Not a perfect answer, but could be used in lieu of aging pills, if necessary.

Are age deceiving pills used? Because a ten year old teacher is one thing, a ten year old teacher who remains ten years old for the several years she teaches you is just asking for trouble.
Can't she just use a glamor spell to appear older? She seemed to have no issues doing that a few times in the manga.

Just say that the spirits are allowing her to do that as part of her incarceration at the academy.

I think the only times we've seen her do that was within her little 'mini-world bottle' thing. She seems to be able to use magic freely there.

I think Age Deceiving Pills are probably the best bet for Eva passing as a teacher, unless I'm missing something.

Screw the logistics, I want to see this written!

She also did it in her intro arc. She was an adult when negi found her and the vampire classmates.

The phases of the Moon have a play in it as well; Eva vamps out at the Full Moon, but the rest of the month, she's an ordinary human.

Got my shiny new Kindle for Christmas, needed something to read on it, so I finally broke down and dug up Discworlds. Figured I'd start with the first one that got written.

Now I have this amusing image of Death popping up and trying to convince Negi to die since his dad interrupted his proper appointment. There are so many opportunities. Eva's reaction should also be fun.

Well, that and now I want to run a character with a pet Mimic... which might also be fun to apply as an alternate familiar.

Thinking about the love potion candy incident. What if, rather than seeing Negi, Asuna had seen Ayaka?

While they may be vitriolic best buds, I don't think that it would go anywhere. Asuna might find Ayaka a fair bit more attractive, and often blush around her, but she probably wouldn't go much further than when she saw Negi. Maybe she would be a bit more affectionate before the potion wore off, but that would be about it. Although if she wasn't told it was a love potion, it would be interesting to deal with the conflicting feelings Asuna might feel now that she has found Asuna attractive. There would be not a little drama and angst for the hetero-chromatic redhead as she tries to reconcile her crush on Takamachi-sensei with the implications that she might be lesbian or bi, at least for Ayaka.

The blonde oujo, on the other hand, would be rather confused at how Asuna is acting. She is still into Negi more than anyone else, so she would see Asuna's affection (and furtive glances at her when the potion wears off) as maybe a way to apologize for their arguments, and maybe get her involved with more of Asuna's activities. Asuna, outside of her haughty demeanor she shows in class, is fundamentally a nice person, and might be a bit touched by it and try to include Asuna in more of her own hobbies.

Of course, this only serves to confuse Asuna more as she begins to wonder if Ayaka does like her that way, while Ayaka is thinking nothing of the sort. This might actually mean that Asuna trusts Ayaka more, and that Ayaka is brought in on The Secret before the others.

Somehow, upon seeing Asuna referred to as the Twilight Princess, I see her getting turned into a snarky imp who rides on Kotaro's back.

I just realized that pretty much EVERY student at Mahora who does their own research must be a major badass. How did I come to this conclusion? Library Island. All the stuff the Baka Rangers have to get through? That's the MUNDANE section of the library. They even have at least one club dedicated solely to explore the <s>deathtrap]</s>library. I'm sure research papers are regularly assigned, and you have to go through all that shit[/b] if you want to find some books.

Eh, actually, no. Library Island isn't the only library. In chapter 2, you see one in the <a href='http://www.mangareader.net/209-14835-20/mahou-sensei-negima/chapter-2.html' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Girls middle school</a>, and each individual school section in Mahora most likely has its own age appropiate library, so there'll be one of similar size in the boys' middle school branch, and even bigger ones in the high school and University branches.

For the advanced stuff you might have to go to the Island, but most likely you request the Library Exploration Club to find it for you.

Edit: Actually, from reading these <a href='http://www.mangareader.net/209-14841-1/mahou-sensei-negima/chapter-8.html' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>two</a> <a href='http://www.mangareader.net/209-14841-2/mahou-sensei-negima/chapter-8.html' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>pages</a>, it sounds like normal people don't/aren't supposed to go down there at all.

And even in the LE club certain ares are off limits depending on your age.

old idea: Negi decides to be a little strict with the girls and gives them a research paper, but being the nice kid he is he gives them a sorta far deadline of a couple of weeks. The time passes and suddenly most of the dumber and lazier members of the class student realize they only have 1 day left to do their paper and none of them have ever seen their books. So they sneak off at night to go the library and get the books (not wanting to embarrasses themselves be either letting Negi know or the library staff). They must now team up and go on an epic adventure, crossing raging book rivers, high cliffs, dangerous booby-traps, evil monsters, metal slime, and broken bridges in a quest to find and retrieve their individual books for their research paper meeting and rescuing long-lost library workers on their way.

