It's nice how I can tell which comic realm this is in since you know I can instantly recall each and every single character off the top of my head.
DC Comics. Lian is Roy's daughter.
Was.. She was his daughter :blue: :blue: :blue:

That did not happen. It's one thing to let characters die, it's quite another to kill off someone who never showed up in the entire arc for some quick drama.

So... Anyone chanced upon any good X-Men fanfiction? Movieverse too. There are some cool ideas from those.

So, I was reading a little too much into this. I thought that Calvin was Ichigo and got excited.

Does anybody know of a story where Peter came to an, hah...understanding with Venom ? That is, he went the diplomatic route instead of booting the symbiont out of his body and kept the black suit.

L.Burke did a number of fun stories of the First Class several years ago. You can find some of them here: <a href='http://redshades.tripod.com/archive.htm' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://redshades.tripod.com/archive.htm</a>

Minisinoo had collected them on her MedicineWheel site before shutting it down, so you could try the Wayback Machine to get the set.

Superman is the son of one of the most brilliant men produced by a culture that practically fetishizes science. What if his parents got the opportunity to see how his life turned out? Would they be proud? Or would they take issue with his life choices?

Hilarious one-shot from the guy who wrote Inviolate.

He even snuck the word inviolate into the story. I think he has a fetish.

Well, I'm not sure if they have been recommended yet, but I suggest <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2760303/1/The_Best_Seven_Years' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>The Best Seven Years.</a> Plot Summary: After over 10 years since moving to Britain, Calvin has to explain to Suzie just what he's been up to. Crossover with Harry Potter.

My thoughts: This is extremely well-written, and puts Calvin and Hobbes in character EXACTLY, and lovingly depicts the crazy antics they would get into while in Hogwarts. Another good point is that our favorite duo rarely if at all get involved with the antics of the main cast. They have their own story, and it's HILARIOUS. Also, despite having a lot of humor, the author isn't afraid to bring forward a serious plot.

And it's Prequel, <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmeM4N2eHhY' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>In Love and War</a>. Plot summary: In Calvin's attempt to do a report on the United States Civil War. In the process, they accidentally go to the Beast Wars era, where they meet the Maximals and Predacons and get stranded.

My thoughts: The story has just gotten started, and the updates are few and far in between. Still, like the first it is well written, and the hilarity of Calvin and Suzie's misadventures through time before the main plot kicks in is a must-read. Also, Calvin and Suzie both have Hidden Depths, which I look forward to more.

Oh, and the second, despite being a prequel, has next to nothing to do with the first. Comes very highly recommended.

:mmm: Why hello there members of the TFF. I'm something of a newbie around here, just coming in. Ironically I ended up finding this place via Tvtropes and the FF author MogtheGnome who mentioned this place and so I was curious. Right now I'm doing this and browsing the naruto section.

Anyways, since this is the recommendation topic, I have a recommendation!

It's a crossover series of X-men Evolution and G.I Joe, but it also crosses over with just about every major X-men comic out there.

Furthermore the author, known as Red Witch is one of my personal favorites with an incredibly vast archive of fiction under her name, seven hundred and something last I checked.

Warning her works can be very' Your Mileage May Vary' as I find she has the occasional grammar mistake and odd habit of replacing barely with barley. Furthermore her humor gets repetitive sometimes, but she makes very good OC's, note there are few, and is remarkable at being seemingly random while subtly and sometimes openly advancing the plot in a way that is entertaining as well.

It's not that much of a problem. Sure, there are more differences than...say, the way the LotR movies are different from the books, but not too many people care I think.

Speaking of crossovers with X-men cartoon, specifically Evolution, I very hesitantly recommend the Last Son series.

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3228742/1/The_bLast_b_bSon_b_bBook_b_One_Gatherings' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Book One: Gatherings</a>

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4009890/1/The_bLast_b_bSon_b_bBook_b_Three_Changes' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Book Three: Changes</a>

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason I say very hesitantly is because, while the author's writing style is good, there is massive fanwanking of the Kryptonians. I mean,
MASSIVE FANWANKING.
Apparently Krypton was in the process of solving the universe' problems and becoming ascended beings who could still interact with us mere mortals when Krypton was destroyed. And Superman is pretty much unbeatable. Not only is he more trained in using his abilities than our Superman is, he is also a supergenius on an insane level.

Plus, inventing kryptonian words to just use on a few occasions is really jarring. It's like <a href='http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GratuitousJapanese' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Gratuitous Japanese</a> taken to a ridiculous extent.

It depends on which era Superman. Superman's powers have changed over time, the original superman from way back when is significantly weaker than current day Supes, while the Golden Age superman could do things that were in the range of lol, what is this thing called reality and laws of physics.

Actually, I think the "ridiculous situation, do anything" was the Silver Age. Golden Age was "leaping tall buildings in a single bound" kind of strong. And anyway, it's not just the power level of Superman, it's the Kryptonians in general that are virtually treated as gods. Besides, this is supposed to be the Justice League Cartoon series Superman. Crossed with a bit of the Movie's crystal tech.

You know what? Just read the stories. The quality of the writing helps one to ignore the some complaints about the story and plot, but even that isn't quite enough.

Ok. But one more thing like that and I'm gone.

"the site of the "Big Bang""

I'll be generous and lump that with the other above.

Eh I gave it a try. Made it through the first book...then I lost interest a couple of chapters into the second.

It's just...so uninteresting.

Quality of writing? It reads like a script. He's just one of those authors who can't find his character's voices.

Its an interesting idea, but I don't recall seeing it done, at least not exactly.

There's something kinda-sorta similar in dogbertcarroll's <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6183080/1/Copycat' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Copycat</a>, but its basically Xander suggesting things.

Maybe it would be better to post the idea to a misc ideas topic.

Hey guys I'm looking for a spiderman fic that I read years ago on FF.net.

IIRC, it was based on the movieverse, Spidey met Daredevil and they agreed to stay in touch. Peter also got a new job offer as a scientist I think, Jameson was supposed to get in trouble beacause of his biased views of spiderman and Elektra also played a role. Last thing I remembe is Spidey and Daredevil teaming up to handle a terrorist attack or defuse some bombs... Oh and it was a 100k+ fic.

So, ringing any bells anyone?
