What (anime) are you watching?

This isn't technically anime but I'm going to be spending tomorrow afternoon after my exam watching the Saikano and Death Note live action movies on Youtube. They've been subbed so... YEAH!! :yay:

Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu is weird in a lot of ways. The evil magical girl basically shows Hale to appreciate his life more, though she mostly makes him freak out alot. There's one very odd scene involving a Moon Bear, a type of bear with a cresent moon patch under its chin from Indonesia where Guu stops looking like a tiny girl. I'm still working out the significance of that. Mostly, she makes a lot of sarcastic and piercing statements, poking fun at people who lie to be polite, basically. And she eats people temporarily. Since she's got a magical world in her stomach being eaten by her is weird, not dangerous. I did say she's a magical girl. Also, she's nice to people the first time she meets them and sly from that point forward.

Code Geass: Mecha Anime made by Clamp and Sunrise. Probably my favorite Mecha of all time at the moment.
Tokimeki Memorial Heartful Days: Based of a ren'ai game. Very funny, and Tsukasa rocks.
Inukami: It takes a special kind of humor and pervertedness as well as tolerance to watch this show, but when you love it you love it. Same said when you hate it.
D.Gray Man: Interesting, if a bit hard to describe. Good balance in their execution, good voice acting, and I like the characters.
Busou Renkin: Probably the funniest show next to Tokimeki. I prefer to see it as a comedy anime with a lot of fighting thrown in.

There's also a lot I'm catching up on, but those are the ones coming out regularly that I see from week to week.

Recently watched all of Haibane Renmei. Interesting, if somewhat... unfulfilling. :/ I suppose that it would have been sort of unnecessary to continue on from that point, but I felt somewhat gypped that things were simply left on faith, instead of getting any sort of explanation.

Also watched all the first two seasons of House, but that's not anime so never mind.

Well I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean 2... oops! That isn't anime. :unsure!:

Saw parts of an Inuyasha movie (number 4?) when the above movie ending but... didn't stick around. While I will admit the Inuyasha movies I have seen aren't bad (quite entertaining if you're a semi-Inuyasha fan), given how 'late' it is (work in the morning. :headbanger: ) didn't have time to sit and watch it either. Besides, like 90% of the series, it was filler anyways. :snigger:

Rewatching parts of "Return of the Condor Heroes" (The serial version, not the crappy animated version). Stupid production saw my DVD version missing episode 46... <_<

As for anime, none at the moment. Tsubasa Reservoir just ended on my TV, but I am not a fan of the series, so I didn't catch it.

Started getting into FSN. Seen up to episode 16 so far.

Also started keeping track of the latest Rozen Maiden release. Seems to be a side story which occurs during Traumend and it links back to the past when the Rozen Maidens were active during another time era.

The old Suigintou in the past era was quite emotionally broken from being abandoned by Father. It was interesting seeing her this way and future episodes will probably show how she developed an intense hatred of Shinku.

On a side note, it's unfortunate that we won't be seeing glimpses of Kirakishou (the true 7th Rozen Maiden doll) but who knows?

Rozen Maiden Ouverture is out? Man, gotta get it!

I'm still at the beginning of Higurashi no naku. I'm still halfway through Stellvia (it's long, real long), and I've only just finished season 1 of FMA. I have a heap of other titles to watch, such as kanon (F1, is it really that sad?), IGPX (cool CG!), the new AMG and many more...it's going to be a busy new year....

Recently picked up the R1 DVD of Fate/stay night (or rather, I got it as a gift on Christmas).

I watched it dubbed.

...

-_-

Bleh. I didn't have much hope for it, honestly, but there WAS a lot of potential there (I was being way too optimistic when I hoped that they actually got voice actors with the proper accents, I mean, Saber with a British accent, Lancer with an Irish one, and other miscellaneous-ness, how cool would that be?), but no. Saber, Rin, Sakura, Shirou and Ilya all suck. Rin sounds like a rich brat (which she IS, but she isn't supposed to sound it), and Saber and Sakura are just... Blarg. Shirou fits okay I suppose, but his voice grates at times (not as bad as Sakura though). Ilya's so-so, but whoever did her acting shouldn't force it, cause damn if it doesn't sound squeaky (then again, I've ALWAYS thought English voices trying to sound like children have sounded god awful). Taiga is okay, not great, but I don't really have any complaints. Archer and Lancer I also have no complaints about. Neither of them sounds as cool as they do in Japanese, but they might be able to get into it. Kotomine is actually the BEST of them, his voice seems to fit extremely well.