And by the time they get back they not only missed the deadline, but they failed to come back in time for the end of term exam.

That would be...kind of funny, actually. Too bad for Negi, but the consequences would be amusing at first, what with nearly everyone realizing that they screwed over Negi and lost their favorite shota simply because they didn't bother to do their book reports.

I'm assuming that this is like the Tests that 3-A had to keep out of last place or lose Negi.

Well to keep it from just being a downer if they fail it could just be that if they miss the deadline and tank the exam than they would have to take supplementary lessons from the asshole teacher from the Kyoto arc.

On the length I think it could either be a oneshot or a small series with each chapter containing the exploits of getting to one particular girls books.

He wasn't really an asshole. Those students were out of their rooms and running around and getting into trouble. He even gave them fair warning that if he caught them again they would have to sit in sieza for the rest of the night. They ignored him, and deserved what they got.

He's an asshole in the same way the principle from ferris bueller's day off, his job conflicts with the main characters having fun.

No, the principal of Ferris Bueller's day off is an asshole because he's a pedophile.

I don't recall that, but I could be wrong, as I barely recall the movie. What event are you referring to, and do you mean pedophile in the sense of going for pre-pubescent kids, or in the sense of going for teenagers?

As long as this is 3-A and not 2-A Negi won't lose his teaching license. Also, it's not like they can be kicked out for failing. Mahora is an elevator school, they are guaranteed a diploma.

I was unsure where to put this, but...Chisame isn't as cynical as she wants everyone to think. her cynicism is mostly a mask so no one will be able to figure out the truth about her.

You see, roughly 5 years ago, she heard a telepathic call in a small forest, and ran to find a ferret in the woods. She got it to a vet, but then it called for help in the middle of the night. She was given a magical staff, changed into a magical girl, and had a lot of fun and exciting times collecting Jewel Seeds. She made good friends, knew real, live aliens! and was going to join a peacekeeping group in another dimension!

But all good things must come to an end. Her parents aren't the Takamachis, and they don't have as much experience in crazy stuff happening, so while Chisame still keeps in contact with her friends, she feels left behind because they are all becoming important people in the TSAB, and by the time she becomes an adult and is able to leave her parents, she probably won't be able to see them even if she does join.

The fight with the Wolkenritter was the kicker, though. She had her Linker Core drained, and it put her in the hospital. That finally told her parents that she was getting into something dangerous, and they tried to convince her to stop. Unfortunately, the young girl's will wasn't enough to overcome her parents' at that age, and retired when the Book of Darkness case was finished. Sort of.

Chisame isn't willing to let this go, however. She occasionally fights monsters and minor rogue mages outside of classtime as a vigilante. Her persona is none other than the Magical Girl Chiu!

Mahou Shoujo Chiu is a small celebrity among the Earth-born mages and the Mahounet(or whatever it's called) She knows about and is able to access it because during one of her escapades moonlighting as a magical girl she came across someone from the Kansai Magic Association who gave her some information about the magical world and told her that she could keep on doing what she was doing as long as she didn't reveal magic.

When Negi stops that eraser in the first day of class with an obvious usage of magic, she decides to watch him carefully. There are several times that her new teacher gets into crazy situations that can only be the result of magic, but she holds her tongue.

However, she reveals herself when Eva attacks, using minor disguise magic and introducing herself as "Magical Pretty Girl Chiu," and does her best "stop in the name of love and justice" speech, before attacking. Chiu manages to drive off Evangeline, before giving Negi and Asuna her card (she has several she keeps whenever she goes out as a Magical Girl.

Negi is starstruck, Asuna finds it ridiculous that there is a genuine magical girl on campus, and a new story is born.

Not sure about the mask thing, to be honest. My first thought was "Chisame in MGLN" then it went to "Chisame moonlighting as a traditional magical girl" and then "how does she keep her identity secret?". I always thought a simple face disguise wouldn't be enough to hide someone's identity, so I thought of how Christopher Reeve portrayed Superman, with a completely different personality under his disguise, or Batman being a millionare playboy in his secret identity.

You're right, though. The mask would be hard to work in.
