Naruto [Naruto] Miscellaneous ideas topic.

RESONANCE is not SHARING- it's basically how the memories come back, as well possibly how the clones manage to synch-fight.
The User probably get back chakra, which "synchs" with the User's own chakra giving it memories and then disperse like unspent excess chakra.

Nowhere it's suggested clones siphon chakra from the user, while resting has been shown regenerating their chakra/stamina

Nah, if a Shadow Clone just took 1/2 of the user's physical and spiritual energy, then what would the point of a clone's chakra moving in resonance with the original's be? It would be able to produce chakra by itself by converting the physical and spiritual energy that it had been gifted during its creation, so its would basically be able to be fully independent until it ran out of energy and dispelled.

Remember Neji couldn't tell the real Naruto apart from his Shadow Clones during their fight, becuase they all had exactly the same amount of chakra flowing through their pathways, even when one or more of them used chakra enhancement. The portions of chakra that Naruto had moulded and divided between him and his Shadow Clones (and stored within their pathways) all moved in sync.

Plus physical and spiritual energies being transferred without passing through the pathways first doesn't sound right to me. If that were possible, then a simple transfer technique would be able to cure chakra exhaustion, and it wouldn't be considered so dangerous.
I think that the Shadow Clone is the only technique that can transfer physical and spiritual energy without going through your pathways, because the clones are still technically part of you. The latter part could be why there is still resonance between them without them sharing Chakra constantly.

(BTW, the Wood Clone seems to also have all of the properties of the Shadow Clone, unlike what fanon often says. Remember Madara's clones using Susano'o? And Yamato/Tenzo knowing that Sai betrayed them?)

Kage Bunshin were likely developed by Tobirama trying to replicate Hashirama's Moku Bunshin

Nothing like bringing up shadow clones to derail a conversation. :snigger:

AoMythology, I'd recommended creating a separate thread for this in Naruto Ideas first and keeping snippets in there until/unless you're actually starting the story.

Kakashi thinks that a start-of-manga Naruto (who's weakened by hunger) can only maintain seven clones for about a minute.

Kakashi makes a ton of clones right after he tells Naruto that he's used up too much chakra. How could he split his physical and spiritual energies 100 or so times when he's already exhausted, without passing out from chakra exhaustion? He even states that it's a bluff.

It makes far more sense that actually forming a clone's physical body isn't that costly, and the real expense of the technique is the clone drawing on the chakra of the user.

Kakashi flat-out states that because he doesn't have as much stamina as someone like Naruto, he can't maintain Shadow Clones for an extended time.

Tobimara (the guy who freaking invented the technique) can only use two clones while also concentrating on maintaining the Four Red Yang Formation.

We've had this conversation before, ankoku, and you never replied to my last subject on the topic. I've re-read that part of the manga, and Naruto states that he's used up all his chakra here, but considering that Temari was talking about Sage Mode, and we see him gathering Natural Energy here, I'm pretty sure he was talking about Sage Chakra.

He said 'Mass Shadow Clone, Kakashi Style'. Are we certain they aren't the simple Clone jutsu, or genjutsu, or the simple clone given more realism with a genjutsu? >:-D

"When the original body weaves chakra again to regain control..." = dispelling the clone

"...All the individual chakra bits begin resonating and link together." = memories and remaining chakra returning to original and other surviving clones

He's not talking about the clone's chakra circulatory system copying the original's involuntarily, he's describing the mechanics of how the memory/chakra return function of the Shadow Clone jutsu works. When the user moulds chakra to regain control of their dispersed chakra (aka clones), that dispersed chakra resonates and links up with the user and other surviving clones, then travels through those links to them. (Except instead of using the link to take his dispersed chakra back, Naruto allowed his father's chakra to piggyback down the links to connect to everyone else for a mass teleportation.)

My headcanon is that shadows clones are still linked to their creator and when they mould chakra they draw directly from the original's stamina reserves. The chakra cost to create them is minimal, the real cost is that they multiply normal chakra consumption rate. If you create one clone and you both fight all out, you'll burn through your reserves in half the time. Even if you sit back and let the clone do all the fighting, it can still use up your chakra for you and kill you via chakra exhaustion. The jutsu is forbidden because it's much harder to accurately track your stamina/chakra levels when it's being depleted remotely by independent clones whose actions you can't reliably predict, so chakra exhaustion is always a serious danger for normal users.

I see. So it's referring to all the times Naruto's manually dispelled a clone by forming the "cross-ram" seal. That makes a lot more sense. After all, if a clone could affect the original's chakra flow just by moulding chakra, then they could easily disrupt any technique the original has active or momentarily screw up their chakra control. And if their chakra was in sync constantly, they'd probably essentially be a hive mind (though it makes sense to me that you could potentially derive a Jutsu from the Shadow Clone that could momentarily sync up a Shinobi's chakra with their clone's, and effectively share memories; effectively becoming one mind in two bodies for a few seconds.)

I wonder if a Shadow Clone dispelling, either by its own choice, or by taking sufficient damage, also causes any other clone to momentarily link back up with the original.

