What manhwa are you reading?

Again, he put it into int because being more intelligent has real world application. He never intended to use his abilities for combat outside of killing spawned monsters to level up and explore his ability more. His focus on ranged magic came after he discovered it as a consequence of dumping his points into int. His binding came as a result of wanting to keep strong enemies away in order to more easily kill them for grinding purposes (and stay safe while doing so).

He was never really creating a build in the first place, since he never intended to legitimately fight anyone. It's only now that he's realized he's going to have to no matter what.

To be honest, I think the author is just trying to keep from completely overpowering him. Setting aside stuff like skillbooks, he learned ID Create and Mana Bolt from a five second explanation from Sun-Il to "gather and release strength from your hand". He doesn't have any training in mana or ki at that point (and both just fall under his MP) but he pulls it off and learns 2 new skills. And then he creates a bunch of variant powers like Spinning Mana Arrow and Bind pretty much just by willing it.

If it were me, I'd be trying to recreate every power I saw in any game/manga/anime pretty much ever. (And not for survival, either, but just because.) And from what I've seen, it would work. Jee-Han seriously has like one of the most broken powers ever. I'd also grind for drops and sell them on the Auction.

But he is doing all that.

It is just the drop rates don't look too generous despite the rare drops we see him get. He did a whole lot of off-screen ability grinding and level/item grinding.

...Even if he was concerned about totally munchkining, then isn't a wizard-build better than a martial artist?

I mean, it's not just a question of winning fights, exactly.

Protections and defenses, divining the future, teleportation, item creation, regeneration effects on self and others, summoning spirits as allies...

Even in a pure fight:

Wizards usually lose punching contests, so they fly thirty feet up in the air where you can't reach them and fire beams at you. Ideally while invisible. How do you punch that?

... isn't that what I just said, sorta? I dunno why you're basically just describing the D&D wizard, which shares tropes with like, nothing else ever, but didn't I just say the author is holding Jee-Han back so that doesn't happen because he could break the setting in half so easily?

Yeah, I was really more agreeing with you then disagreeing with you.

And I was actually thinking more of Caster from FSN than DnD wizards but I guess that applies too.

Oh, sorry, I got confused. I didn't think of Caster, but that just makes the point too. Han Jee-Han has been able to create several skills (Spinning Mana Blast, Spinning Mana Arrow, Mana Shield, Mana Rope, Bind) pretty much just by thinking about it. The only thing he failed was a Teleport skill, and we didn't see him actively try and channel mana in some form with that.

And once he does create a skill, he doesn't have to train in it a regular fashion. He just grinds it and it gets better. He doesn't have to learn the equivalent of chakra control or anything.

Dice: The Cube That Changes Everything 43-45

Last chanpter, Eunju gets back to talking to Dongtae like normal, though she's still troubled by the dice, both those that still taunt her for not using the dice, and because all the other people in the chorus dropped out to become dicers themselves. And Taebin. The Dice Race quest gets announced during class, but Dongtae (and Taebin) are the only ones to not get it. And nearly everyone forsakes class to make it down to the field in order to get more dice.

Mio questions X about why Dongtae didn't get the same quest as everyone else, then goes after Taebin to get some intel, though he's certainly not willing to talk. Dongtae, however, figures out what the secret to getting quests and dice is -- desire. The more you desire, the more quests you get; the less you desire, the less quests you get. This triggers Taebin's memory about his life at his old school, from where he first met the guy that provided him dice, a white-haired guy named Mooyoung who waxes philosophic about the concept of desire, how it's never completely satisfied until it gets something much bigger to quench its hunger. And this eventually cuts to a scene where said Mooyoung goes around killing the other A ranking dicers with his Time Pause ability in his quest to get "the last dice." Taebin is the only survivor, but knows Mooyoung will eventually come for his life again, hence he's bound and determined to stop him once and for all, and wants no one's help, especially not from A Rankers, as they "can't become allies."

Meanwhile, everyone from the Dice Race get to participate in what is called the X Sports Festival, which is a fancy term for classmates to go all Battle Royale on each other. It's absolute carnage as fellow students turn on one another, beating the holy shit out of each other in order to get more dice. Eunju jumps in to save one of her friends who desperately wants out of this mess, only to almost get herself beaten up, too. Dongtae uses his Time Pause skill to rescue Eunju and her friend and sort out the mess that's going on, only to catch a glimpse of a white-haired blur within his Time Pause field.

In a nutshell, shit is about to get real.

Jae-Gu is the Mack Daddy (or Daddy Mack). But yeah, tensions be rising...

Honestly, I like Dal-Dal. Yeah, she's pushy as hell, but that's a part of her charm. Kinda like Moon-Young's quirkiness and mood swings from laid back to Badass.

They're dropping Noblesse too. :blue:

:huh.:

I've always read it on Mangareader, so meh.

Unless the Mangacow is responsible for the scanlation as well.

Well mangareader certainly isn't.

I don't know specifically because I don't read either of those, but mangacow is the only translator for a lot of the stuff on their site.

Long story short is that Naver Webtoons has come out with official (and free) English translations of their works, and have essentially put the whole cease and desist routine on scanlators. Dunno how current everything is on the new site (I've only checked on Tower of God because that's the only Naver series I really follow closely, though I've heard that Kubera is way behind) but you should be able to find most webtoons here. Some of the official translations are still kinda dodgy due to this project having been done on something of a rushed schedule, but they're going back through and working to improve things.

Girls of the Wild updated to Chapter 148.

Lol Queen...
The first rule about Date Club is you don't talk about Date Club.

And I do hope the author isn't brazenly pawning Dal Dal off to another character to clear the path for Jaegu/Queen as that would be atrociously bad writing. Lee Moon Young never had any serious romantic aspirations for Jaegu, so her moving onto another wimpy character to mold was fine. Doing the same with Dal Dal, though, just comes off as a force move so you don't have to hurt anyone's feelings in the end, and that's pussying out on real character development.

Video game economics in the real world, serious business. On the other hand, what if Han Jae Han makes so much Won and spends it all that he causes hyperinflation?!

Realistically, Han Jae Han's money is probably going to be sunk into Black Auction, so I doubt it'll cause hyperinflation. Of course, that doesn't mean he couldn't cause deflation there if he were to start putting up even low level potions on Auction (and probably have a whole gaggle of royally pissed-off European wizards after his ass).
