@Knight - I'm not sure I agree with your claim that Wood Release is the source of Hashirama's immense life force because the act of combining Earth and Water nature chakra somehow generate extra yang chakra. I think it might be the other way around - Hashirama was able to awaken Wood Release only because he was born with unnaturally powerful and massive physical energy and vitality (aka yang), which he unknowingly combines with his Earth and Water nature chakra to create plant life. There's probably been numerous other Senju who had the genetic potential to use Wood Release, but none of them had powerful enough physical/Yang energy to pull it off. So Hashirama basically has two bloodlines - wood release and extraordinary yang affinity. That's why no one else has ever been able to awaken the same power naturally.

I dunno. I might have agreed with that before he actually entered Sage Mode and used senjutsu exclusive Wood Release jutsu. Which implies that all his other wood release jutsu don't involve nature energy.

I do suspect that maybe his connection to nature makes it much easier for him to learn senjutsu and gather nature energy though. he doesn't have a contract with a senjutsu-using animal clan that we know of, and he gathered enough nature energy to enter Sage Mode and use a massive jutsu basically instantly so that whole "must stand still" restriction is pretty much meaningless to him.

Was it ever explained why there are so few Senju's - and no mention of a Senju clan within konoha? We only meet four named characters.

RE: The Naruversity

No, but there is one line spoken by Tobirama that gave me an idea of what might have happened to them:

"My brother thought that the village was something that would demolish the boundaries between clans."

Manga Stream translation:

"My brother had the notion that the village would desegregate all the clans and they'd all live happily ever after..."

If Hashirama wanted all the clans to desegregate, then he might have simply disbanded the Senju Clan after founding the village to try and set an example for the other clans to follow. If that's true, then the Senju do still exist in Konoha, just not as an organized group. They either married into other clans, or, like Tsunade, they don't use a clan name.

So there's probably lots of other clans that have Senju blood, and any character who doesn't have a family name might be directly descended from the former Senju Clan.

The connection you've made to yang release is interesting.
What would be the combined element that would be the most connected to yin release?
Ironically, Earth and Water seem the most appropriate since those two are the most oriented around "form". If Hashirama had yin nature transformation on his nature, I might have gone with Wood Release being a type of Yin-Yang Release since it creates life and gives it form with chakra alone. As it is I don't see Yin Release having anything, unfortunately.

Altered Nova said:
Another way that Wood Release is special is that it's permanent. Kisame ('s weird clone) can spit up a large lake of water, but it quickly evaporated once Gai defeated him. The same is true for pretty much all other chakra created physical materials. But all the trees Hashirama grew stayed there forever, even after he died.

I think you kind of touched on that with the paragraph about using Yang Release to create life, but maybe it might be worth stating more explicitly.
Good point, that's definitely worth a mention.

Do you think Wood Release has any kind of special relationship with nature energy? Hashirama was the third best sage in the series after Naruto and the Sage of Six Paths. Or do you think that was a skill he learned entirely separately from his wood release?
I do suspect that maybe his connection to nature makes it much easier for him to learn senjutsu and gather nature energy though. he doesn't have a contract with a senjutsu-using animal clan that we know of, and he gathered enough nature energy to enter Sage Mode and use a massive jutsu basically instantly so that whole "must stand still" restriction is pretty much meaningless to him.
Your thoughts match my own. I'd think that Wood Release gave Hashirama an affinity for natural energy that made him a prodigy for senjutsu; his ability to create plant life makes him so attuned to nature that he essentially discovered the path to becoming a Sage himself. Plus there's the connection between Wood Release and the God Tree I've been spinning here which, in the form of the Ten-Tails, is an avatar of natural energy itself anyway.

I've been working on a giant, new version of the Senjutsu theory considering all the new things we've learned so I hadn't thought to include it for this. But it might as well do it for both.

Altered Nova said:

So the reverse of what I'm saying then; the yang chakra is the cause rather than the effect. I can dig it. It could tie into why Hashirama's healing power isn't ever explicitly said to come from his Wood Release and it gives a legit reason for why only Hashirama has it which I was struggling with.

douter said:

The simple reason for that is just that everyone else with Wood Release is literally using a diluted version of Hashirama's. Madara's the only capable of using close to the same level but he's someone who had witnessed all of Hashirama's jutsu first-hand with his Sharingan and is just that powerful for various reasons. And that's probably worth a mention too anyway.