Anyway, crap, it sucks.

Yes, KyoAni does it damn well, even though you're able to guess the result well over two episodes ahead of time.

Or perhaps I'm just a sap.

Props for Mushishi. Its very pretty, episodic semi-ghost stories in an indeterminate time in Japan's past. They're creepy but good.

Just finished watching Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu. Funny cute, and Guu is both mean and effective. We really should have more fanfiction for Hale and Guu.

Yeah, Mushishi is awesome. While I've only seen the first few episodes of it before getting stalled with other things, (and still haven't gotten back to it ^^;; ) the visuals and music dazzled me. The story itself is very good, but the staff of it certainly get mad props for such excellent work.

Oh, and another gripe with the F/sn dub that I forgot. It's minor, but still annoying, they translated Ilya's last name as Einzvern instead of Einzbern. It's understandable, I suppose, but damnit if it wasn't annoying.

Oh, and recently, I re-watch Fumoffu. It's official, I am a KyoAni fanperson. While I haven't seen the Second Raid yet, :)() I have no doubt it's just as good in terms of quality animation. I'm in awe that they've yet to NOT produce a utterly brilliant piece every since they started doing sole productions.

The Second Raid is on YouTube if you wanna watch it. And I think the first disc is out also. It is very pretty.

Huh, I would have figured that it'd been removed by this point. Thanks for the heads up.

And yes, I'm planning on getting the Second Raid, soon. I might want to wait until it gets released in a thinpack set, though.

Its pretty, but the story level is about the same as the giant red robot-mecha arc. I'm hoping whatever they do after this leaves more of an impression.

Hmm, pity, but still, PRETTY! ^^

I'm looking forward to KyoAni's next project, an anime production of Lucky?Star, from the bit I've looked at it, it may be similar to Azumanga in terms of direction.

Oh, yes, and recently, I watched Black Lagoon episode twenty-three.

Yay, Rock gets his head on straight, finally.

Well, finished Black Lagoon... raw at least (have to find the time to watch the final two episodes fansubbed eventually. ). And... good ending. Though it was one of those 'open' endings. I.e. while it felt like a 'real' ending (the way the ending credits were like etc.), it also could continue to a "Third Barrage" if they wanted to. Kind of hoping for the latter.

Oh yeah, and I've seen the Fate/Stay Night DVDs at my store. Hearing F1's experience with it... sigh. Well, at least you can say you can buy it legally. -_-

They've actually exhausted most of the material of Black Lagoon out currently. Despite how long the arc took, Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise was sixteen chapters (and almost two entire volumes) long, so it was fairly 'short' in comparison. I believe that there's only one other arc out in the manga (and an average length one, wouldn't be more then two or three episodes if they animated it), so they CAN'T do anymore currently, unless they did 'filler'. <_<

Ah. I was afraid of that. -_- Though if they want to animate that last arc, they would probably go with the GitS: SAC route. Two seasons, and a movie at the end.

I'm still on the more mainstream things.

Naruto, Hellsing, Love Hina, Magister Magi Negima (Actually am watching this one currently), Hikaru no Go, and others.

I finished Neon Genesis Evangelion, Trigun, and a few others which at this moment I can't place.

I'm actually looking for Ranma 1/2, and a few others at the moment!

Hmmm... I thought GB S2 to be inferior to the first season.

That's because it was. ^^;; :p

Hmm, let's see... Recently watched: "Kanon '06" episodes 12 and 13, "Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru" episodes 8, 9 and 10, and the entire season of "Stellvia of the Universe."

Kanon was wonderful as usual. Koishiteru was... okay, as usual. Nothing really sprung out from them, however, although I'm hoping Mai arc isn't as sad as Makoto's (not freaking likely, knowing Key).

Stellvia was highly enjoyable, and far from what I expected (although, most of my expectations were bizarre anyway, coming from the pictures I'd seen of the show on the Internet. Poor Shipon has to be just as abused as Saber in terms of her appetite being exaggerated). The ending, however, was rather... lackluster. Nothing bad about it, but I found it wanting, considering not too much got resolved between Kouta and Shima.

Which brings me to an odd realization, I actually liked the canon relationship of Kouta and Shima. That's quite rare for me, since I'm usually completely off from the direction the show's take, especially if the main character is female (I tend to empathize more with the main hero/ine, and rarely do I find any of the male characters deserving of her).

Strange, but not bad.

RIght in the middle of Bleach. All I have to say is, while the anime rocks; it has some of the worst opening songs I've ever heard.
