Evangelion Evangelion Time Loop

The sound of automatic fire being unleashed as well as the sound of metal and wood connecting with flesh and bone filled the air like a muderous symphony of blood.

Shinji Ikari was staring in disbelief from his safe hiding place as the Los Angeles gang christening themselves Street Thunder attacked the town of Gatlin, Nebraska in the US, having sworn the dreaded Cholo blood oath against the town's murderous children and adolescents who were responsible for the disapperances of many of their band who had through some hellish jest ventured from Los Angeles to this godforsaken place.

One gang member coolly trained a Mauser C96 with a suppressor attached to it and picked off charging young residents of Gaitlin one by one.

He wondered if these relentless people could stand up to the thing in the cornfield that the Gaitlin degenerates worshipped as a god or if they were simply going to put its lair to the torch and see if it could burn like all things who took on Earthly form and flesh from whatever sinister abyss they crawled out of.

Shinji didn't suffer from any pangs of conscience over having sacrificed his father to these people in this loop in order to ensure his own personal survival; neither did he regret having Asuka clean the sickle given him with her neck when a sudden bloodlust erupted within and his vision turned redder than her beautiful hair. When that faded Asuka had lost her head and that his sickle needed cleaning.

He did regret that he taken had Misato-san's life when they bound and mutilated her as sacrifice.

Now if only he could slither out of this hell on Earth before the Reiquarium converted to the children's cause found him or that any of the Street Thunder members caught sight of him.

If you're confused the Shinji's stuck in a messed up loop that's crossovered with Stephen King's Children of the Corn and John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13.

BTW: Shinji killed Asuka in a similar way that Nikolai Belinski from Call of Duty: World at War killed one of his wives.

Well... after listening to the theme music of Assault on Precinct 13 and remembering Street Thunder and afterwards watching the trailer for the film adaptation of Children of the Corn, I thought: wouldn't it be interesting to see such different antagonists fight each other while a spectator beheld it all, with Street Thunder being the more Earthly of the two evils while the Gaitlin cult represent the supernatural evil.

Shinji's normal instabilities got worse in this loop after being forced to join the cult in their activities.

Because <s>it's his fetish</s> it seemed like a good idea at the time?

"Hey Ayanami?"

"Yes, Ikari-kun?"

Shinji looks down at his solid blue top, clingy black undershirt and too-short skirt. "Awakening in crack-stories really sucks, doesn't it?"

Rei shrugs, pulling her green dancer's vest tighter around her shoulders and over her vaguely pubescent breasts. "Not particularly, no. It might if one's gender had been switched, but that's happened to you so many times it shouldn't be a bother."

He grits his teeth; he's been about five minutes without some sort of alcohol in his system, and that's six minutes too long. "Nah, that's not the problem; it's just karma giving me a pussy for being one." He pulls down his skirt, the slightest breeze flashing more panty than is legal in most states. "My problems are that-"

"Girls! A romantic rape-beast has just appeared downtown!" Professor Ikari says, bursting into the trio's bedroom. "You've got to stop him!"

Shinji squints as a red blur shoots out from under the covers; red unitard revealing, red hair fluttering, two red hair clips flanking a bright red bow.

"We're on it, Professor!" the not-quite-Awake Asuka trumpets.

Shinji just groans, "And that."

Shinji made a happy sigh as he raised his bare arm out of the bedsheet covering him and his lover. He then gently stroked her cheek. She just stirred a bit, still maintaining a small smile on her lips while snoring softly.

He always preferred these loops where his blue-eyed, red-haired Asuka Sohryu Langley was more stable than usual and more affectionate in the end even if she still had a few thorns here and there.

Being stuck in these Kohakutei Sakai-Hamachi doujin loops certainly wasn't a bad thing.

Got this idea after listening to the song the Man with the Golden Gun...

--

The massive behemoth christened Sachiel, the Third Angel fell again in this loop.

Towering over was another behemoth, purple with one horn decorating its armoured head, holding something resembling a small pistol, a strange contraption completely golden.

"That will be one million dollars, father," the teenage pilot stated through the comm-screen with the cold professionalism of a hired killer.

In the bridge of Geofront, commander Gendo Ikari had an annoyed look on his face and nodded to his vice-commander to hand over the suitcase with the determined sum to the midget who had accompanied his son to Tokyo 3 and even to the inside of Geofront.

He regretted having son tutored by Francisco Scaramanga in the art of assassination in order to turn him into an efficient killing machine.

How in the world did he get the means to manufacture an Evangelion-sized duplicate of the Golden Gun?

