Akamatsuverse Negima manga discussion

I am one of many who predicted something like this would happen. It was obvious when he decided to end the series just as the new volume started.

I would have been satisfied if he'd just done two things.

Established what had happened to Arika instead of ignoring her after Negi gets put into that dream world.

Second, let us know who the love interest was!

Explaining what was up with the Master of the Grave would have been nice as well. An interesting character who gets revealed to be a relative, if not ancestor of Asuna and possibly Negi, and we know nothing about them.

A definite disappointment.

Heck, it would have been easy for Nagi to have commented about his wife in the final issue. Just an extra page or two would have given him the chance. Heck, having her show up with Nagi at the end would have helped.

They never explained why Arika couldn't raise him either.

Just a severe disappointment.

As for me, I don't mind that not everything is explained or wrapped up in a tidy neat little bow.

Quite frankly, I wasn't expecting it too.

What I did hope for was some closure with the Nagi/Arika storyline. The Negi relationships... well, we all knew that wasn't going to be elaborated on.

It is quite a shame that the whole Nagi thing didn't finish though. That seemed like it would be a good story.

Just my 2 cents.

Also, was Anya mentioned at all?
Not directly at least. Maybe in one of the students ramblings/half cut off conversations, but I never saw anything that could even vaguely relate to her. In the alternate future, yeah, but the True End, no.

Was it even mentioned what happened to her after the Magical World arc. Did she go back to London?
She's one of the silhouettes in the group pic of Negi's Ministra, along with Mei, Setsuna, and Konoka. Probably Takame as well.
Link please.

I more or less agree with this. The who Negi ends up with B-Plot was always, always unimportant. Which is why it was so strange to see it get so much focus in the last few chapters.

What gets me is the way the Nagi story got resolved, when its the Main Story Arc. Saving Mars? That's the Magical World story arc. What happened to Nagi? That's the Negima story arc.

You know, thinking of Chisame's situation, Perhaps she become something of the Oracle to Negi's batman.

She may work from home, but she's effectively telecommuting, as well as using the sprites and such to gather information and dispense the necessary advice.

The only reason I can think why she's not doing all this in person is with Asuna there, she doesn't need to be by his side to keep him from doing stupid crap. In the alternate timeline, I get the impression that's one of the roles she settled into.

So basically, Asuna's return screwed her form that perspective.

If you really look, you can tell the figure by Yue's knee is Anya. Right hair style, and wears Anya's normal outfit.

I know the ending was kinda disappointing, but it could have been a lot worse. He at least gave summaries on what happened to each of the girl's, while hinting at various stories that happened off screen.

While it doesn't say who Negi ended up with, or how Nagi became free, those weren't really important. The story was never about who Negi would end up with or freeing Nagi.

The story was always just about a boy wizard named Negi who is a teacher at an all girl's middle school in Japan and the adventures he got into with his time there.

That wasn't an ending. That was a badly done epilogue that included information that would usually be ut in a databook.

The end was when they saved Asuna and converted Fate.

EVERYTHING AFTER THAT WAS EPILOGUE. [Capped for emphasis]

We all just hoped that it was a transition arc. Sadly it wasn't.

God, that Negima ending is just as unsatisfactory as the Mass Effect 3 one.

Never thought I'd say that.

At least the Negima one was in lore and had some closure. the ME 3 one made absolutely no sense.

Is it wrong to say that even Evangelion's original ending made more sense than ME3.

This makes some sense from what I glimpsed of it.

Mind you, the end was still sloppily written given the amount of time he had to prepare.

yeah i saw that, more scum bag power grabs by corporations.

I wonder how long it'll take before some take over countries.

^ hmm. And here I thought he was just taking time off to build his online manga service thing that he started a while back.

I already knew about his support for doujin as he was a staunch opponent against the proposed censorship laws a while back.

Wow that sucks. Now I don't feel so mad at him. Maybe he can get a deal with a US publisher.