RE: The Naruversity

Personally, I'd make a distinction between Mokuton and HASHIRAMA's Mokuton.
Normal Mokuto, as uncommon as it is, is more like Yamato's than Hashirama's.

Hashirama's is abnormal because a number of possible reasons you did list: strong Yang influx, Sage Mode, Hashi being a Reincarnation or a combination of them.
IMHO Hashi's strong Yang made the Mokuton "alive" enough for it to form a connection to Nature Energy which strengthened it more and can make it "permanent". It has Biju-taming powers because it absorbs their chakra like it does Nature Energy.
Its Nature-energy-absorbing ability also caused Hashirama to develop Sage Mode over years of analysing his own techniques

Much like the Devil and Beetlejuice, speak my name and I shall appear!

I'm reminded of the discussion we had about Zabuza's big-ass Water Dragon Jutsu and how "Yang Water" hand seals were in the sequence. I've often wondered if some Jounin make use of specialised hand seals to intentionally imbalance the ratio of spiritual and physical energies in their Jutsu. For example, an experienced specialist like Kurenai being able to mould chakra that's 60-40 instead of 50-50. So maybe Hash was simply better at pumping more Yang into his Jutsu.

I have to admit, I don't like the idea that earth and water chakra mixing somehow generates yang-natured chakra, simply for the reason that the strength of Yamato's techniques only seems inadequate when compared to Hashirama's. Compare Yamato to Haku, or Kurotsuchi, or any of the Explosion Release users, and their special abilities all seem more or less even.

And, IIRC, the only reason Yamato could suppress Kurama's chakra is because Naruto had Hash's necklace containing his (and thus Asura's/one-half-of-Hagoromo's) chakra. It's possible that if Hashirama hadn't been Asura's transmigrant, he wouldn't have been able to supress Tailed Beast chakra, and if he had manifested the Hyoton bloodline instead, he might have been able to create massive chakra-sucking ice golems.

RE: The Naruversity

Senju Tsunade is a unique case and perfect example of the adaptable Chakra of the Six Paths Clans. She developed Chakra Enhanced Strength, a technique where the user uses their knowledge of the human body to focus an exceptionally large quantity of Chakra into their hands and feet using precise Chakra control, and then release it with pinpoint timing, which greatly enhances their strength. However, Tsunade's strength differs from her student, Haruno Sakura's. Years of utilising the Chakra Enhanced Strength technique has caused Tsunade's Chakra to adapt to it, granting her incredible raw strength even without use of the actual technique, to the point where she is capable of crushing stones in a single hand with nothing but pure muscle power. This raw strength is later increased to monstrous levels when Tsunade actually uses Chakra Enhanced Strength, allowing her to perform feats like lifting and swinging Gamabunta's tantō.

Yeah I like your theory more.

In my head cannon I always assumed that Tsunade had focused a great deal of chakra internally that it had became second nature to use - her whole body is enhanced so she doesn't rip apart her muscles while preforming these feats.

Which leads me to ask, if someone were to saturate their body with chakra would the Hyuga's Gentile Fist still work?

I think this, too.
Part-1 Sasuke had to actively focus chakra in his legs to improve his speed.
Part-2 Sasuke doesn't have anymore, he does it automatically. Also, because of che constant use, his base-speed improved greatly.

Tsunade's the same, except with her chakra control and medical knowledge she amped this process and its effect to 11, granting her what is basically constant super-strength.
It's likely Adult Sakura is the same, and Salada had that bout of super-strength because her mother started early to teach her to optimize her automatic chakra enhancing, resulting in super-strength when she actually focused to exert more power-

Which leads me to ask, if someone were to saturate their body with chakra would the Hyuga's Gentile Fist still work?
yes, if they can push enough chakra

Chakra Metal v1 (Version 2)

There exists a certain type of ore within the earth's crust in close proximity to the Dragon Veins, the pathways of natural chakra that run through the planet. It soaks up that natural source of chakra during its formation which gives special properties to the metal - chakra metal - that is extracted from it that the regular kind does not possess.

Standard metals can have chakra channelled into them such as flowing chakra into a steel kunai to increase its penetrative force. But weapons made from these metal cannot withstand the presence of chakra for too long which causes them to degrade until they lost all physical integrity.

Chakra metal, however, does not possess that weakeness in addition to being able to produce superior weaponry in general. It has the natural ability to absorb and contain chakra so that the energy can be channelled into it as many times as necessary without any degradation. This is especially true for elemental chakra which regular metal can only withstand for short periods while chakra metal can use without limit.

