Tsuruko smiled as she followed Keitaro to where Kitsune was serving up the meal. ôAlthough, I think that we might have to discuss your characterisation of the older sister, Torikoàö
And with that Keitaro's bowels evacuated to the floor.

Despite the trepidation he felt, Keitaro sat down with Tsuruko in his room to discuss the story he had based upon Motoko.

ôNow then, Keitaro-san,ö the swordswoman said, trying to keep a calm faþade in place.

ôIÆm sorry, Tsuruko-san. I shouldnÆt have used my friends as inspiration for my stories,ö the artist said.

ôDespite the view of me that my sister has, I am not an unforgiving monster, Keitaro-san. I accept your apology,ö the swordswoman smiled as she handed over the copy of Miko-Miko Revolution.

Keitaro visibly relaxed.

It was then that Tsuruko added a caveat. ôI want you to write a story for me.ö

ôWhat?ö

ôI like your style, Keitaro-san.ö

Keitaro was taken aback. ôYou like my writing style?ö

ôAmongst other things, yes,ö the raven-haired woman nodded. ôI must confess that there are things about you that I find attractive.ö

ôWait, what? You do? How could I possibly be attractive to you, Tsuruko-san?ö the ronin asked in disbelief. ôI mean youÆre you: youÆre beautiful, youÆve got money, influence. What could you see in me?ö

ôYour humility, your sense of humour, donÆt think that I didnÆt pick up on that in your story, Keitaro-san,ö Tsuruko smiled. ôAnd I canÆt forget your kind nature. Despite what Motoko-han tried to pull, you were willing to help her.ö

ôWhat else was I suppose to do?ö

There was a knock on the door which interrupted TsurukoÆs answer.

ôCome in,ö Keitaro said.

ôHi there,ö Kitsune smiled. The smile froze when she saw that Tsuruko was sitting opposite Keitaro. ôAhàö

ôWhat can I do for you, Kitsune?ö

ôIà It can wait, itÆs not important,ö the short-haired girl said, not really wanting others to know that she was after a closer look at KeitaroÆs work.

Kitsune left as quickly as she arrived, leaving Tsuruko to realise that she needed to act quickly if she wanted to progress things with Keitaro.

She coughed to get KeitaroÆs attention. ôAbout that story, Keitaro-san.ö

ôWell, IÆd love to write you something, but I havenÆt had any good ideas lately, Tsuruko-san,ö the artist protested. ôAll the ones IÆve suggested to my publisher were rejected.ö

ôMaybe I can help you find some inspiration?ö

ôHow?ö

ôWell, youÆve already used my sister for the inspiration for one story, why canÆt I be the inspiration for another?ö

The ronin swallowed. ôW-what kind of thing did you have in mind?ö

Tsuruko reached out and touched KeitaroÆs hand. ôLetÆs have a look at your ideas and see what we can develop?ö

I do not really feel he owes an apology, at least not to her. And if she really felt as she does, I would have thought she would tell him so.

As for the story idea... that in some ways is kind of creepy... were I him, not sure how I would take it.

On the other hand, if they *did* become a couple, I could see something like this really spicing up the relationship.

Kitsune, feeling at a loose end, decided to visit her friend.

ôWhatÆs up now, Kitsune?ö Haruka Urashima asked, not looking up from her newspaper.

ôHow didà?ö

ôBecause somethingÆs bothering you about Keitaro,ö the smoker answered, still not giving the ash-blonde her full attention. ôOdds are that itÆs his job.ö

ôWell, it is, but itÆs not just that. Did you know that he was talking with Tsuruko-san in his room?ö Kitsune asked.

ôNo, but IÆm not shaken to my foundations.ö

ôWhy not?ö

ôBecause it became clear last night that Tsuruko-san likes Keitaro,ö Haruka explained, finally looking at Kitsune. ôThereÆs no need to look that shocked, Kitsune. Keitaro may not be an æalpha maleÆ compared to some of the men youÆve met, but he does have desirable qualities that they lack. Things like a sense of responsibility, a work ethic, creative talent.ö

ôOh, but, still,ö the short-haired girl shrugged.

