarter. Only asking for 15000, but it's got three days left and only hit a third of its goal. If you think it looks interesting might be a good idea to toss it a couple bucks.

Seems to be doing a lot with a relatively simple style of game, from your standard turn based combat, room decorating, to simple platforming and Zelda like puzzle solving (Plus dancing apparently).

Also there's underwater sections which I've long held as underutilized in games. I honestly don't expect it to succeed this late in the game but thought I might give it a shout so it might get the attention it deserves somehow.

Kickstarter Wild Fire

Wildfire is a stealth platformer where you have the ability to control fire. As this rare, latent power unexpectedly manifests within you, you'll find yourself pursued by a deadly army of swordswomen, skilled archers, and their vicious, trained animals, who fear what you are capable of. Sneak in shadows, creep through tall grass, and conceal yourself in smoke as you summon fire to terrify enemies. Use their fear against them to create opportunities to slip past, or trick them into their own demise - but be careful that the fires you start don't grow out of control and scorch everything in their path - including you

Holy shit was this funded fast!

I'll give it a shot for sure. I could use another Symphony of the night Metroidvania style game. Too many have been more metroid than vania recently. Not that it's bad, it's just nice for a change of pace.

Would be nice if it reached the David Hayter VA tier on the stretch goals. Not so much for him, though I don't mind him, but so that the game can be fully voiced, that's always a bonus.

And now we've given David Hayater a Job.....that's right who loves you baby!
Damn, this campaign is blowing up. It's gone up 200k in just a few hours. It was 700k when I made my first post.

The Backer Achievements section is interesting.

I guess they've got the right formula going here. Lots of SotN fans out there and some respectable names on the project. I'm as glad to see Yamane's name on it as I am to see Iragashi's name. She's got some great Castlevania soundtracks under her belt. I think I like Dracula X a bit more than SotN as far as soundtrack goes, it's close though.

Has this even been up a day yet? It's got more than a month to go and it's looking like the next two tiers are easily within reach.

Well it just broke the 1 million dollar milestone, so I'm fairly certain it'll max out by tomorrow morning.

Kickstarters go all in a U shape. Lots of funding at the start, a trickle from like, day 3-30, then another massive surge at the end.

A million in what, 12 hours, is pretty solid though. Not as gangbusters as Yooka-Laylee, but solid.

It's reached 1,430,000 as of this posting. All Kickstarter goals have been reached, it's just gravy on top of success for the devs at this point.

I don't recall the last time I saw a serious Kickstarter campaign reach its goal and all of its stretch goals in less than two days with goals as high as it has.

This one could easily hit the multi-million mark in the end. Impressive for a game with a 1,250,000 top tier stretch goal.

Especially considering that the second tier beyond a $5 donation was so expensive at nearly $30.

Looking forward to this game for sure. As are quite a few other people it seems.

Edit: More than $1.5 mil. They've added more stretch goals up to $2mil as well.

IGA confirms that if the campaign hits 3 million, which it shoudl easily do, "Armature Studio will join the fray to handle the Wii U version" per their most recent update. This is a company foudned by some ex Retro folks, who have done a lot of vita ports, as well as the borderlands handsome collection and Batman's blackgate game.

Keen. I've got a copy coming, but if it's decent I might just get it for the Wii U as well. Metroidvania games make good toilet titles using the gamepad screen.

Looks like the vita version was also fully funded.

Also, super early animation test!

Looks on point so far. They mention they will change her walk to a jog animation though.

Also announced that the posted that comes with the $250 collectors box is by Yoshitaka Amano, who will hand sign them for the new $800 tier.

Game is sitting at $3,701,791 on kickstarter with an additional $118k from Paypal backers. Should easily clear 4million by the end. 4.75 woudl be ideal, though, 5 million would be the dream.