In fact, chakra metal is most commonly used for ninja who specialise in using elemental chakra in close-quarters combat such as ninja swordsmen. Every kenjutsu practictioner worth their salt will seek out a chakra sword as soon as possible.

Konoha's White Fang wielded a tanto that had been forged with an incredibly old and pure example of chakra metal, giving its blade the effect of amplifying the chakra channelled into it by magnitudes and producing a distinctive white light as a by-product.

Frankly, I'd avoid "chakra metal" and just use "special blacksmithing techniques". It makes more sense given we haven't seen one "special" weapon with the same ability as another.

Steel and bronze are metals and they aren't found in nature.
Still thinking Special Blacksmithing Techniques work better.

RE: The Naruversity

Why does regular metal degrade when chakra flows through it? That seems weird to me that chakra would cause a natural substance to break down.

I think it would be simpler if regular metal could only handle chakra flow - that is, chakra being actively channeled through the blade by a ninja who is holding it - but chakra metal can absorb and store chakra even when it isn't being wielded. Such as when Shikamaru pierced Kakuzu and Hidan's shadows with his thrown trench knifes and paralyzed them in place.

In other words, regular metal can only handle chakra flow, so there's a limit to what you can do with regular metal weapons. Make them harder, sharper, longer, vibrate them, cover them in fire - basic improvements. But you can infuse an actual jutsu inside a chakra metal object, so you can do cool stuff like throw a chakra metal blade through a tree without losing the wind chakra edge (which a regular metal blade would lose as soon as it left the user's hands, breaking the chakra flow), and even crazy things like store a Shadow Imitation Technique inside a knife and paralyze someone by throwing it at their shadow. So chakra metal is far more versatile.

RE: The Naruversity

From what we've seen, chakra will remain inide the weapon even made of reguar metal. Sasuke did it with one of his kunai agaist Orochimaru in the Forest of Death, Darui dd it with a seemingly ordinary shuriken avainst Kisame and there's one panel from the war that sticks in my memory where one or two thrown kunai were on fire. Making ordinary weapons weak to too much chakra was my way of creating a greater distinction between them since the way Shikamaru used his knuckle-knife felt like the only real reason to bother which just ddn't seem a big enough deal. And to be fair, I was thinking more of nature transformed chakra rather than regular chakra when I first came up with it with the heat of fire chakra or vibrations of lightning chakra damaging the weapons.

RE: The Naruversity

Seems you are right. Hell, Killer Bee even supercharged a thrown pencil with vibrating lightning chakra. He did it twice with the same pencil in fact! And it pierced through multiple trees with each throw.

Although now I wonder... if a lowly pencil can survive being supercharged with lightning chakra and weaponized twice, would the same process really cause any damage to a metal sword?

The problem is that canonically, it does seem like Shikamaru's knuckle-knife shadow trick is the only real reason to use a chakra blade over a normal one. The only known chakra metal blades are Asuma's trench knives and Kakashi's white light sabre, and neither seems to be all that special. Killer B and Danzou have both matched Asuma's chakra flow techniques with a pencil and an ordinary kunai, and the sabre doesn't seem to do anything but glow and it broke very easily. And there is no evidence that too much chakra flow can damage an ordinary weapon.

Damn good points. If that's the only benefit it hardly seems worth talking about. Considering how redundant this special metal appears out to be, I wonder if Kishimoto simply got caught up in ideas since it was introduced in the same arc as nature transformation and the rest.

RE: The Naruversity

Considering Shikamaru used Asuma's blades to hold his Shadow Possession technique on Hidan, I wonder if 'special chakra metal' is simply metal that's been refined/forged to be able to hold a chakra 'charge' longer.

Like, if someone used a blade with the special metal to set a trap, and had to make sure that the blade would hold the chakra necessary to enhance the blade and make the trap work. Whereas an ordinary blade would hold the chakra for a small amount of time, before the chakra dissipated.

Samurai v2 (Knyght)

Samurai v2 (Official Version)

Samurai are the third branch of chakra wielders alongside Ninja and Ninsou.

They emerged from the more militant factions of humanity who worshiped the Sage of Six Paths for his god-like power and the gift of chakra. But his ideals of peace were meaningless to them and from the beginning they honed their chakra purely for the sake of combat, devoting themselves only to martial might.

