New series of Top Gear started.

They have a new reasonably priced car.

I am thinking about watching the Game of Thrones but do I have to read the book series first or can I jump straight into the TV series without being completely lost?
The TV is an adaptation of the books. It's reasonably faithful, but there were always going to have to be changes in order to put it on TV.

As I'm sure you're aware, they're lengthy books, so it kind of matters how much you can be bothered to read.

Each series adapts one book, but season three only covers the first half of book 3.

I say give the first season a go, if you like it lots, read the books. If you're indifferent, just watch the TV.

Though you're going to have to wait for a year for the next episodes.

Watching some Kung Fu the legend continues... I remember it being better... but I supposed it was the 90's and I was younger... *sigh*

Thinking about trying the Southland tv series.

Watched the Burn Notice series finale. It was a good way to tie everything together and end the series. Although it was weird seeing Michael killing people so easily when he would go out of his way to stop Fiona form doing the same in the first couple of seasons. I mean, you understood he had coldly executed people for the CIA before he was burned but the first seasons were careful to tone down that level of violence. Sorry to see a good show end, but it was better than letting it get too stagnant without any kind of real story to follow. A-team did that and look where it got them.

So, I started to watch Under the dome and Siberia:

-UtD is shit. It's in the same vein as Heroes and Lost, where the starting idea may be interesting but then dissolves in countless different plots each others least interresting than the last (or the ones runing at the same time).

-Siberia is fun, in a 'it's the same vein as Heroes and Lost' kind of way because they seem to embrass it and run wild with it.

Siberia is a decent time-waster if you have nothing else to do or want to go to sleep, Under the dome should be avoided at all cost.

Still watching Supernatural, though as I watch some of the older seasons I wonder what else they can do to keep the show fresh. Maybe if they do tie things off with just the 10th season it'll work, but we'll see.

Also got into Arrow. I never really got into Green Arrow (or Batman), but the show is great. I have to say I never got into Smallville until Clark moved to Metropolis, but Arrow is entertaining.

Oh, and of course football is back on TV so even though I'm not playing in any Fantasy Football leagues this year football is always entertaining.

LOL Supernatural has been a zombie since the story ended back in 2009-2010. They've been milking it ever since.

Agents of Shield looks pretty interesting. Might be the only new show I follow other than that teen drama about french aristocrats premiering on the CW.

Huh, now that I look at it, ABC has sneakily built up pretty good shows that I haven't been watching. In the meanwhile, NBC has been sucking for a while.

Seems I forgot all about watching Psych. I'm a season behind now.

Also it is nice to see that the CW is shifting back to more diverse programming. It harkens back to the UPN days when the shows were more than just faux-angst fests.

Well I just watched Agents of Shield and I honestly have to say I wasn't too crazy about it. I'd give it a 7/10 maybe 7.5 because I love that car.

AoS has that old school charm. Not sure if it will last for a long time but I can see that it has potential for a few seasons before crapping out.

More 8/10 for me.

I thought it would be more along the lines of a Marvel version of James Bond or Mission Impossible, while it seems like it will be closer to Fringe, or possibly X-Files.

We'll see how they pull it off.

It's entertaining, and given that there's nothing out there right now that does what it does, well, there's obviously room for it. I can see it going for a few seasons and depending on how they tie things in with the other Disney/Marvel movies there's plenty of potential for it to explore the world and give it more depth.

AoS continues with the old school spy stuff. Quirkiness works for the show, Fitz-Simmons really brings something that would otherwise be missing.

Watched Glee's goodbye episode. I have to say, I haven't cared much for the show since Finn and the others graduated, and the replacements can't match the originals.

I admit, I did tear up several times during the memorial show.

I wish I could get more time on Mondays to watch Sleepy Hallow. Just catching it on the Fox App, but it looks great.

Sleepy Hallow isn't bad. I can't say that it is amazing but it isn't bad.

I've spent the last week catching up on True Detective.

It's a slow burner, to be sure, but the performances from Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey are great.

Just finished the first 2 episodes of "Babylon 5". A really old show, but I find the plot good. Didn't really understand the different races and the interactions as a "background", but the show did a really good job of filling me in.

Game of thrones, Season 4 episode 1

Spoilers.

Cersei seems determined to ruin her standing with the last person in the world who cared about her as a person. Tyrion's relationship with his woman is in a downward spiral and Cersei is likely aware of this. Jaime, has not received the welcome he was hoping for and that plus his character development should lead to an interesting place.

Jon....I know you liked this wildling girl but....hell hath seen no fury as a woman scorned.

Favorite scene: Arya Stark riding off with the pony she wanted.....after running a man through with her blade.
