Last chanpter, Eunju gets back to talking to Dongtae like normal, though she's still troubled by the dice, both those that still taunt her for not using the dice, and because all the other people in the chorus dropped out to become dicers themselves. And Taebin. The Dice Race quest gets announced during class, but Dongtae (and Taebin) are the only ones to not get it. And nearly everyone forsakes class to make it down to the field in order to get more dice.
Mio questions X about why Dongtae didn't get the same quest as everyone else, then goes after Taebin to get some intel, though he's certainly not willing to talk. Dongtae, however, figures out what the secret to getting quests and dice is -- desire. The more you desire, the more quests you get; the less you desire, the less quests you get. This triggers Taebin's memory about his life at his old school, from where he first met the guy that provided him dice, a white-haired guy named Mooyoung who waxes philosophic about the concept of desire, how it's never completely satisfied until it gets something much bigger to quench its hunger. And this eventually cuts to a scene where said Mooyoung goes around killing the other A ranking dicers with his Time Pause ability in his quest to get "the last dice." Taebin is the only survivor, but knows Mooyoung will eventually come for his life again, hence he's bound and determined to stop him once and for all, and wants no one's help, especially not from A Rankers, as they "can't become allies."
Meanwhile, everyone from the Dice Race get to participate in what is called the X Sports Festival, which is a fancy term for classmates to go all Battle Royale on each other. It's absolute carnage as fellow students turn on one another, beating the holy shit out of each other in order to get more dice. Eunju jumps in to save one of her friends who desperately wants out of this mess, only to almost get herself beaten up, too. Dongtae uses his Time Pause skill to rescue Eunju and her friend and sort out the mess that's going on, only to catch a glimpse of a white-haired blur within his Time Pause field.