Their belief the body and the sword were the only tools a warrior needed and that mastering both was the path to true strength. They even held the tradition of naming their best swords which has persisted to the modern day. Because of this they disregarded the idea of using ninjutsu altogether, only using chakra to enhance the abilities of their body and empower their weapons for superhuman sword styles.

The samurai created a code of honour known as Bushido, meaning Way of the Warrior. Instead of personal rules practiced by shinobi, these are a universal set of rules that all samurai are meant to follow. They took on what they considered a higher purpose as they became the protectors of the people and served the nobility of each nation.

In that earlier age, it was far more common for an individual to become a samurai than a ninja. Ninjutsu was a new and foreign concept with unknown potential and limitations. But the samurai's form of combat was just an extension of the way humanity had fought for centuries already.

So where ninjas were mercenaries with specialist skills and samurai were the warriors who fought in great armies as the largest and strongest fighting force in the lands. This was the status quo of the world for many generations.

But where ninjutsu constantly advanced and evolved, the skills of the samurai underwent little change. They were complacent and their techniques stagnated while the ninja pushed the boundaries of chakra. Eventually a power shift occurred as the combination of power, versatility and adaptability of shinobi became more desirable. More and more lords would use ninja to fight their battles whilst the samurai were little more than their bodyguards.

The creation of the hidden villages finally rendered the samurai obsolete as ninjas became the military of each country. The sharing of their knowledge, skills and jutsu caused the shinobi world to undergo a rapid evolution. Many samurai gave up their profession to become ninja and samurai schools became ninja schools instead; most ninja swordsmen in the present day even have styles and techniques that originated from the samurai. As the Great Shinobi Wars changed the scale of war altogether, it became clear that the samurai were a dying breed. But instead of allowing themselves to become nothing more than a footnote in history, they chose to carve their own niche.

Samurai without lords or a cause joined together to build a country of their own. They travelled to the mainland connected to the northern peninsula of the continent which, to this day, remains an untamed land that belonged to no ruler due to its strange habitat and stranger wildlife. Within that land are the Sanro Mountains, a remote region covered in endless snow and protected by its hazardous environment, and it was at their peak that the Land of Iron was first created.

It became a military nation of samurai. The flocked to this settlement from every nation to create one of the most racially diverse countries for all its small size. Instead of being ruled by a feudal lord and protected by a hidden village, it is ruled and protected by samurai alone who removed themselves from the affairs of shinobi.

The birth of the Land of Iron was also beginning of their advancement in the art of warfare. They combined dozens of sword styles from across the land and refine the skill with chakra to turn themselves into a formidable army capable of fending off anyone who dared to invade their new homeland. They may not have used ninjutsu themselves but they learned to recognize, understand and counter them so that they could never be caught off guard. With their single-minded focus on kenjutsu and taijutsu, the average samurai is physically superior to the average shinobi.

The samurai that remained were barely recognised as such by most. They possess the skill in swordsmanship but have no knowledge in wielding chakra, making them only marginally more skilled than an armed civilian. Some stands above the rest as they are drop-outs or traitors from the Land of Iron who fled their home and use their skills to earn them a living. Rather than having a respective lifestyle, the only place these samurai are likely to be found are in criminal syndicates as they act as enforcers and bodyguards or as a part of bandits.

Their choice in location revealed itself to be a great boon to their people as those mountains and the lands around them were rich in natural resources. Blacksmithing, mining and technology development became big businesses in the Land of Iron. They developed highly advanced body armour with a number of different technologies included and steel forged in the Land of Iron is the best in the continent.

They once used the same armour and weapons as shinobi but now the two fighting class went in significantly different directions. Their metal armour that covers them from head to toe with heavy protection, specially forged to have resistance against ninjutsu and genjutsu. Their helmets contained gas masks, light sensitive lenses, sound dampeners to circumvent ninja tricks such as poisons, flash bangs and explosives. They also carry built-in radio to communicate and coordinate with one another and telescopes to see through tough conditions.

Standard katana became outdated and were instead used as training tools for a recruit to familiarise themselves with before their real training began. Now the samurai armed themselves with four short swords. Shorter swords were more convenient, practical and versatile as these samurai fought by extending chakra from their swords and shaping them into different weapons. They drew together the sword styles of all the clans and schools that had gathered to create a superior, unified style.