ôBut nothing, Kitsune, if you had come to me sooner, you could have grown to see Keitaro in the same light that Tsuruko does. He wouldÆve sweat blood for you, you know?ö

Kitsune blinked. ôPerhaps I was a bit hasty?ö

ôPerhaps,ö the smoker said before reaching for her cup of coffee. ôBut it may be too late for you, Kitsune.ö

ôI donÆt hear the final bell, Haruka, so IÆm still in with a chance!ö

Haruka cast a critical look over her friend. Kitsune was cute, there was no denying that. And she did have a fine body; Keitaro would have enjoyed spending hours drawing it.

She was also fun. Some of the stories Kitsune told were hilarious. There was some doubt over their veracity, but they were almost always amusing.

But she was also somewhat immature; as she had showed with her inability to handle money. Sure, she had an adultÆs body and she was of the age of majority, but it took more than that to be an adult. A bit of responsibility wouldnÆt have gone amiss.

æOf course, Kitsune would have claimed that Keitaro was responsible enough for the two of them,Æ the smoker mused. ôOk, so youÆre still in with a chance. But youÆll have to convince Keitaro that you do have feelings for him, that youÆre not trying to use him. You donÆt have a lot of time to do that, if Tsuruko-san is spending time in his roomàö

Well... I knew you personally were not in London, though I cannot remember if you ever said exactly how far away. But I did not know if you had family or friends that might have been affected, and as such affect your postings.

In any case... as for the snippet... Was originally going to suggest a crossover between the miko-sister plot and the other story he made that would have both alter characters of Kitsune/Tsuruko involved in a single combined plot. Technically, it would create continued tension and competition between the two, and hopefully keep both sides honest and in check around Keitaro.

I had not suggested it before as was uncertain how you would actually go about pulling it off. Or whom would win, or if it fit with any preset plot direction you had.

Tsuruko looked over the ideas that Keitaro had outlined. They werenÆt bad by any means, but they seemed to lack something.

It took a while, but the swordswoman eventually worked out what was wrong.

ôIÆm sorry to say this, Keitaro-san, but all these ideas seem ratherà generic. ThereÆs nothing bad about any of them, but I canÆt help but feel that they could be used for almost anyone,ö she explained. Tsuruko could see that Keitaro was looking rather despondent at her assessment. ôI found Miko-Miko Revolution interesting because of the characters.ö

ôOh, but IÆm not sure that I can use any of the æMiko-MikoÆ characters in these ideas,ö the artist replied. ôIt feels a bit forced, if you know what I mean.ö

Tsuruko nodded. æNow would be a good time to put yourself forward, Tsuruko.Æ

The swordswoman coughed to get KeitaroÆs attention. ôErr, Keitaro-san, I may have another option for you.ö

ôYou do?ö

ôYes,ö Tsuruko nodded. She swallowed nervously. ôIà I could be the inspiration for your story. I might not have had the experiences of some women, but I would like to think that I could help you develop a story.ö

ôA-are you sure about this? I mean, it would mean talking aboutà you knowàö Keitaro trailed off. ôI mean, youÆre a beautiful woman, but IÆm not sure that IÆm the sort of person you would talk to about this sort of thing.ö

ôI was never really able to talk to anyone about this sort of thing,ö the widow explained. ôIn our family, such things were always considered taboo.ö

ôTaboo?ö the ronin repeated. ôBut saying that, it makes sense, I mean, how do you start a conversation about sex? ItÆs not really something that people want to talk about with family members. Somehow I doubt that you and Motoko-chan asked about your parentsÆ wedding night.ö

ôQuite true, Keitaro-san, quite true.ö

There was a silence as Keitaro looked at some of the notes heÆd written down. They were mainly scenarios and the occasional plot outline.

ôWait, a tabooà?ö he asked rhetorically. ôI just need a character and a taboo to break and I might have an idea I can use.ö

ôI-I donÆt mind being the basis for your character, Keitaro-san,ö Tsuruko said, her cheeks turning pink. ôA lonely widow has finished mourning. SheÆs still got most of her life ahead of her, but none of the single men in her town show any interest in her: sheÆs not only a æChristmas CakeÆ, but sheÆs considered æused goodsÆ.ö

There was a momentÆs silence as it became clear that the swordswomanÆs words were spoken with the voice of experience.

