Quoting myself from an old discussion on this forum on this topic
EDIT: did not change anything, merely made it clear was quoting myself.
Manga canon continuity...
- He goes to the dorm (thinking it a hotel)...
- Cue mix up w/girls and them telling him it had not been a hotel in ages
- Haruka notes Granny left a whole year ago and only communicates by faxes occasionally.
- Cue them kicking him out upon finding out he lied
- Naru tracks him down, then Haruka shows...
- Haruka *has* a multiple page fax printout from Granny (note she did not state talked to her)... (pg 79, vol. I US. Edition), it is upside down, but 1st page clearly can be read...
Real Estate Deed of Ownership
Land and Building
Name Hotel Hinata House
Location 1 Hinata St., Hinata City, Kanagawa Prefecture
Buildings: Main Building - North Wood, Mortar, Tile Construction 4 stories, Main Building - South Wood, Mortar, Tile Construction 3 stories
Haruka notes that it is all *legal*, and Granny is giving it all to him, even shows him the letter:
Letter: From Grandma to Keitaro: I Hinata Urashima, give to my grandson Keitaro Urashima, the real estate in my possession Hinata House, and the land it stands on, August 105th, 1998, Hinata Urashima.
Anime canon continuity...
- parents noted could not support him forever and he stated would get a part time job
- granny called his parents *from Hinata apartments*, stating she wanted him to go to the Hinata to visit her
- granny *did* state to girls she was going on vacation... but when asked what they would do she stated *don't worry I've got it all figured out*
- granny merely states to Haruka that *you girls will be fine*
- Naru knows he is a loser right off in this continuity, though does not immediately make the connection, smacks him down the hall...
- Shinobu not yet a resident
- cue bathroom scene,
- Haruka was expecting him in this one (potentially making her at least partially in on it) and Haruka allowed him to stay one night and talk in the morning. Her hitting him as he started to explain also implies she was deliberately lying to the tenants to build him up in their eyes. Even telling him they would not take the truth well. And notes *we* need him there to manage the apartments *or they might end up losing the building*...