The Land of Iron became the greatest example of brute force military might on the continent while their strictly neutral status and strong morality earned them the right to host the Kage Summit. The Samurai Legions of the Land of Iron are respected by all and crossed by none.

Maybe there's a level of skill involved. What if it's way easier to infuse weapons made of chakra metal with chakra? It's a better conducter of chakra or something.

But if you're a goddamn master of chakra flow you can turn pencils into lightning missiles of death.

On CHAKRA METAL
Chakra can be infused in everything. A normal table spoon, for example.
Somebody good enough could turn a pencil into a Magic Missile.
But normal materials are inefficient Chakra conductors: that is the reason behind the creation of special blacksmithing techniques apt to create chakra-conductive metals.

Most ninja weapons are made of such metals, even disposable tools like shuriken and kunai.
Disposable tools, of course, are mostly made with low-quality chakra metal. Still, they show a clear improvement in chakra conductivity and retention.
Nowadays, only Academy-level training tools aren't made of Chakra Metal, as Academy students aren't supposed to know how to channel chakra in items. Also, they are extremely cheap, costing around 1/10th of their Chakra Metal equivalent.
Not much of an expense for a ninja, who is also likely to buy them in bundle and get a discount, but for an Academy kid is still quite the expense

Most career ninja, beyond cheap, low-quality disposable tools, also employ higher quality chakra metal tools. Usually, it's their "main" tool or weapon of choice. The chakra metal of this items gives the user a much greater flow-control, as well having little chakra resistance.
Lower level ninja usually don't bother with high-quality tools as to make use of their qualities there is a need for chakra control very few Genin have- also, they cost and arm and a leg.
Samurai, by the way, train with wooden swords, use medium-quality semi-mass produced chakra metal swords are used as service swords and when they raise to the equivalent rank of Chuunin they get a High Quality Chakra Metal Sword, tailored on them.

The blacksmithing techniques to make Chaka Metal are pretty much universally known among any blacksmith worth his salt.
Of course every blacksmith has their own secret recipe, and there are more-or-less small differences depending on the maker: Suna Chakra Metal, for example, has a higher thermal insulation, Kiri metal is more resistant to corrosion, etc.
But the basics are the same everywhere.

Then there are Special Items.
Items like Konoha's White Fang Blade or the Seven Ninja Sword of Kiri.
Beyond the "normal" qualities of super-high-level chakra metal, they were made with secret, often unreplicable, blacksmithing techniques, giving them all kind of special powers.
The White Fang, for example, is basically a chakra super-conductor, having not chakra resistance whatsoever, resulting in the white aura it's known for.
Special Items are extremely expensive... or they would be, as finding a blacksmith capable to make one is incredibly hard in first place.
As a side note, Samurai don't employ Special Items, as they find using something nobody else has a chance to use be cheating.

On MONKS, SAMURAI and NINJA
Monks still follow the principles of Ninshū, using ninjutsu only for self defence and training(mens sana in corpore sano)

Samurai use chakra manipulation(basic ninjutsu) to serve higher ideal, from defend the weak to serve their Lord. They also practice some principle of the ninshū as meditation practice(to keep their minds healthy in their healthy bodies)

Ninja use ninjutsu for their own personal gain. Ninshū? It's something to eat?

Puppet Jutsu (Knyght)

Knyght

The Collector
Puppet Jutsu (Official Jutsu)

The Puppet Jutsu is a style of ninjutsu which uses chakra threads to control puppets like marionettes. It is one of three signature fighting styles native to the Land of Wind. Someone who uses this style is known as a puppeteer and most practitioners belong to the Hidden Sand's Puppet Brigade.

It's said that puppetry was first brought to the land in ancient times by a clan of strange travelers as a type of entertainment in the form of theater with string-controlled puppets. It was a shinobi - Chikamatsu Monzaemon - who turned that art into a tool for battle. And, in the respect to the roots of puppetry, The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets was supposedly based on a painting of the people who introduced puppetry in the first place.

The jutsu style is very demanding as, in addition to practicing puppetry, it requires the construction, maintenance and improvement of the puppet (or puppets) that each puppeteer's fighting style is based upon. The mastery required typically forces them to neglect their other skills which makes them specialize in long-range combat through their puppets while being weak at close-range combat themselves. It is traditional for a puppeteer to choose a specific color as the signature for their puppets and jutsu.