ôBut then,ö she followed up, ôShe encounters a man through family business. This man, despite being more age appropriate for her sister, intrigues the widow. ThereÆs something about him that sets him apart from other men, not that the younger sister sees that.ö

Keitaro nodded as he scribbled down the idea Tsuruko had outlined. ôAnd then what?ö

ôS-she realises that if she abides by the established etiquette, sheÆll be alone for a long time. T-thatÆs when she decides to make a move on this younger man.ö

ôYes, thatÆs good, but a woman asking out a man is hardly the taboo that IÆm looking for,ö the artist said as he continued to jot down the idea. ôWhat if she became obsessed with him? Not like a stalker who just takes photos of him and has a shrine, but she takes serious steps to be near him?ö

ôYes, she moves into his apartment block,ö Tsuruko nodded. ôThere could be a few accidents, where she walks in on him when heÆs changing and she likes what she sees.ö

ôBut there needs to be a spanner in the works,ö Keitaro said absently. ôIt canÆt be all plain sailing, or the reader wonÆt connect emotionally.ö

ôShe could feel that the young man is vulnerable?ö the raven-haired woman suggested. ôHeÆs an heir to something valuable or important, and she feels protective? That way, there can be gold-digging rivals and concerned relatives?ö

ôThat might just work,ö the ronin said as he finished writing down the outline. ôWait, this looks familiar, the only thing missing is-ö

KeitaroÆs words were cut off by Tsuruko kissing him on the mouth.

Too bad you can almost feel Keitaro messing this up somehow. Either backing away because he doesn't think he's "worthy" of Tsuruko or because he doesn't want to hurt Motoko. Or, perhaps Kitsune will show up with a timely cock-block. Anything else would end up in the lemon forum where we could all enjoy it so much more.

And NOW the two stories have officially fully blended into one. At first, it was skipping inbetween the two, with a small prologue of Art before following the path of the pennyless Kitsune, which then after some time twisted back to art. Now, they are more unified.

To say that Keitaro was surprised by TsurukoÆs actions would be putting it mildly.

ôT-Tsuruko-san?ö

ôI-IÆm sorry, Keitaro-san, but I couldnÆt help myself,ö the widow apologised as she climbed off the surprised young man. ôIà this character, sheÆsàö

ôHow much of you is she based on?ö Keitaro asked. The past weekÆs events were making him unsure if this was another case of a woman trying to manipulate him.

ôI havenÆt had any interest from anyone I could consider a suitor, Keitaro-san. While I know IÆve attracted the attention of one or two students at the Shinmeiryu dojo, I donÆt need the lustful attentions of hormonal teenage boys, I need the companionship of a good man,ö Tsuruko explained. ôI want you to be that good man.ö

ôButàö

ôPlease donÆt reject me, Keitaro.ö

ôIÆm not rejecting you, Tsuruko-san. I just donÆt want you to make a mistake. Besides, how can I measure up to your standards?ö Keitaro asked. ôWhat can I offer you as a husband?ö

ôWhy wonÆt you trust my judgement?ö the swordswoman asked. ôAre you afraid of letting me down?ö

ôYesàö the ronin answered in a quiet voice.

ôBut donÆt you see that not trying would let me down more?ö

Keitaro was at a loss for words. He knew Tsuruko was right, but he still couldnÆt understand why she would want him of all people. Perhaps it was better to try and fail rather than not know one way or the other?

æLook on the bright side, Keitaro, sleeping with Tsuruko would hardly be a chore, now would it?Æ the ronin asked himself. He smiled at that thought. ôOk, I will do what I can to be the man you think I am, Tsuruko-san. Just be patient with me, IÆm new at this.ö

ôI will be, Keitaro-san, I will be.ö

Now my questions are:
will Tsuruko try to pull off the Maid bit Motoko did (only more successfully)?
Also... now that 2 ladies are actively trying to be Kei's waifu... will the Hina girls officially consider this a threat?

Keep up the good work Raa

Your post is not clear.
How could you abandon your best character just when you are about to take this to the lemon section.
And I am praying for p0rn to be written.
Tsuruko 3 with a run at home plate in the offering,
Kitsune 0 Stalled at the start line.
Still can't wait for the girls to return home
I am very happy to see movement on this again.