This (seeing as I misunderstood the whole resonance bit.) It makes absolutely no sense to me that a jutsu (that isn't a bloodline technique or specifically designed to do it) can split a person's physical and spiritual energies without said energies being converted into chakra first.

And there's no evidence that Shadow Clones can replenish their stamina by themselves, as otherwise every Jounin would have Shadow Clones sitting around the village just chilling out to get back to 100%, and then dispel them whenever they needed additional chakra. Naruto only does that with Natural Energy (though I guess someone who has the ability to absorb chakra and has an available source of chakra like a prisoner or something could do something like that as a viable strategy.

I've got a vague idea for a chunin exams parody, involving a 3v3 street basketball tournament

Honestly, I just want an excuse to name a fic "White Nin Can't Jump'.

So, a facebook page I didn't even remember posted this status:

So, I've been wondering lately.
Vampires, right? I mean, think about this shit. They can never see themselves in a mirror. They don't cast any reflections. So then how in the hell do they always look so suave and sophisticated?
Is it a natural part of becoming a Vampire to learn how to do your hair without looking? And the way that suit fits so nicely, I mean DAMN, I wish I looked that good in a suit. As it is, I tend to look like a barely-kempt Gibbon.

And what if a Vampire subscribes to a different religion than the stereotypes? For example, what if it was Jewish? Would Crosses still bother it, or would it just laugh at you? And how would it feed if it was Jewish? I mean, Regular Vampires, as far as I know, seem to be Christian in general. They dislike the Cross because from what I can guess, it shows them how un-pure they are. Or maybe they're Satanic, or something, either really works.
But what about a Vampire who practices Bhuddism? I can't imagine he would spend too much time bothering the local townspeople. In fact, I think they might even like the guy.

And that got me thinking about a Buddhist vampire that bites voluntaries every week in the local blood donation, and rewards them with hand-made vegan cookies and orange milk, not because he is a vegan but just because some people are.

And then I thought, "wasn't Naruto a kind of Buddha or something at the end?". And so in my head that vampire became Naruto.

And then the only places I remembered in modern times where vampires live among people without being hunted are Harry Potter and Highschool DxD, so I thought about a crack fic of Rias trying to recruit vampire Naruto without knowing he is a Buddha and thus can't be reincarnated, all while Naruto pulls an oldYang and uses his experiences and wind release to entertain people until the story of DxD gets serious and Naruto joins in.

And I really need someone to tell me why this story is a bad idea besides it sounding like a twilight fangirl nino story before I actually start writing it.

If those points don't bother you, then I don't see why not. I can't promise I'd read it, mind you, but there you have it.

Provided you keep Naruto's personality, and appearance intact then I can't see why it would be considered Nino. I mean, you can explain his Ninjutsu as a different form a magic, or Fuinjutsu as Onmyodo magic.

I think it's the belief behind a holy symbol that repels them. I'd imagine that Holy Water blessed by a priest that doesn't truely believe wouldn't work.

...How would a Jehovah's Witness Vampire work? I mean, it's a tenant of their faith that, according to their interpretation of the Bible, ingesting blood (in any way, not just orally) is forbidden. Does that mean that, if we go by the widely-held convention that a Vampire needs to make a target drink some of their blood to turn them, that a Jehova's witness would be immune to the process?

No, because it's entirely possible to force a person to drink something against their will.

Well sure, but if he's aware of it, then it shouldn't be to difficult to circumvent it, right? If you see a problem, then come up with a solution.

Well, if two different people said it is alright to write it, I see no reason not to try my hand at this crack fic.

So... Itachi's Genjutsu are just as dangerous and infinitely more embarrassing?

Plus, Itachi still loves his little brother, so he does his best to hide his pervasion when Sasuke's a little kid, but once he's a genin, Itachi quits bothering to conceal it?

"Foolish little brother. Not only do you still lack sufficient hatred... but with my eyes, I can see that you are still a virgin as well..."

"Before Kisame and I take our leave, Jiraiya-sensei... do you have a release date for your next book?"

"Jiraiya-sensei, you were the one who taught Konan-sempai, correct? Do you have any advice regarding my ongoing seduction of her?"

Reminds me of the story I was writing a long time ago called Quintessence that featured a female Sasuke.

Instead of the 'testing his capabilities' excuse, this Itachi decided to try and tie the idea of a 'traitor' to everything that is wrong with the world, in hopes that she would make him the ultimate boogyman to the future Uchiha clan and cement loyalty to the leaf.

tl;dr: Imagine the above idea, with a female Sasuke, and an Itachi fucked up enough to pretend. Verbally, mind you, it wasn't going to go past just words, but yeahh...

tl;dr: Quintessence was the happiest of stories.

It's never been posted, though if you look in my post history, there's some old discussion about it.

female!sasuke isn't really the focus of the story, just one of the protags- Team 8 is Kakashi/Naruto/Shino/femSasuke.

To put things in perspective, femSasuke has probably the least horrific past of the people on team 8.