That's what Scaramanga charged per hit in the movie. Of course, the only thing the movie had in common with the original story was the characters of Scaramanga and Goodnight. Even the gun was different between the two versions.

It could be worse for NERV. Golgo 13 charges 5 million per assignment.

ôSo, which one of them is the Third Child?ö asked growled, looking about the assembled people on the deck of the Over the Rainbow

ôOh!ö chirped Misato, ôheÆs rightà WhereÆd Shinji go?ö she asked, looking about.

<hr>

WHAM!

The assembled crew in the main hanger looked over to the source of the sound, spotting a smiling teen à holding a wad of money on a metal table top.

ôI got five hundred dollars, US, stating I can take any man here, no holds barred.ö

<hr>

The Captain and the members of NERVùand friendsùran towards the main hanger deck, having heard about a massive brawl breaking out.

Thus they could be understandably shocked as they slammed open the hatch, finding multiple groaning figures on the floor.

ôTen bucks?ö they heard. ôWhy the hell would a Seal have that little cash on him?ö

Looking, they spotted the one standing figure in the center of it all. The Third Child, shirt missing, pants torn, one shoe gone, a slightly swollen right eye, bloody nose, and sporting dozens of bruises, was now tossing an empty wallet on one of the fallen bodies. ôAsshole; if you didnÆt have the cash, you shouldnÆt have joined the game.ö

Kicking the man once again as he moaned, Shinji moved on to the next downed figure.

ôWhat in hell is going on here!?ö bellowed the Captain.

Looking up, Shinji just shruggedùwincing a bit as injuries made themselves know. ôOffered a bet for a friendly spar, they lost, and it seems most of them canÆt pay up.ö

He shook his head sadly. ôGreat, now I gotta hire a collection agent to get the rest. YouÆd think some battle-hardened soldiers would have more than pocket change on them!ö

ôWh-where would we spend it?ö one asked, coughing heavily.

ôYou are about to have a shore leave in Tokyo-2, remember?ö Shinji asked.

ôWhat the fuck do you think youÆre doing, Shinji?ö yelled Misato.

ôà Beer money?ö he asked, holding up the gathered wad of cash.

ôà How much beer money?ö Misato asked.

ôWHAT?ö yelled the Captain, hating NERV now more than ever.

I have to wonder, was it the captain that was meant to be mentioned as saying that, or the Admiral... makes a big difference on how you interpret it.

I believe it was an admiral, since the carrier was the flagship of the fleet.

Yes... The admiral was in the chair... the captain was a younger guy behind him.

Badass Shinji against a group of soldiers of the ONU army. Very good one Innortal.
:yay:

Idea: How about Shinji in loops replacing main characters of anothers gainax series like FLCL, Abenobashi or Gurren Lagan. A more crazy one is shinji replacing Ganterbeld and dealing with the antics of Panty and Stocking, after all he deals with angels.

Or perhaps even better (for comedy purposes, anyway; I make no guarantees about long-term storytelling possibilities) would be Shinji acting like a a Gurren Lagann character. Kamina, naturally. Although Leeron might be funny if you could do it (which I won't even attempt).

"Yours is the AT field that will pierce the heavens!"

"You! Shamshel! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!"

"Kick that Angel to the curb and go beyond the impossible, for that is the NERV way!"

And all the while, Libera Me From Hell is playing over his EVA's loudspeakers....

The problem with "Shinji in Abenobashi" is that it's pretty much been done, in canon.

My reasoning is thus:

Abenobashi is the story of a boy who, upon realization that the "world of his youth" was falling apart, runs away to different versions of his "world;" i.e., other versions of the Abenobashi shopping arcade. However, he eventually comes to the conclusion (with some serious help) that he can't keep running, and his "best world" is, in fact, his original one. Once he's back there, he figures out that he can still work to keep his "world" as he likes it (I haven't read the series in years, so forgive me if I'm a little off).

Now, before I get the Evangelion part, I should first explain that I have felt, for a while now, that what happens during episodes 25 and (especially) 26 actually takes place during the End of Evangelion movie- during the time between Third Impact and Shinji & Asuka returning on the beach.

This is important; once Third Impact happens, Shinji is "God." He, at first, does not want the world to return to the way it was before 3I. That world has fallen apart on him. All he cares about is gone, and he feels that there is no longer any point to his existence as himself. However, with some serious help, he realizes that he can't just exist without any barriers- he can't keep running away. If he wants a world he can be happy with, he has to return to the world as it is and make it himself.

Although a much less humorous, the mental path Shinji takes is basically parallel to that of the main character of Abenobashi.

It could be funny to write out Shinji's 3I experience Abenobashi style, though.