The puppeteer extends threads of chakra from their fingertips and attaches it to the puppet. Chakra threads possess a strength and dexterity that physical ones lack; they can be attached to any material, extend as far as the caster's control allows and can lift objects of different sizes and weights without any strain.

Each thread connects to a different part of the puppet and the movements of their arms, hands and fingers control its body. The greater the skill of the puppeteer, they less exaggerated their movements need to be because the chakra itself is able to generate a response in the puppet so that it moves as they desire. Puppets are frequently stored inside scrolls to prevent their size and weight from being cumbersome.

The greatest strength of a puppet is that they can be built to include additional mechanics such as hidden weaponry, tools and traps which can be activated with their chakra. They are even made to possess chakra-type weapons such as swords and shields. As technology progressed this has even grown to include radios, listening devices and cameras for espionage. And that role was supplemented by specialized disguises that would give the puppets the same appearance as a living person.

And because puppeteers are weak in close-combat, it could became a staple of their style to heavily rely on using poison with their puppets to kill their opponent as fast as possible. Any weapon inside the puppet is coated in poison and they store gas canisters that releases poisonous gases on command.

For all that puppeteers are often looked down on, few are foolish enough to believe they are not a credible threat.

Most Famous Users

Chikamatsu Monzaemon - The inventor of the Puppet Jutsu, he originally wanted nothing more than to produce a masterful puppet performance. Simply for the sake of that, he devised a method of controlling puppet without strings and just chakra, manipulating his puppets like a natural extension of the body. He constructed ten master-level puppets and could control each one with a single finger.

Shamon - The Second Kazekage was unorthodox in his style of Puppet Jutsu. Instead controlling as many puppets as possible, he focused on controlling one puppet at a time. But these puppets were large and complex constructs filled with incredibly complicated weapons arrays that made fighting them a nightmare.

Chiyo - She was the greatest puppeteer of her time when she mastered the same single finger technique as Monzaemon and controlled his greatest collection of puppets herselft. In one particularly famous battle, Chiyo used that Chikamatsu Collection to conquer an entire castle.

Sasori of the Red Sand - He surpassed the supposed limit of what a puppeteer could do by controlling a hundred puppets with chakra threads from his fingertips, and then revolutionised puppetry itself with the invention of human puppets that surpassed any man-made puppet. The culmination of both these skills is the Red Secret Jutsu: Hundred Puppet Performance, a jutsu that Sasori used to destroy a country single-handedly.

Human Puppet

The Human Puppet is a puppet made from a human corpse, first invented by Sasori of the Red Sand.

They are built by removing the skin, blood and internal organs from the body and then preserving what's left from decomposition by transforming them into a hollow puppet with a forbidden jutsu. All that remains is a small nucleus of organic flesh that resides within the core of the puppet.

Using that living flesh, the puppet retains the chakra and abilities that it possessed in life. Just as a human corpse can reveal what jutsu they used in life, the human puppet has their jutsu ingrained in their altered flesh. With that, Sasori can command the puppet to use their jutsu through his chakra strings. But that is naturally more difficult than simply controlling the puppet alone, enough so that it's unfeasible with his Hundred Puppet Performance as his attention is split between controlling so many puppets at once.

Like regular puppets, they can be changed and improved by adding a variety of mechanisms to improve their functions such as hidden weapons, gas chambers and storage spaces. Their puppet bodies are actually tougher than what is normally used to construct puppet and since they possess chakra, they are far more responsive to chakra threads than regular puppets.

Sasori himself is the pinnacle of human puppets as he is the only subject to have been transformed into one while still alive. The metamorphosis collected all of his blood and organs and compressed them into the nucleus of flesh that would continually create chakra and act as a vessel for his consciousness, something other human puppets would lack. He was more than just a human puppet, he is a living puppet.

He made countless preparations to make his puppet body into the ultimate weapon and one that can mend itself back to prime condition no matter how many times it is destroyed. As long as his nucleus remains, he can even hijack his other puppets and convert them into an image of his own body to ensure that he was never vulnerable. And because he lacks the biological functions and weaknesses of a human body, his stamina is only used up when he actively creates chakra which means that he has a lot more chakra to use in combat than he ever did as a living human.

And changing himself like this advanced the ability of his puppetry skills by far as he became able to extend chakra strings directly from his nucleus to his puppets, removing the need for any movement whatsoever as well as any time lag between commands. Sasori attained what could literally be called an inhuman skill level with the Puppet Jutsu.
