Not sure where to put this, but what are your opinions of the New 52 Superman's outfit compared to the original? It's similar, but with darker colors and gets rid of the Underwear of Power. Also, his signature "S" is a bit less curved and more angular. Superman's costume in the upcoming Man of Steel film looks like it will feature the New 52 outfit.
I like the old one better to be honest. It's slightly goofy and all, but it really fits with what Superman is supposed to be.
Yeah, but when Superman was initially designed it wasn't goofy, it was perfectly fitting to the times. The character isn't about being a dated relic.
Dated relic and goofy don't have to mean the same thing.
Trying to give Superman a new modern costume just falls flat on its face to me, because that's just not Superman.
Give him goofy pajamas and let him talk about truth, justice and the American Way while being perfectly serious about it, and that's more in-keeping with the spirit of the character.
He's not a dated relic, but a the same time he's not 'new'. He's kind of the superhero prototype. He can't be new.
@shinzero01: Less 'dated relic' more Incredibly Relevant Historical Figure that inspired superheroes and whose legacy lives on and all that stuff.
