Great plot twist?
Is that referring to the force ghost Peter?
-_- Riiiight.
I just find it funny how Ock really only acts like Peter after he's messed up big and really should've had his cover blown already.

Then again, I'm more interested in how Khaine would deal with this. What with him already having done the Edgy Spider-guy several times already.

...and why'd he put down the laser? Shouldn't that make him want to kill Slott more? Man, can't even hold onto fanboy rage.

Dude...you're missing the point of the joke entirely.

It's a comic mocking the fans who sent death threats to Dan Slott because of the events that happened in a bloody comic book (ASM #700).

I didn't miss the point. I ignored it in order to comment on the fan's lack of dedication to his cause.
He was dedicated enough to build a death ray but then drops it despite getting more bad news and having more of a reason to dislike the person he built it to kill.

One relatively good thing here (well, it's bad, but also good) is that Logan's abrasive behavior, even with his own team, is backfiring on him. I mean, even Kitty and Storm want to beat him up.

I doubt he'll take that as a lesson to be less abrasive, though: he's an X-Man.

So when does Spiderman get a big utility belt? Looks like everybody else has them now.

He's had one pretty much since he started the hero gig. Some of his outfits, it's plainly visible, but most of the time it's tucked under his shirt.

That's because Spock thinks Peter Parker is weak because he played by the rules all these years and didn't press his magnificent advantage to their utmost, carve himself out to be a god among men. Problem is, he ignores what made Spider-Man human and so well-received, even when Jameson was smearing his name through mud and tar. Having to charm his way out of the predicament with Rachel absolutely galls Spock, as he believes his superior intellect somehow exempts him from the rules of society.

What you said. And of all the people he's been working with for YEARS only Wolverine noticed? Bullcrap.

Let's be fair to the Marvel characters: They're bound by Plot to be idiots.

Ms. Marvel would attest to that.

Well...Iceman noticed something off too, but he mostly dismissed it as they were distracted by the giant rampaging Spider shooting eyebeams.

And to be fair, Wolverine's the one x-man who Spidey's spends the most time with during the past 8 years (they have that whole odd couple/buddy cop dynamic going on in the Avengers). So its not a stretch that he'd be the first to notice and call him out on it.

That and Spider-Man has been a loner type for most of his career.

Hell, his early dealings with other heroes involved him being an ass on multiple occasions (and stealing a kiss from Jean).

It's only in the last decade or so (so some number of months of actual comic time) that he has joined teams and all, and even then only people who can be said to really know him are Daredevil, Wolverine, the Fantastic Four (especially Johnny), and probably Ms. Marvel now.

The X-Men generally keep to themselves so it was a relatively save group.

Since you mentioned the Fantastic Four, I can't wait for Spock to go try and teach a class of the Future Foundation only for Valeria to absolutely school him if he does his high and mighty act.

Well, at least they didn't nerf Captain Universe.

On the other hand...WHY DIDN'T THEY?! I can't even fathom anybody short of Galactus-class being able to stop her.

I'm okay with it. Captain Universe's power varies depending on what the Uni-Power requires him/her to do (from the underwhelming one in Annihilation to the guy that almost killed Juggernaut); so there is a plot legitimate reason for his power to vary.

Do you remember when Spider-man was going to be the host of Captain Universe during Acts of Vengeance? And when he finally used his powers in the aftermath against the Tri-Sentniel (sp?)? Yeah, the powers vary.

Oh, and who would win - Superman or Captain Universe? You know, since both are only as powerful as they need to be.

Didn't Sentry tie against CU? And Sentry is basically Superman in disguise...

To be fair, Sentry seems to exist simply to be extremely overpowered and tie against other extremely overpowered people.

I will never understand why people compare the fucked up head case that is the Sentry to Superman as if one would ever be equal to the other.

Power is the very least of what makes Superman Superman.

Because Superman's utterly stupid power feats overshadow his (mostly) relatively poorly presented character.

Basically as long as DC presents him as the go to guy for anything and pretends there aren't guys that could kick his ass even in the Justice League... well, that's kind of going to stick more than the walk across America he doesn't finish.

For all the sheer stupidity of Sentry, he is at least supposed to be that way due to being horribly messed up.

There aren't guys who could kick his ass in the Justice League. Batfans gonna Batbitch, but as an elder Batfag, I say they're doing it wrong. Low-power Batman is Best Batman, and pretending that he stands a chance in hell against the Son of Krypton in anything approaching a non-Satanically Rigged fight is just stupid. If Superman wanted to win, or worse, wanted to kill Batman, he would, and there's nothing Batman could do about it.

The only person who stands a chance is Wally, or whoever is being Flash at the time. That's basically it. Flash and that's all.

Flash: Why fight Superman now when I can go back in time, kill him as a baby, defeat every villain he ever defeated, then return to this exact same spot as soon as I finish this sentence 20 seconds from now?

Plastic Man, too. Batman brought him in the JL specifically as a counter in case Supes goes evil. His powerset may look stupid, but he's actually severely broken, as his abilities far exceed Mr. Fantastic's or other plastic-type heroes.