Your post is not clear.
I don't know how many TFFers, LH fans, and generic anime fans I speak for with this, but I will try.

Boy meets girl, girl hits boy over and over, boy and girl settle into comically abusive relationship... This is a standard formula in anime, and it's funny if a bit stale. But when you see yourself in the boy being beaten, its not so funny anymore. Most of us realize that Keitaro's relationship with Naru in canon is not something most of us would want to go through (we aren't invincible, and it wouldn't be fun anyway, even to tap that). Naru is a beautiful girl that most of us would want to take to bed, but her personality leaves something to be desired in much the same manner as Akane Tendo. Seeing Keitaro together with Tsuruko is somewhat similar to Ranma/Kasumi, and for many of us who would like to see the protagonist finally happy it's something of a dream; we want to see him happy because of the connection between ourselves and him, and we hope one day to find a woman like Tsuruko. We want to believe that happiness and love are possible even to us.

So I beg you, please continue this. Continue this for the dreams of all TFFers! If the hapless Keitaro can be happy, maybe we can too!

With it seeming Keitaro & Tsuruko getting hot and heavy and her offering to assist in his work, and promising not to hit him I can't see it happening.
Remember Tsuruko is feeling the hands of time in regards to being a Christmas cake, She doesn't want to let this slip by.
Hopefully the only abusing is in the bedroom, due to dehydration.

Kitsune knocked on the door to KeitaroÆs room.

ôCome in,ö a female voice said.

æWait, is Tsuruko-san in there with Keitaro?Æ the ash-blonde asked herself as she opened the door.

ôHello, Mitsune-san, is there something we can do for you?ö Tsuruko asked as she looked up from the pages of the note pad she was using.

ôIàis everything ok? I hadnÆt heard from you for a while.ö

ôEverything is fine, Kitsune,ö Keitaro smiled as he stretched his arms above his head. ôIÆve got a good premise for a new idea.ö

ôLet me guess, demon-hunting shrine maidens and dashing ronin?ö Kitsune teased with a smirk.

ôNot quite,ö Tsuruko corrected. ôWe canÆt show you anything yet, but weÆll let you take a look at it when itÆs ready.ö

ôHow very suspiciousàö the short-haired woman said in a sceptical tone. ôHow can I be sure that Keitaro isnÆt using us as inspiration for his work? I should have a share of the royalties for Freeter Deluxe!ö

Keitaro swallowed nervously. Kitsune did have a point; he should compensate her for using her as the basis of the character Megumi Kanno; however, she did owe him over three months of rent.

Not that he could mention it without embarrassing everyone involved.

ôAnd just how much of a share in the royalties do you think youÆre entitled to, Mitsune-san?ö Tsuruko asked, momentarily saving KeitaroÆs blushes. ôOf course, some might think that accepting such a payment would suggest that you are just like this æMegumi KannoÆ character.

ôI would like to think that youÆre not the sort of person who answers the door in a skimpy towel to avoid paying for food deliveries.ö

Now it was KitsuneÆs turn to feel the heat. SheÆd always made sure that her flirting with men had never gone too far and there were limits to how far she was willing to go to put off paying the rent in favour of going out for a few drinks.

The loss of her job was just too much for her to take in after Keitaro had been rather ruthless with his collection of the rent.

ôThatÆs not fair, what about Miko-Miko Revolution? ArenÆt you in the same boat?ö

ôThatÆs certainly one way of looking at it,ö the widow acknowledged. ôBut I do not feel that the Shinmeiryu School has been defamed by a work of fiction.ö

ôWhy not?ö

ôBecause Miko-Miko Revolution is clearly a work of fiction,ö Tsuruko replied. ôYes, it is set in a real part of Japan, and yes, some of the names are eerily similar. But would you really think that itÆs based upon a famous school of sword fighting?ö

ôIà well, no, not now you put it that way,ö Kitsune said, backing down from her apparent demands for money from Keitaro.

ôThen I think the matter is settled. Keitaro-san, I think weÆre done with the script for the first chapter.ö

ôYeah, I think we should take a break,ö Keitaro said, letting out a yawn. ôLetÆs get something to eat before I decide if I should start drawing or continue writing.ö
