Critic reviews: Sailor Moon

Just to kill time.

Edit: And just to note....him showing a picture of real 14 year old girls just made me think the phrase "I'm going to hell for the fanfiction I've written for this series" over and over again.

My biggest hope is that the relaunch will bring some fresh wind into the dusty genre that is the fukufic.

Now if only they'd do a Ranma 1/2 relaunch... or at least animate the unfinished Story lines.

Ugh, fukufics. Rotten bastions of all the worst fanon two of the oldest internet fandoms ever produced. We're better off without them.

Apparently some sites were saying November 2013 to January 2014, but unless we get a surprise release before the end of this month, I think it's safe to say that's another delay.

Hmm... despite the amount of needling and irritating jokes I sure to get from my sister, I'm actually really looking forwards to this.

You'd think they'd be eager to push this out the door, given how much $$$ a new Sailor Moon anime would apparently generate.

Also confirmation that this will be adapting the manga.
The original also 'adapted' the manga. I'm more interested in this actually being a lot more faithful (as long as they change Artemis' stupid human-form shirt).

Ehhh... unsure about the art direction. Looks more ... classic Gundam-esque than what I would expect. Was hoping it would be more... shojou-tastic. I am Glad with a capital G it isn't in the generic moe style of the past half decade though.

I am more worried about how it looks. the way some of these resurrected and redone anime are is making me worried. I am told that it will follow the manga more, which is more darker than the anime we grew up with.

Also if america dubs it the voice actors will have to be decent, since several anime's I have seen dubbed in the last couple of years had lousy voice acting.

I think many of us are holding are breath on this and hoping for a excellent anime to match at minimum the previous anime and the manga if not exceed it.

As long as they do their best to make a faithful English dub, one that stays as close as possible to the original Japanese, I'm okay with it. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the English VA's that worked on Black Lagoon and Fullmetal Alchemist work on BSSMC.

I am referring to fear of dubs that are like infinite stratos and madoka which I think didn't work out as well as it could have been. On the other hand if it is dubbed it will eventually be released for buy in the US

That would depend upon plot and content. Depending on those it will not be released to American retailers even if it is dubbed.

So two months and a bit for the first episode, then. Any clue if Crunchyroll or someone else will be picking it up right away, or will we have to rely on a fansubbing team?

I should point out the info also gave us the release schedule of the episodes, 2 a month, on the first and third Saturdays of the month, if that doesn't give any one warning bells nothing will.

For fansubs...

They're not putting it on a tv slot, the episodes are going up on Nicovideo and the only fansubbing group willing to work with Nicovideo are TV-Nihon.

So prepare for a fuckton of O-Baka-Chan-Tachi.

I thought Fate/Zero used in house translators for there simulcats for NicoNico. Granted from what I've seen they needed a major edit. So I'm assuming Toei themselves are doing the subs for Crystal, granted with There track record with Harlock, GE999 and there Digimon Subs that also worries me
