idea 1:
While auditing the dorms books, someone notices an accounting error that shows a massive gap in funds. Which wouldn't be a big deal, as they could weather it provided nothing major happens that demands the money.
So naturally something like that happens.
Queue the cast trying all sorts of methods to earn some quick cash, as their normal jobs won't fill the gap in time.
Idea 2:
Fairly easy setup: the girls find out Su's a princess earlier int he series. How does this effect their relationship with her? I'm thinking Kitsune reads an article mentioning a Su royal family, and off the cuff asks if there is any relation.

I can also imagine a scene where Keitaro is kidnapped by the maid cafe and he's nearby when someone calls Haruka and the Hinata girls, there is a lot of noises that make the girls think he's being tortured...
Only for the caller to reveal that the maids are enjoying teasing Keitaro and doing their best to make him want to stay. Dunno if it is because the workers at the maid cafe are taken with Keitaro, or if the cafe owner is having them try to steal away Keitaro to simply annoy Haruka.

Depending on how Keitaro is written, I can almost see the other girls ignoring public opinion of anything they wear, just to get him to notice them.

I had actually assumed from the description it would be a Haruka centric fic...
Could be amusing if he tries to hire Motoko to model one of the characters (coincidentally, the one based on her), but I would have difficulty believing that he'd be that confident in his survival if he asked her. If he gets Haruka to find him some models, though, I could see it happening.
Perhaps he just happens to draw characters similar to the Hina girls from memory (because some of the characters are just so similar, and he does have rather a lot of memories of what the Hina girls look like in various states of dress and undress), and Motoko figures it out when she sees his work.

So... if Keitaro bases the looks of the characters on the tenants, and Motoko writes exaggerated versions of her fellow tenants...
How long before the tenants find out? What would their reactions be?
I figure Kitsune would be a mix of amusement and offering either advice or a chance to reenact certain scenes, Shinobu probably would be glowing red from blushing, Mutsumi probably would begin to call her fellow tenants the names of the characters in the book, And Naru either would cut herself off from Motoko and Keitaro or call for blood.
I have no idea what Sarah or Su's reactions would be.

In that series, no blame for anything lasting ever gets put on anyone but Keitaro... because that is the way of things in that anime universe...
Naru did not blamed for being a pervert for entering the bath, molesting Keitaro, and dragging and slamming him into a rock... plus all the subsequent hitting
Kitsune did not get blamed for all the pranks on him
Motoko got no blame for the sheer number of attacks on him
Suu and blowing him up... no worries on her getting blamed, besides, she probably has diplomatic immunity.

Even Granny Hina got no blame for deliberately betraying and setting them all up, and boy she sure should have.

OK, here's an AU: What if they did? What if, even if Keitaro is his canon far-too-forgiving self, Haruka, and occasionally the other girls, did put some blame on members of the group who clearly do wrong. Even if it's just Kitsune teasing Naru for being a perv, and Motoko audibly wondering how safe it is to bathe with her (or other such things for the other girls), that could take the story in interesting new directions.
